Ah this takes me back... I always spent like 10 mins trying to push that red bear out of the way, then I'd just plug in my headphones, lie back listen to that song for hours ^.^
I remember that as well. Truly makes me wonder how I know kids 6 plus who are still not independent enough to even play a simple video game and keep an attention span
"I am Nayru, Oracle of Ages. You are holding an instrument called the Harp of Ages. I do not know you but it is not by mere chance that you now hold that harp. You are a hero chosen by the currents of time. Your arrival means I am not in this age any longer. I hid the harp here, knowing this could happen. I entrust this harp to you !"
"Oh, BTW, I COULD tell you the song that will let you go back and forth though time without needing portals, but I'm not going to." I'd assume in-universe that might be too much power to give to a stranger who hasn't proven themselves yet.
@@Skornish That's not my argument. Later on after you save her she teaches you a song to travel freely without needing portals but at the start she only teaches you the restricted version. Saving her would be easier if you weren't restricted to only portal travel but it doesn't work from a gameplay perspective
I was 12 when Oracle of Ages came out; I tried it out with Walmart's Game Boy Color and I loved it. I got the game for my 13th birthday and Oracle of Seasons for Christmas. I would still have those games today if they weren't destroyed in a bus fire in 2005.
Get an emulator, or get a 3DS or 2DS, because they're on the eShop for super cheap there. I know the originals were lost, but you can thank them for the amazing memories and replay them on your 3DS.
Meh. only way i could see them come in is after whatever evil is fully vanquished or if Hyrule is just straight up gone and they come back to fix the world and restaure it. Thats the thing with whats essentially primordials that left the world its that sh** really needs to have went bad for them to appear
I hate it how people don't appreciate these old games. As games come out, more classics are forgotten. People just stop playing the old ones. Many people think that if you beat one dungeon in the newest game, you've seen the entire series. There's still a lot of "true" fans who play a lot of the games, but even more only care about the next big thing and "how great the graphics are". I loved the eariler games, and listening to this, now, I still love the soundtrack as much as I love the series.
Ive been looking through a few alternate versions of this, of their nice, but for some reason they dont capture the same feeling i get from the original
I discovered this song while playing this game on my cousins game boy color. I left it on while I fell asleep for 3 months straight. Found again in 2023. Long live Nayru's theme.
Many years ago I heard this while playing it on my berry red game boy color as a young child, the beautiful 8 bit memories cannot be underrated it needs to be remembered
Favorite scene in the game. Its just so legendary. Link meets Nayru and they sing and dance. And there is actually a lot of detail in this picture. You can even see the triforce symbol on Link's hand. Oracle of Ages and Seasons are still my favorite Zelda games to date.
I remember playing this over and over again, with my earphones. So beautiful! What a game! I played this many years but unfortunately never succeeded in finishing it.
How can 8-bit sounds create such a powerful yet magical melody is beyond me. All I know is that this is probably the most beautiful melody you can create with these limitations.
I got this game in 3rd grade. First Zelda game I ever played. This song is my childhood, and the introduction of Zelda. I used to scroll through the text REALLY slowly during this scene just to listen to this song haha. Yes, this is a passion comment.
I remember sitting there for ages just to listen to this beautiful song on my gameboy. It's strange but it's almost like I can hear her singing in this. Not just the 4 bit tune but I hear a beautiful voice. This game is a master piece.
Oh my God, I love this. I first played this game when I was 4, and it wasn't just my first Zelda game, it was the first game I ever played. Oracle of Ages and Seasons will always have their places in my heart because of this.
Hearing this song for the first time, after I popped in that old game cartridge made me feel like I could take on the world. As magical as her voice is, Naryu is overshadowed by many but she'll always be my favorite female character from Legend of Zelda. First game of my childhood and I loved it so much.
such an angelic lullaby... even years later after playing this on the gameboy color, and not hearing it, i still hum this tune on a regular basis. idky, but this song has struck a soft spot in me ;_;
Omg 14 years ago 😱, today I turned 14, I asked for a Nintendo Switcj online subscription for gift. I just wanted to play old Zelda gamers. I played this one because It recently released on switch, even after playing Breath of te wild or Tears of the kingdom, this was the first Time I heard this song. I really like It, even if Is an 8-bit arrangement. This song Is beautiful, I can't believe how fast Time pass, I really enjoyed this game. Now I searched up this theme as "Nayrus Song", and here I am, I felt identificated by tour comment.
I got really, really high before i listened to this. The feeling was...I don't know how to describe it. I found myself in a trance, just captured by this beautiful music...then I started to hear a girl singing...and i couldn't move...her lyrics were commanding me to do something, but i don't know what it was...I just sat there, enchanted by the music....and when it stopped playing, i was snapped out of the spell. I had no memory that anything happened. It truly felt like i was being......hypnotized. And yet, i didn't mind one bit.
I think I like this 8 bit version better. When its played with 8 bit you can really hear the different tones and music parts playing. It's what makes this song so nice to listen to.
This song made me really sad especially because it took me over a week just to get past the first part of this game. Even had a dream I was searching for Nayru and this song was in the background and I woke up crying.
I just bought this game on Nintendo's e-store. The instant I got to this song, I remembered the very first time I played this game back in 2001. Such a wonderful song.
Man im almost in tears and im in my 30's. its been way to long since ive heard this. I remember both adventures. Recently went to an emulator website where these games are free. Nostalgia time.
The Oracle games are soooooo good. They definitely don't get enough love. Completing a Linked Game is one of the best video game experiences I've ever had.
In theory, Nayru was a musician, and Din was just a dancer. However, if they were to exist in this culture today, Din would be more popular. That's so unjust....

