I have a 2021 model. It handles very well even in strong crosswinds better than two-wheel bikes and goes around corners as if it is on rails.
It is comfortable to ride over long distances. I have cured most of the helmet buffeting with a deflector fitted to the top of the screen.
I am now 86 and have lost a lot of upper body strength that I used to have. Having the stand-alone allows me to push the bike around in the garage without the risk of it falling. I would recommend this bike to any person who is getting older and who is finding a two-wheel bike a bit of a handful. With the stand-alone function, it is easy to manage without the fear of dropping it although it weighs around 240kg.
One of the great advantages is the centre stand. With the stand-alone active roll onto the centre stand the bike becomes extremely stable.
Rolling the bike off the centre stand the bike stays upright with no fear of it tipping over.
This is the Tricity advantage. A big comfortable manageable bike for the older rider, with enough getup and go to satisfy most scenic riders.
Most of us grey nomads have been through the plastic bullet stage.

Thanks for the reviews. I have been watching for a few days. I really like the Tricity 300. I have only had Yamaha's in the past. RD 50 RD 125 RD 350 mk1. Love the idea of the Tricity with a Car licence in the UK. I never got a bike licence.

Most of the 3 wheel owners I've met are bike enthusiasts not cars, and like myself have a lot of riding experience. I don't see many car drivers swapping the tin can for any scooter. The 125 riders have L plates so maybe they can be ridden via a CBT, and bigger engines on car and full motorcycle licences.

    • @1zanglang

There are countries where you can ride only 50 cc with car license. In my country the law to modify the road code, for allowing drivers to ride 125cc scooters, went through a 4 year painful ”pregnancy”. The last bump in its way to be adopted, was our president, nicknamed ”The Closet”, who first time, sent it back to parliament, and second time filed a complaint against it to Constitutional Court, claiming it is unconstitutional. The Court needed one additional month to reject the complaint, and since then The Closet has 20 days to promulgate it. After that, another gestation would follow, for the Government to put up the executive procedures, to legalize them, send them to Motorcycle schools, and finally, these schools would implement the 10 hour training stated by the law, for car drivers to obtain the certificate for riding the damn 125cc scooter, not manual transmission 125cc motorcycle. As the motorcycling schools rarely have 125cc scooters for learning, there would be more delays. So, the alternative to all this bureaucracy and hassle, or to shitty and expensive motorcycle schools, is this tricycle, which legally can be driven with car license. Who is in his/her right mind, after buying this, would pay an affordable fee to a motorcycle instructor, for few hours of training. Then, the owner continues the training, as any other responsible motorcyclist.

In Germany you have to take a driving school course for a 125 ccm engine in addition to your car driving license, which costs around 700 euros. If you drive at least 90% in the city, I agree with you. But who does that.

You should try to become a better rider. The motorcycles are not dangerous, but people riding them while not knowing how, are really dangerous.
