For those of you wondering, yes, the exploits are long patched. Your nuclear control systems at home are safe, don’t worry.
phew !!
that was a close one
I’m worried about StudNet 3.0
Oh good I was about to start sweating... I don't need my house exploding.
some genius in government will want to keep launch keys in the cloud or some b*llshit and it'll get ransomware attacked
I remember hearing about this when it was going down, it's honestly pretty scary to think that digital code can cause actual physical damage in the world around us. I can only imagine what kinds stuff we have now.
??? it's scary??? its normal people get hurt by bad code and design all the time
That's why smart devices are considered a silly investment. Maybe you won't be physically harmed (unless it's a health related device), but can financially hurt you or at the very least do the opposite of what you were hoping to achieve with said device whether that's security, energy saving, or convenience.
@@arowhead9 the video is clearly about software made to destroy. not errors or design(??).
Scared no, excited yes. Humanity has f'd this world enough and we are divided more than we ever have. We are destined to destroy ourselves and it looks like it is coming soon. F'K HUMANITY!
We also have better security policies now that require more physical logistics than we used to. Pretty scary how many older systems were just allowing anything and everything in with the click (or sometimes less) of a button.
Glad to see Disrupt still going strong and releasing high-quality bangers like this
They should find some way to get the old narrator back, even if it's with a lopsided deal against him for what he did. Tbh most of the fans don't care about the drama, his voice was just perfect for these sort of "Digital Underground" stories.
Right? Who needs Jak
Bro said it 1 minute after upload 💀💀

@@KevinJohnson-cv2no i 100 percent agree his voice was perfect we need him back
Loving these visuals. They really hit when the narration reaches critical or climactic points in the story. A mix of funny, datamoshing, and badass "hackerman" visuals and music.
Also that dancing guy walking up to the white house with the planes landing around and in front of him killed me. 10/10, would (and will) watch again.
yea Agreed at first i thought it was going to be something I saw then saw something else I wanted to watch more but it was actually really good
I personally don't like the visuals but I understand what you are saying
Masterpiece, 👌👌👌.
to even conceptualize what coding that was involved in stux is enough to be considered a masterpiece
Despite how serious it is, I couldn't help but crack up at 7:30 at the Spy from TF2 suddenly appearing XD
Harvard students made a group project for their school and made a sophisticated geoguessr bot that beat RAINBOLT, one of the best geoguessr players in the world and has found many viral meme locations using the background. Just imagine what things could be getting created RIGHT NOW without anyone's knowledge.
Yep
I really feel like your narration has improved over the last couple of videos. Well done!
Agreed, at first I was a little hesitant about the change but he's really grown on me
they dead
@@arianzd2933 The narration is just not hitting for me at all
@@ryanbrown5407 the feelling is dead not narration and why u rep me this?
wait....did they just used CSM & AOT & Blue Lock references!!?? Man I love how amazingly disrupts uses these clippings with ref!!
To be honest, you guys are really underrated! , You really deserve the audience!
Its unfortunate that they had that falling out with the one founder and/or narrator guy
@@JK-gm6kk Sometimes unfortunate situations can free us to do better. I hope that's how they're feeling now at least.
They didn't deserve the audience. Hope the Founder starts a new project
@@JK-gm6kkya well that other guy was a thief and extortionist
@@Sevenigma777 so they say
Imagine creating something so sophisticated, effective and dangerous and not being able to tell anyone you were part of it.
On that note, imagine if Walter White was a software engineer instead of a chemist, I wanna watch THAT TV series alright.

Mr. Robot. Unfortunately, it's not free on Amazon Prime anymore, even though it's an Amazon original. Absolutely amazing regardless.

4:50 my mom has a story about this- apparently she worked at a company who did a lot of business overseas, especially with the middle east. This is all post gulf-war, and pretty recently after too, so it got a little dodgy. The red flags were finally flown at full height when an ambassador from the state department came to give a presentation on terrorist trade groups and who not to trade with, which ended with a no trade list that looked suspiciously like their company's client list. She then said that one of the anecdotes that the guy mentioned was that one of the ground units over there had found an area of desert filled with thousands of washing machines, all of the same type, model and size- but they were missing their drums. All the same part from all the machines just dumped out there. Apparently it was then found out that those drums were used in the (still then HEAVILY sanctioned and VERY illegal) uranium enrichment centrifuges for the nuclear programs being run by the state over there, and the main reason to not do trade with any specific suspect groups over there. Once she found that out, she refused to put her signature on any papers going out there, and for damn good reason. (As far as I know, that company no longer exists for, I believe unrelated reason.)