_Tell me what you feel..._ _Tell me what you see..._ _If you are awake, then you can see inside the veil..._ _Breathe into your hand_ _Watch your body stand_ _And realize, it seems,_ _It might be just a dream..._
Tell me what you see... Tell me what you feel... If you are awake, you can hear me from your veil... Breathe into your hands... Watch your body stand... And realize it seems, It is all just a dream...
This is the exact song with the original quality too. Bravo on preserving the music except for the ending. @w@ It even has that slight echo effect. But, I would suggest listening to it over the GBC. Echo effect.
you know even though this song is 8-bit and now we have these amazing awesome music on games that make it awesome i still love to just sit and listen to this song infact i haven't played this game in about 5 years and i found myself today humming/wistleing this song xD
I have downloaded Oracle if ages today and the same song was there, even 2 times (first when seeing her for first time and when you are going to grab harp of ages)
I wished she's reapear in another game. This was my first real Zelda game :(
She was in minish cap but it was more of a cameo than anything
Mine too. I have a deep affection for this game. The soundtrack and this song in particular always transport me back to that time of my childhood.
I wish she earrape in another game
The game is found on 2 ds on eshop
Same here
Ah this takes me back... I always spent like 10 mins trying to push that red bear out of the way, then I'd just plug in my headphones, lie back listen to that song for hours ^.^
This
This, a thousand times, this.
The bear moves out of your way when you've talked to all of the other NPC's.
Someone give kaddisfly12 a medal
Same good times
She's a really talented singer. Most people have only one voice, but she has two voice channels lmao
Well she IS a goddess
@@Freedmoon44 damn str8!! 😁😁🎶🎶❤️❤️❤️
🤣🤣🤣
Because it's based on true events
She's a mongolian throat singer
The fact that you can not be bored by a song that actually repeats every ten seconds is amazing
Frfr
About 15 seconds, but yeah
Nayru likes singing.
Din likes dancing.
Farore likes trains...
I've never known Farore. Because I've never known the other Dins, and Naryus. Hehe
Does she/do the Farores really love trains?
It's a reference to asdf movies check it out x)
Farore likes Secrets actually.
I actually wonder what kind of essences we would have to find in an Oracle of Secrets game
As well as what would be the main game mechanic
Oh no! A train crashes through the Maku Tree! 😂
Seasons and Ages... still by far one of the best....
I still get captivated by this... even did when I was three. Is that odd?
no, i feel the same, i dont know why though
Rurike I think that was the idea when it was produced: It was always meant to captivate.
Nope. Its an enchanting melody.
I remember that as well. Truly makes me wonder how I know kids 6 plus who are still not independent enough to even play a simple video game and keep an attention span

I got to wing dungeon, then I quit cause holy crap I am bad at 2D Zelda games
Nayru has a mystical voice that can capture the hearts of people and animals.
This is one of those tunes where I can't express how I feel when I listen to it... '-'
I think it's enchanting

still a banger in 2019, folks
doctir daddy yep for sure
Thanks to Link's Awakening on Switch, I hope so mutch they'll do a remake of Oracle and Age too ! I'd love to hear it again while playing.
hello from the other side
i see you commented this before the great apocalypse
Still a banger today
There is something captivating about this song.
Michael Davis I think that was always the point. :)
sooooo many covers miss that epic harmony at the end, but to me, it's kind of the most important piece of the song. THAT'S how incredible her voice is
its out right now for the switch in the gb app
We NEED to see her on Breath of the Wild, Farore and Din too!!
Well, did the dragons/spirits cut it? Perhaps not

Found again in 2023. Long live Nayru's theme.
Marin: "I'm the best singer in the Zelda series."
*Nayru approaches*
Nayru: "Hold my Harp of Ages please?"
I was a little kid when this song came out and I used to play the beginning scene over and over just to hear this song.

Nayru and her song were my formal introduction to the series, and that reason alone is good enough to make OoA my favorite tLoZ game.
Oracle of ages is so underrated
It's such a good, solid game. And the music is beautiful :3
I remember playing this over and over again, with my earphones. So beautiful! What a game! I played this many years but unfortunately never succeeded in finishing it.

I swear there are so many underrated Zelda songs. Like why does no one ever talk about this one?!
Imagine if Nintendo decided to remake the Oracle games and we get to hear Nayru's song get the same treatment as Marin's Ballad of the Wind Fish...
bruh T_T
I screwed around with this game on an emulator for about 5 minutes, and now this song has been stuck in my head for a week lol

Better lyrics than Justin Bieber
Boom roasted
And there are not even lyrics and it's already better than Justin Beiber
Even 4 years ago that joke was extremely old and tired
I curse you!
And there’s no lyrics damn he got roasted
I love this cut scene where Nayru is singing, she seems so pure and beautiful. This was always my favorite zelda game. Snes n N64 ones come close tho!

one of my favorite zelda songs of all time
Why do I feel nostalgia for a game I've never played ?
its really amazing how much soul they could wring out of that puny little sound chip in the GBC.
This has been stuck in my head since last night. o-o
Aw, i bought this and my best friend bought seasons. Nostalgia!!!

this song: *touches the soul

Nayru is singing two parts at once, SHE'S POSSESSED!!!

so charming...
