@@ramo1824I took neomycin because I thought I had a stomach infection, stools were liquid during almost 3 weeks and had already taken everything available. Finished a whole bottle by taking the medicine like for 6 days straight. After one or two days of finishing it, it started in October 2022 and hasn’t stopped since. Actually last week began to increase (don’t know if because of another medicine I’m taking, stress, physical issues or what). First I was like you, I love surround sound and music and was very desperate for like 3 months, later I started reading about all of the people that suffer from it, even close friends shared their personal experiences when I shared mine with them, and my brain finally calmed down and then started getting used to it. Sometimes your mind doesn’t focus on it and all and you don’t even remember you hear it or have it. Give it some time, brain’s plasticity helps a lot learning by itself to mask it; it’s important not to get annoyed, frustrated or anxious and you will enjoy sounds and music again, just try not to focus too much on it. This channel and others with sounds that mask tinnitus noises with different frecuencies help A LOT mainly before going to sleep (that’s when it works for me the best). Keep calm, you got this. And thank you for sharing your experience too. We are not alone in this.

The biggest challenge for neuroscientists has been to create a treatment for tinnitus that does not create another cognitive deficit aka side effect.
The best medicine I have personally taken as needed when my tinnitus is spiking is Clonazepam.
Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine medication that increases the inhibitory effects of GABAergic circuits. This translates to calming down the nervous system, leading to effects such as reduced anxiety, sedation, and muscle relaxation reducing tinnitus in many patients.