Extra fun fact: apparently, (since this was pre-2001) one of the names on my mom's company's client list was none other than Osama Bin-Laden, who was running Al-Quaeda. When the towers got hit and the names were first being released, my mom and one of her old coworkers called each other up trying to remember if they did indeed at one point do business with them. The more you know.
TLDR
@@mosesfresi6830 a company my mom used to work for used to ship stuff to Al-Qaeda post gulf war & pre 9/11and they almost got busted by the DHS
That's wild
Still remember when the news broke, the scale of it was insane. Wonder how many similar softwares have been developed but not yet discovered..
Man that outro was a vibe.
His editing/visuals are out of this world. It makes the story feel so much more alive, I have no idea how he does it. Does he make all the images himself? Either way these videos are insanely impressive. Very fun to watch and very informative. 😊
Watch until the end, there are credits. Disrupt is a team.
Crazy to think some person you meet at defcon could be a Stuxnet dev, you know they go there.
So glad you guys are still going strong; keep up the awesome content!
It’s incredible to think that something as intangible as code can have such a tangible impact on our world. This video really highlights the power and potential danger of digital weapons. The level of sophistication and effectiveness of Stuxnet is both impressive and terrifying. It’s amazing to see how far technology has come and the potential it holds for both good and bad. The production quality of this video is top-notch. It’s like watching a high-end documentary. Keep up the great work! I’m constantly amazed by these videos' quality and depth of information. You guys are doing an amazing job at educating and informing your audience. The visuals in this video are stunning! They bring the story to life and make it even more engaging.
Incredible as always. Malware and technology uploads are my favorite from you guys.
i'm loving this animation style! the mix of collage, more cartoony 3D, manga panels, etc. make for a more interesting watch to me. :)
This was excellent, i was wondering when you were gonna do the stuxnet video. The animations were so clean!
your videos are next level binge watched all of the computer ones. love how you explain it visually and so technically
I love this channel, such interesting and obscure topics always so thoroughly explained and explored. Bravo.
this new video signals to me that you guys are back. legitimatly gives me the same feels it did about a year or go so, i wish you guys luck on recovering your momentum in the algorythm :D
Can you summarize what happened with the old narrator? I gather he did something against the company/group, but I am out of the loop.
@@extragoogleaccount6061 iirc he without his other co-owners/co-creators permission tried to pretty much create a invesment scheme scam to get people/viewers to invest/dump money into disrupt with a bunch of false numbers. it hurt disrupts trust and image for a while but hes been since removed from the company and what not. memories hazy and what not but im pretty surr thats what happened.
@@extragoogleaccount6061 he basically tried to take over the entirety of the company, racked up huge debt to the other owner he couldnt pay, then tried to open up 'investments' into the company which he would secretly use to pay his personal debt. Got found out. Got absolutely blasted by the public. The co owner got the channel back and the scammer was removed from the company
Dudes, you are on somewhat unachievable level of production. Brilliant masterpiece. I am shocked, bewildered and overwhelmed.
I love your channel and your historical computer virus related videos. I just gotta say I noticed the narrative had a bit more focus this time around and it made things a lot easier to follow. Sometimes with past videos I am insanely entertained but a bit confused, this time around I don't really have any questions!
I think this is the last of this guys narrative speaking, Jak should fully own the channel now (The other spokesperson) Unless it’s back to normal.
@Joseph What happened? I'm not updated on the story.
Great video! I hope Disrupt is here to stay, keep up the great work!
Awesome breakdown! I love seeing your videos pop up
Love the spy being used as the “inside person”
Bro you have no business being so thoughtful with the editing for us. Like wow great attention to detail!
What a perfect topic for Disrupt to cover, I am so happy with the end result too :D you did awesome!
I asked for this in the comments of the BonziBuddy video! 😁 I am STOKED that it's finally here!
Thank you for all you do, especially creating such a badass channel!
These are some of my favorite videos to watch. Incredibly edited, and very interesting!!
Stuxnet: *infects every corner of the world*
Government officials starting the meeting in the Situation Room: "Well, we've done all we can do"
First time viewer! Really like your editing style and as a compositor myself I understand the work that went into things. Many layers and effects and transitions - but it wasn't overwhelming or too much. That takes a certain level of finesse that I appreciate! Thanks for the video and the hard work
The production quality in your videos is absolutely insane. I don't know how you do it. This is one of the most underrated channels I've seen, which is kinda weird to say about a channel with over a million subscribers, but with the sheer amount of effort and artistry that goes into every upload, this channel is deserving of far more than that.
Also, how come Disrupt isn't partnered with Nebula? I have a Nebula subscription and these are exactly the kinds of videos I love to watch on it.
