We went for a Kildwick Microloo Composting toilet - www.kildwick.com/en/microloo-white But what do you prefer… composting toilet or chemical toilet? Thank you for supporting our content Kildwick 🫶🏼
I just bought the separator for 60eur that looks similar to the one in your composting toilet and intent to build the rest on my own, 400+gbp for the toilet is way too much to spend for a box, few hinges and magnets...
If you wrap your roller in a plastic carrier bag it won’t end up rock hard by the time you do the second coat. That’s how I’ve always done it when painting the house
Thanks for the tip 😊 unfortunately this doesn’t work with raptor paint due to the strong solvents contained within the paint. If you leave the paint on the roller it dissolves it or goes rock solid depending on the amount left on the roller. Sadly, each roller head is advised for a one time use only.
That is gutting it doesn’t work for raptor paint. Btw I’m loving the videos, I’m trying to get ideas for when I finally do my build with my daughter so eating up all the videos I can find for idea lol
amazing job with the raptor paint - if anyone else wants raptor professionally painted on inside bathrooms or full van resprays we can do this no problem.
Wow, I love your little wet closet, it’s perfect!! So glad to see Sam’s back! You guys have done an amazing job on the build! May God bless y’all and keep you in His loving care🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
Thank you Bunnie, I hope you’ve been keeping well 🤗. Sam is certainly back and taking one for the team doing the raptor paint. It was a tedious task but he nailed it, well we still need to test it but I’m confident in him 😂
Nic, Sam absolutely fab meeting you this weekend at van fest, you guys rock! I loved the banter! Dork looked amazing! Video does not do it justice!! I'll message when my video is out. Don't forget Sam's annual leave 😂 Steve #telfordvanbuilders
Great meeting you both last weekend! The van looked amazing! Your bathroom looks great I've never seen Raptor being used for showers nice idea to add a little colour and personality to the room! And the wood-stained toilet is pretty perfect! 😊
Stephanie Rose here from Florida! Sure enjoyed the video thank you great job 🎉well done welcome sign over the door well maybe that's a little too much LOL😂
I love the use of raptor paint for tanking your shower room. How is it holding up after some use? Would you do anything different if you did it again? I'm just starting my very first van conversion, wish me luck
Thank you 😊 we got the idea from Van Monkeys who actually popped up a story today saying how it’s been 2 years for them now and all good. Honestly, I wouldn’t do anything different and would 100% do it again ☺️
Hi Nic and Sam me and my partner have built a van and we are doing our finishing touches. After watching this video I saw you put some really awesome decals around your lights in the ceiling I was wondering where you got these from . Many thanks ❤ your amazing ❤
Wooo! Bet you’re glad to be at the end of it! The spotlight decor is incredible isn’t it, they’re made by Sam at kind.campa on Instagram 🤗. She’s paused her Etsy but is taking orders direct on her socials ❤️
Great work! Great alternative with the paint so you don’t have to install a shower pan and plumbing etc! Looking to build mine with as little fuss so really drawing on inspiration here! Thank you as always xx
Thank you Sophie! Yesss, I’ve done a full PVC and tiled bathroom in my first van and this one was certainly much easier to install and lighter in weight overall 🤗
They’re not on UA-cam, they can be found on Instagram though instagram.com/vanmonkeys?igsh=MWFrbXQ5OWZ4YmZtaQ==. I’m not sure exactly where they documented the raptor paint but I’m sure if you dropped them a message, they’d be glad to help ☺️
Thank you 🤗. The door won’t be shut when showering, there is a shower curtain inside to make sure the water doesn’t spray out. We did it like that as you can’t seal the gap around the bathroom door, or at least, we don’t know how to so we just kept it simple 🤗
Looking fab guys well done. Question how come you didn't paint the inside of the door? And I know it's not power shower levels of heat or steam but is there a fan in there or do you shower with the door open? I feel you probably covered this in another video but I forgot I love the arched door and the fact you stained it on the outside it looks so good!!
Hey Donna 🤗 we covered it on this video but there are a few reasons we didn’t do these things. We didn’t paint the back of the door because there would still be a gap around the outside of the door which water would get through. We also want the door to be open as there is no fan, the fan is just outside the bathroom so it’s best to have the door open. The space overall is small so having the door open acts as a divider which gives privacy if people are travelling with friends / family rather than as a couple. There will be a shower curtain and rail fitted to keep water properly in. I guess I just felt like it gave more of a full bathroom vibe when the door was open too as you also get to have the sink right opposite 🤗. Thank you so much! It was all inspired by our trip to Morocco and Kefalonia 🥰
@@nicroams I do remember you saying in the design phase about a shower curtain. I must have gotten distracted when you said today. I've a deaf cat that is always meowing and demanding attention when I'm watching YT lol The finishing touches we saw today look amazing too can't wait for the we finished tour :)
Thank you 🥰. They’re beautiful aren’t they! Sam from kind.campa on Instagram makes them, she’s paused her Etsy shop but still taking orders over message 🤗
Hi! I'm also thinking of painting shower areas with Raptor, have you noticed cracks in the paint in joints where it can move when driving on hilly terrain? Or is it so elastic that it can handle small movements? Regards Roger
Thanks for this! I was looking at the shower, is it not a cold water shower? You talked about it being steamy so just a bit confused and wanting to put shower in my van! Cheers x
I looked at the loo site - which one did u go for? Mini picco kit and are they worth the extra pennies ? Appreciate its better environmentally 😊 notice they even had a little cardboard one for emergency 😂 and a pic of chap sat on it whilst fishing 😮
Hi Sharon, we went for the DIY microloo, the link is in our description to the exact one but there are so many sizes so I'd pick the one that suits your space best😊. Haha, we do love their advertising, their tote bags had some fun 'poo' jokes on too 😂 We have always preferred a composting toilet vs chemical having had both due to the ease of use in all honesty. In the UK it is impossible to empty a chemical toilet except at campsites and as we wild camp 100% of the time it didn't suit our lifestyle. A composting toilet can be binned just like nappies and dog poo bags. And like you said, they are more environmentally friendly. Kildwick even stock just the parts like the separator if you want to go completely DIY too. Hope you had a good bank holiday weekend 🌞
First time viewer, just subscribed as you guys are doing amazing things. I just want to ask, did you contour the wet room floor, so that 100% of the water drains? (this is the one issue I have with building a wet room rather than using a shower tray, everywhere Iv read make it seem really hard to do)
Thank you and hello 😊. We didn’t, I got a squeegee instead to scrape the water down the drain. My thoughts were: if you’re not parked on a complete flat, the water might not flow the right way anyway. I guess if you know it’s shower day you just need to park in a way that the water flows in the drain 😄. I know not the simple answer you were looking for but just sharing why we didn’t contour the bottom in the end 😊
I have just finished my shower with raptor 3 days after the fumes are still lingering HELP ive had fan on, onions in water did you have this experience
The fumes were pretty much gone the next day from what I remember, you just need to let the space ventilate properly, three days seems excessive though!
@@nicroams I think it hasn’t helped because it was raining so doors closed, I only had fan on but today when I drove home was smelling better. Sunshine tomorrow so hopefully doors and windows open while husband fits kitchen. So pleased with the finish though can’t wait for our travels in December

None at all 😊 it’s been about 6 months now and it’s as good as new. Raptor paint is made for truck beds so it’s made to withstand vehicle movement 😊

the problem with compostable bags for your no2 is that unless they are exposed to sunlight they take around a 100 yrs plus or more to decompose
