Over 30 takes to get this melody perfect for the chorus according to Oli, which is why we get the outtake at the end lol

Love the reaction as always! FWIW, it IS should "have" but that construction is often used with a contraction "should've" which then gets pronounced as "should ov" and then mistakenly transcribed as "should of". I'm sure there's a specific linguistic term for that phenomenon but it's escaping me atm. Cheers =)

You are the first reactors who have referenced
    the 1978 Jonestown incident -
where a poisoned drink was made
    and over 900 people perished,
    How many committed suicide voluntarily,
were forced to drink the poison
or were forcibly injected with poison is still unclear.
I associate "drinking the Kool-aid" with that incident
(though the drink they used was Flavor-aid apparently)
and it gives me cult vibes
and that is all over the song
the use of several strong emotions and distinct perspectives
    within one vocal line.
BTW as a retired teacher (of mathematics) in Britain,
it was a common mistake for students
to confuse "should have" in its contracted form "should've"
    for "should of"
The English department especially were having problems with
"they're" being written "their", "you're" being written "your"
and all the contracted endings "-'ve" being written "of"
I think it is a big function of the British English dialect
If you have heard of a band called Slade from the 1970s in Britain
they wrote their lyrics as they spoke them
so they famously had "Cum On Feel the Noize"
    ua-cam.com/video/78ezU7x3jfE/v-deo.html
Though like a lot of British singers they had a transatlantic singing style at the time.

I feel it has spread wider than Yorkshire
      (I am originally from Huddersfield)
but I taught at a comprehensive school in Oxford
and there was a battle over the "should have" and "should of"
      going on LOL
But then I remember a loving couple coming in
to talk to me about their adopted son
      who was in my class
and they were originally from Barbados
and one of the things they said was
they were worried that he was starting to develop a Jamaican accent
which is a reflection of where the Black British accent is predominantly influenced by.

*Thank the Lord....another human who gets bothered by this "of" instead of "have" [ a mistake that I've read many times in the last 2 years or so...]. And now let us praise the God of Se# and Drums & Rock and Roll....stay safe.* 🎵🔥😈🔥

The should of known thing has been around for years, a decade? It's infuriating, but that's what kids do. Should of sounds like should've, so that's how they write it these days.