Its because of controversy
Love these videos!! Keep up the amazing work!!
love to see you guys still putting out bangers :)
A living piece of engineering that had Authentic (not forged) keys from Seimens Communications, some have stated the way it was written as it was publicly released an is open-source, was written as if from parables of the Talmud. A lot more goes into this, great video, but underneath the surface, stuxnet was and is the world's first open-source, digital weapon with pages upon pages of code. Undoubtedly so, a modern masterpiece to the testament of the digital world. I think when people hear Stuxnet that know Cybersecurity, know it's not some generated piece of randomware. Very great channel, definitely subscribed!
Amazing video! I love how you bounced back!
Still killing it 👍 great and informative! Production value is still amazing!
I absolutely love the edit at 12:59 to 13:03 ! Awesome work you guys! =D
Really, really well done video editing. I don't know who helps you put together the visuals but they're always banger ❤🔥
Amazing video. I've seen other videos on this but this is the best
I absolutely adore the aspect ratio of the video, its a small thing but sets it apart enough to make it special. Thats what makes this channel special, the small details.
Always love it when this channel uploads
Good to see a new video from this channel
Nice, video, much like the older ones, I really enjoyed the dual story videos, I would love to see them return
I love these videos so much, especially the cybersecurity ones
amazing production quality.
Love the videos and I know the other guy left but I miss his narration voice. It was sooo good.
This channel is so underrated, can’t wait to see this video blow up 🔥🔥🔥
Love the vids man genuinely make my day so much better when I see a disrupt upload keep up the good work mate
5:08 my favorite episode of The Rehearsal
man this is like so close to what I like about a disrupt video.
pretty cool
The love of rootkits has amplified. Current rootkits are so sophisticated they can control the news.
What is youtube if not a digital weapon. Its gone from illuminating and eductional to moving people on to less and less intellignet subjects in the past few years, it plays the long game
How is this the first time I've seen this channel?? The storytelling and visuals are amazing
Zero Days. The documentary about Stuxnet is worth the watch. Very well done.
Great visuals, great voice, great storytelling. Your video is awesome!
Hot damn this is what I follow Disrupt for. Ggs man and great video!
Shoutout to the person doing the visuals
Yooo nice video but that outro music was actually so killer! Got me bobbing my head at work!
Before I finish the video, THANK YOU for the wide video. It looks so cool on my tall screen. My immersion is reaching new levels.
Loved the editing of this video
I hope this channel blows up again. Amazing content.
A perfect documentary as usual my friend!
Every day Disrupt uploads is a good one
channel will never be the same. I just cant get used to the new voice
Yet another banger from disrupt🔥
Keep that high quality content up mate!👑🔥
Oh boy what a wonderful day when you upload 🙏🏾
I live right next to oak ridge, they always tell eveyone it is a nuclear power research and general engineering facility. But my grandfasther worked there and used to tell me about the nuclear wepon research happening there, its so cool to learn more about what they were doing there. He passed away when i was very young.
it's *technically* a nuclear facility, but it mostly happens out of town, not much left here my dude. my grandpa currently works for the national labs and i live in town with him, but it's weirdly surreal hearing about how nuclear bombs partly originated here, but nowadays barely anyone even remembers this place, and it shows :/
Your video production skills are PHENOMENAL. Please teach me 🙏
Happy that you're posting again♥️♥️♥️
Keep going guys! This is great work
*guy
your narration has really improved jordan
Not going to lie but those are the best editors I've ever seen. Absolute high-quality video.
holy shit, the visuals and story telling is amazing !
Nice Job, totally well elaborated😊🎉
another great vid💯💯
7:30 DISRUPT SPY TF2 REFERENCE YO
Great video guys keep up the good work
These videos are too good to be free 😂 Dusrupt has amazing editing skills and the stories he tells are interesting so much that sometimes I forget to like
I recall watching another documentary where the host and narrator demonstrated Stuxnet live on their laptop. It could live on your computer and you wouldn't know because it was completely benign; the only way it would activate is if it was on a very specific Siemens pump that Iran used in the enrichment process, where it would overtakes the commands and do what it was designed to do.
I swear, Disrupt is just the best. Everything I watch from you guys is soo enjoyable, thank you
One of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen
man i miss the old 30 minute, 3 story videos..with a good narrator..
Visuals are crazyyyy
Amazing video edit

Thank goodness disrupt is making a comeback.
I am amazed by the fact that you dont have millions of views. Your videos are, have been and will be amazing!
12:58 haha nice, bluelock. I love that anime
I BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE
You didnt really explain that this malware was designed to attack specific programs on specific hardware that only Iran would have had. That was the beauty of this virus. It was so targeted....
keepin up with amazing content, love it.
this editing brings back the adult swim off the air vibes
That's some mean code
