Hi.its good your showing people how to change the bearing because some people don't know.the rust on the old bearing must be water rust.iv change many bearings I put the in the freezer it shrink them then fit the bearing in the motor housing then give half hour to warm the bearing then fit the motor shaft.i would not hit with a hammer it could crack the magnets.another way grab a socket the same size as the bearing and a extension bar open a vice put a piece on flat wood the put the end of the motor up pressing on to the wood then put the socket and socket and extension bar get i as level as you can then turn the vice until you fill its fitted. Fitting the motor shaft iv never had to hit a shaft in as hard as you did that was a very tight bearing and you had to really hit it a lot to get it in .the only time I use a hammer is to tap the metal lips back over to hold the motor back together.that new bearing sounded to loud to me. Fitting new bearings they must be fitted good if the bearings are not fitted good and soled they will make a noise.A lot of bait boats ware the motor sits at the bottom of the boat and the shaft goes straight out all way let's water in. Some bait boats ware the motor housing and motor fit under the boat there is one rubber seal soon as that seal worn in comes water and that's the end of that motor.i have my shafts on a angle water never gets.in ever.
Lacoste Alot yep big lake boats utilities allot of off the shelf parts however they are waterproof and fit for purpose for sure. I built one of them for my father in law. Good boats in general but not well balanced front to rear, you have to put a little weight in the ear to ensure the props sit in the water correctly.

Jamie Bowler if you measure the bearing (OD Outer diameter, ID inner diameter and width) you can get them with a quick search on google, just make sure you get rubber sealed bearings.
I've got an anatec catamaran with very similar motors, and anatec want 90quid for two, what would be your advice for near like replacements, am running it on 2s batteries, might even go 3s if the next brushed motors allow me to, thinking the mtronics m600?
I’ve not seen inside an Anatec so can’t give you direct advise on the motor unfortunately, however if you are switching up to brushless then you can’t go wrong with Mtronics, it may not be cutting edge but it tried tested and very robust. I would also look at Hobbywing hardware. They have been me of the biggest ranges on the market now. Good luck

Hiya I have an old dyna-craft mk2 bait boat I'm trying to restore/ upgrade, I can't find any information on it anywhere. Do you know what size pump/motor it has and how to remove it.? Be grateful for any advice. Thanks Terry

I think my big lake bait boat has normal RC car parts inside it comes Friday interesting stuff thanks for sharing.
