I loved all these table & pots paintings. One pot on a stove made me suddenly cry. Memories of a dear aunt's Pots on her stove. She used turf and wood as fuel. Thank you for inspiring me to paint.
Hi Deb, thanks. This is one of my favorite videos. We had so much fun with the group making these weird coffee pots. Such an interesting artist. Albert
Yes, this was very interesting. I love your videos. I was surprised how much I appreciated this guy’s work after watching this. And I thought your final painting was terrific!
Hi Kathe, thanks. I love to hear you learned to like the coffee pots of Klaas Gubbels. In a way they are funny but the process around it makes them interesting. The group learned to like him too. Happy painting and thanks for posting your comment, Albert
Hi Maryam, thank you. It was a bit of a gamble to choose a relatively unknown artist, but you can also learn from his way of working. Have a great day, Albert
Hi Franca, thanks. I will look into Slavko Kopac, looks interesting. And thanks for the tip, they are always welcome. Enjoying my coffee at the moment, 😉. Have a nice say, Albert
Hi Albert. This video was funny and educational. I liked your use of humor to further develop our understanding and appreciation of Klaas Gubbel’s style. Thanks so much and I am as always looking forward to you next video.
Hi Salim, thanks, nice to hear. I have a sweet spot for artists with a dedication to paint the same subject over and over again for years. Like Giorgio Morandi for instance. And Klaas Gubbels. Have a nice day, Albert
Haha, Hi Cliff, I really love to hear this. I really had a lot of fun making it, perhaps that helps to make a better video. Thanks for letting me know. Bye, Albert
Very interesting. Never heard of him. Hard to get interest when concentrating on such a narrow subject matter. Liked you presentation of his work. A bit crazy is good for art. Breaks down barriers.
Hi Susan, he's world famous in the Netherlands 😉. It looks so approachable and is very recognizable. People over here know the images but not always his name. I found my way to make a lesson and it worked. There is so much interesting art to show, I only have to find a way to make it interesting to paint. Thanks for the comment. Bye, Albert
Albert, you are a funny man :) I enjoyed this video a great deal. I didn't "get it" at first, but as usual your explanations really helped. I appreciate his work a bit better now. I appreciate all your time and effort. From a very beautiful Sunday morning here in Alabama, I hope you have a great week and as always, I look forward to next week.
Hi Rebecca, thanks. Over here we have storms and rain. Usually the weather is opposite of yours. Yes, this art takes a few steps to like it. But it was nice to show how they all progressed to interesting paintings at the end of the evening. This is what I like about teaching, especially at a beginner's level. 4 of them never painted since high school, but it is hard to tell it from their paintings. See you next Sunday, bye, Albert
Hallo Albert, ich bin gerade dabei alle Deine Videos anzuschauen. Dieses gefällt mir besonders gut. Einige Tische und Kannen Deiner Teilnehmer haben sich in Tiere verhandelt.
