Yeah that dress ain't worth no 60 can get the same thing on shein for 15-20
This treat yourself mentality is weird for vietnamese,
@@HelloOnepiece it's weird for a lot of people (myself included,) but that doesn't mean it's any less true. If you work hard you deserve a treat every once in a while.
@@Monroe15 Shein and other fast fashion brands are terrible for the planet. If that's all you can afford then I understand (although depending on where you live there are better, still cheap, options. You just have to look.) But if you can afford to invest in a higher quality brand, that clothing is better for you and the planet in many ways.
I had the opposite experience in Mexico. The women clothing were too small and short for me. They catered to petite women. I am 5'8" and I feel you. Lol
Mexican here. They don't cater to petite women. Mexican women are on average short. Latinas and Asian women are very short and tiny. Being 5'8"ft means you are a GIANT for both men and women.
I am the same height so I know....
My husband is 5’9 and had a deployment to Korea for a military exercise, and on a down day, they were permitted to visit Seoul… He went and found a really fashionable woolen winter coat that he purchased, but the biggest size they had only JUST fit him!!! I couldn’t image trying to buy women’s clothes in a country with traditionally smaller body stature, as I’m even taller than my husband, and he had the worst time finding anything to fit him 😂
As a tall Mexican, I know the struggle! I am 5'5, which is tall for a woman here. I've never owned a jacket that just fits, haha.
As a Mexican and petite women the clothes here in México are still too big and large for me, and most of the brands are from the USA
@@kittyythecatThats not true. There's plenty of regular sized people. My family are all from Central America and they indeed do cater to the pint sized as they are the majority. But nor everyone in LatAm is a midget!
One take away for me is that apparently i need to be buying pants in Germany for length
The gray dress was actually gorgeous. You have to accessorize it. Red heels, big silver jewelry...
Buy second hand! Every find is unique and always less stressful with low prices
I still haven’t found second hand stores in Germany. Could you tell me how are they called? Until now I’ve seen only some kind of second hands with antiquarian things and so expensive.
@@caty9779try a „Flohmarkt“ instead!
The "bit old" one was so timeless yet modern and looked amazing on you 😍 It looks like it would keep you so warm in the winter too!! I understand if it's not your style but I love it so much I wish I could get it myself
That gray dress was beautiful on you❤
I love the “bit old” sweater 😅 but even tho I like color, I LOVE grey & black so I’d be in heaven.
Oh my god I relate!!! I’m a petite 5’0 American woman and my husband is Vietnamese and is 5’11. I never fit into clothes in the US, they’re gigantic. I have to order from Asian brands. When we visit Vietnam, he can’t find anything that fits him, but I feel like I’m finally home
That is so true! I am large in Philippines small in US. I am 5'4'' and in Philippines i am a giant always at the ver end of the line in school. I am not kidding. All people around me are 5 flat or 4'9.
I'm a short Asian American, and often buy size large kids' clothes, and size 2-2.5 kids' shoes because the standard size 5 women's shoes are too big.
And westerners complain that asians are fatphobic for selling what fits the general Asian body type in Asia. We have fat people here too and they wear clothes just fine. It's just that the body types between east and west are different in general.
@@user-j1spswelskisj they have to take in account that in most Asian countries (mostly females and some men) also have different body proportions. Just like me as a 5'4'' girl, i think i have a ''short'' thighs and legs and i have to wear heels to make my legs look long and proportioned to my wide shoulders and hips. But if you will look at some Asian, they are ''short'' 4'10 but have good proportion

Ok but the last dress is SO CUTE on you
No, you don’t cut the trousers. You walk on them until they’re brown and wet and soggy and muddy along the bottom and they have a tear along the seam.
I made this with my favourite trousers. A old man at Aldi looked at me (and my trousers) as if he wanted to kill me 😂🤣
Same bro 😂 where I live there are tons of Baustellen and now each time I take the EV11 to the Neustadt I have to walk through the mud to get to the Alnatura and my pants are muddy and ripped at the bottom 😂it's kind of a a look tbh 😂😂

Noooooo! Cut them! I cringe when I see that bc I always think of what “nastinies” are clinging to the bottom & creeping up the back of y’all’s calves! 😱😂
As a brazilian living in Europe, I’m SHOCKED with the fact that our realities look a LOT alike. I have the same problems with food, clothes and culture. I love your videos because I can see how tropical countries are so different, but so similar at the same time
My Filipina wife experiences the same. I go just the opposite when we are back in the Philippines. I am 187cm when the average guy is around 163 and women 151. Finding anything that fits including seats on public transit is awful

We have great second hand shops! It's good for the purse and for the planet. And more colourful too!
Ohhh give me some good shops (even if in other cities, maybe Berlin?) here in Regensburg we only have a couple and I never find anything! (I’m used to London amazing second hand shops in every corner!) 😅
In most asian and middle eastern cultures buying second hand is a BIG no no and sometimes taboo.
@@delaslight well it shouldnt be, second hand is great for the environment and there is also a lot of second hand shops in asian countries, they are usually just very curated and for specific styles and its not like second hand is such a terrible thing that you cant consider it, esp if you live in a different country, thats like saying mental health is a taboo thing in asian countries, doesnt mean its a good thing that its not more openly talked about.

I can relate 100%. As a Spanish woman living in the Netherlands, I've been through everything that you're describing, and it is sooo frustrating. Lately I've resolved to give up shopping in the Netherlands and I just do it in Spain when I go visit the family.
In the Netherlands sell the big brand from Spain too. I am 1.61 mts and I could buy clothes in Holland without problems.
@@soledad9925 the big brand? Could you be more specific, please?

Idk if you have many in Germany but in the UK I started shopping in charity shops/ second hand clothes stores and it makes buying clothes way easier
Same…and it is environmentally friendly and you have seldom any shrinkage because the clothes have been washed before
What about hygiene though? From what I know of thrift stores clothes may or may not be washed before giving them away( depends on the person making donation)Also there are some diseases which might persist even if one person had it and donates without washing( if clothes are lumped/ stores together In a bin)

The only time you need to go to a department store/clothes outlet is for good shoes. For the rest, go to secondhand stores.
There's an art to buying second hand clothes which I've never learnt. I can never see stuff I'd want to wear - or if I do, it's in size ultra-short because the original owner has lopped several inches off the bottom of the legs or the sleeves.
Some people can find great things second hand and good on them.
I think Uyen may just need to learn how to sew.
