I think it’s possible that if Gwimbly 64 got a remaster, certain things like backtracking would’ve been fixed. And maybe a better way to character swap. I still love the game though.
Gwimbly 64 was just a bloated mess. Graphically impressive, but it tried to do too many things at once. The Gwimbly Trilogy: Reloaded for the Dreamcast--now there was a masterpiece! All three games spread across two discs, updated graphics, a solid VMU game... It even had the '81 arcade hit Gwimbly was based off of. Too bad the game isn't on Steam anywhere...
Gwimbly 64 also repeated two of its bosses. You had to beat the ‘81 game TWICE in order to get the Gwimbly Token. I am hearing the trilogy might be getting packaged for Steam with all the hype.
I'm a little young to remember Gwimbly 64 or the even later remake for the playstation 2, but I can say that my older brother was a big fan and had a few times in his childhood where Gwimbly was the cornerstone of his happiness. I respect your opinion of Gwimbly 64, but I controversially like the remake on the playstation 2. I think they definitely need another installment, but I can do without more Del Monte creamed corn product placement, like I get it, they're the #1 market shareholder on all creamed corn sales, but COME ON, Gwimbly was a massive part of the boom in sales for creamed corn back in '95, everyone knows that, I mean, the canned vegetable marked is projected to grow from USD 10060 million in 2023 to USD 11390 million by 2029, surely it wouldn't cost anything but a speck of that to make Gwimbly 4, the Gwimbleton Chronicles like what was teased back in 2003 before it was cancelled.
And I remember buying all the creamed corn at my local grocery store back then. They would send us shipments of cans because Gwimbly made me love it that much.
Donkey Kong... I mean uhhhhh Gwimbly 64 is an absolute underrated masterpiece & doesn't deserve the hate it gets.

With the texture warping he clearly is supposed to be a playstation character, though
Oh definitely. Gwimbly gave off strong Crash Bandicoot vibes. I loved the episode.
that's actually because all video game characters take the form of their most recent game

@@JakeGoodmanYT I just hope they don't botch the graphics like they did with the old GTA series!
Gwimbly is suposed to be a PS game. Vertexes don't vibrate that way on the N64, but they do on the PlayStation
what confused me the most is i googled it thinking wtf is this game real?
and there was results! >.>

I never played the PS2 remake. I’ll add that to my list.
