The screws between the carbs are the sync screws... the ones on the bottom are low speed fuel mix

Wrong screws, those are float bowl screws, the air to fuel screws are below it

Hello I have a question a lot of the videos I see on UA-cam does not describe do you have to sync all four of them again or you just straight installed I have a 03 Yamaha will stop me from doing this would be if I have to sync them

Per the instructions they do not say to sync them; however, since you are changing out the diameters of the individual jets, I would say it is wise to resync them. It's not necessarily required to complete the swap and you bike should run with no issues afterwards (at the least my bike worked well). Just make sure you have the proper jets installed for the specified cylinders.

If you have a 2003 then you're fuel injected, not carborated. Meaning you don't need to sync anything the computer does it all for you. If you're having issues, having the ECU flashed or even a dyno jet power commander, not to be confused with a jet kit.
Carbs use jets, fuel injection uses fuel injectors controlled by the computer.

Do you need to get a dynojet kit if your installing a K&N filter or do you only need to replace the spark plugs?

    • @vincesantilli3736

gangstafly5000 you dont need to change the spark plugs or do a jet kit installation when changing to a K&N filter. only need to change filter and plugs when doing a jet kit

gangstafly5000 problably have to get a bigger Jet cause the k&n filter gets more air in the engine and your mixture is going to get lean

Nope, those are the float bowl drain screws. Your pilot screws, that you do adjust for pilot mixture, are blanked off. You can remove the blanking piece so you can adjust.

right i was watching just to watch when he said they were the adjusting screws i immediately no stopped listening to him and came to comments to see who else pointed out his wrong.

Don't screw the pilot/mixture screw tight like he says. Let it come to a gentle stop or you will f**k the o ring.

HORNET6 wrong terminology,,, you have a pilot jet,,,, and seat,,,, you have a needle jet and seat,,,, you have a main fuel-air mixture screw,,,,

I wanna kno if you ruined your carbs? I really hope you didnt drill out the air/fuel mixture screw and try to RIP it out. Also the bowl drain screw doesn't adjust the carbs... the screw you wanted to drill out is your adjusting screws🤦‍♂️.

I believe there is a misunderstanding in what I was saying. You don't drill out the mixture screw that defeats the whole purpose of it being there. There is a an aluminum did that covers the screw Eric must be drilled out, not the screw itself.
I still have the bike and ride it everyday. The only things I've done to the carbs since posting this video is sync them and changed the jets because I moved to lower elevation.

That is totally the wrong way,,,, watch Shane Connelly Moto School Western Iowa Tech motorcycle and Powersports program,,, at least five major key items overlooked,,, if you don't have a set of calipers with a depth gauge and the button to change it from millimeters ,,to,, thousandths,, to set float level height exactly doesn't matter what Jetson tuning you do,,, there's a hidden micro particle filter under float needle seat,,, that must be removed throw it away or at least cleaned,,, every jet must be taken out cleaned and the port flushed out,,,. Carbs must be bench balanced,,, a 12 gauge solid copper wire works best,,,,Yes the jet kit is easy but they don't tell you about the five major things you must do before installing the jet kit,,,,,, !!! If your jetting for no baffles,,, you will lose low-end torque and horsepower,,,, and you will be lucky to get it back at Redline,,. ???

Rick Simpson Thanks for the additional information. I performed the swap using the provided instructions, which did not go into detail or even talk about the additional adjustments. the bike runs well and I'm still able to hit red line easy in any gear. The performance increase is also noticeable.

I’ll say this without getting into a pissing match with you, yes “some” cv carbs have little micro filter screens to catch debris before reaching the needle and seat. However this Keihin carbs do not have said filters. Also float height is not set by a micrometer or dial caliper. It is set with the carbs on the bike and fuel in the bowl. I’ll will send you the file from the service manual if you’re interested that way your information is correct before you just sound dumb from a useless UA-cam video on CV carbs.
