Coucou Jay, ca va? Awesome bike ride! As one goes south of the BFM along the Seine, there's nothing much really to see, just a long stretch of industrial zone buildings but there are new buildings popping up. I see you passed by the Chinagora, a Chinese-styled hotel complex + restaurant in Alfortville, I know of it because a good friend of mine, Vanessa, lives across the river from it, in Charenton-le-Pont and her building has a great view of it. Actually where the Chinagora is at is where the Seine splits up in 2 rivers, becoming the Seine and the Marne. If you ever get a chance, south of Alfortville is the area known as Maisons-Alfort, there you will find the famous musée Fragonard, located at the Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire de Maisons-Alfort, it's an awesome museum, a bit eery because there are a lot of animals in skeletal form, mouldings and natural abnormalities, and the famous « Écorchés de Fragonard» (Fragonard skinned creatures), bonne fin de journée, salut!

I have had lunch at that Chinese restaurant! It's part of the big hotel, which deals only in Chinese package tours and I think has official links to China (not sure!) I used to work over the river and got curious about it. Did feel a bit like being in China!

Indeed a fun and busy day! I’ve been wondering if people on bikes or jogging (neither of which I did when I lived in Paris, heh) say the equivalent of “on your left” when passing, or if you just use the bike bell, or what. Good luck with the building project!
Water based stains don't throw out a lot of odors or volatiles... bought some for my wine rack, but ended up leaving it natural (redwood). You can stain before of after putting it together, but if you do it first, you will have to do a bit of touching up...
Tell your lady friend who tried to ride the bike that Van Moof makes a shorter version, the X3, for shorter people. You have the tall version, for people 5'8" and taller, it appears.
How about doing 🤔 a video on Paris as 'graffiti city'? I was shocked 20 years ago and it looks worse now. I don't understand why the city doesn't clean it up and make it a high crime.
Stain the wood outdoors in a ( not too) public space - act like you’re an artist practicing for a low key real-time installation so people don’t ask if you have remission

It blows my mind that in a city with beautiful historical architecture and beautiful modern people who are so stylish, that the modern architecture is so god awful.

Water based paints & stains don't give off fumes, dry more quickly & brushes are really easy to clean. Stopped using oil based paints years ago.
I might have to live with it unstained for a while and see how that goes haha - considering how much is going on atm

I see white egg-crate foam panels attached to the underside of your bed loft in your work area to eliminate the reverb in the tight workspace.

Maybe a light bell, but they tend to silently fly past and scare you 😂
