One advantage to a lot of these off-body carry bags that is seldom noted (because a lot of people doing these reviews aren't there yet) is that they are often good options for parents or caretakers who need to have some key items on hand anyways, and having a place to add a weapon or defensive tool is great.
So true, if you're putting the gun back in the bag means whatever forced you to draw it's done.

Here in 2023. Offbody for me works best because most of my clothing is fitted/tailored and I print like crazy
My experience with sling bags usually ends with a sore back/shoulder. And a limited carrying capacity.
I prefer a back pack. Lots of options. And the two straps will save your back/shoulders.
Charles Cline same here. I’ve tried years ago when the trend started and I hated it. I still have 2 at home I’ll never use again.
Backpack are the best to carry, and I want a crossbody bag I go for a messenger (like Jack Bauer in 24h 😍)

I'm not a big sling bag guy, however this bag has become a great fit when exercise- walking and or hiking. Especially coupled with QVO's velcro backed holster that's easily transferable between my various Vertx bags (Gamut backpack in heather grey, Daily Essentials bag and Commuter Sling bags). Great video! I have a larger Vertx bag (Gamut) and your video helped me decide to get this sling bag. BTW, you may want to put the ballistic panel in the zipper compartment behind your holster. That way unzipping the bag doesn't drop the panel off of covering your vitals. That is how I set up my larger bag. Keep up the great work!

Never heard of you before today. I was checking out Vertx bags and this came up. WOW! What a great set up! I think I literally want to steal everything from this! It looks like such a hidden gem when trying to not look tactical/tacticool. I love the set up. I will review a couple more times but did not see ANYTHING I disliked. Way to go, sir!

Closing in on 300K subs Talon! That’s quite a feat in the time frame it took. It seems that the increase in subs from 100K - almost 300K has occurred pretty rapidly, almost quicker than 1 - 100K.

I'm curious why you didn't replace the insert in the third pouch with the backpack panel. That way you'll still have protection even if you unzip the bag completely. If it doesn't fit, Premier Body Armor makes panels specifically for this bag that fit perfectly.

I agree with Mr. Burks. I’d like to see what you have in your ifak. I’m one on four certified EMTs at my agency. And only two of us carry a ifak. You would be surprised how many people carry firearms as part of their profession and how little medical training/preparedness they have.
If you have the ability to put holes in people, you have the ability to receive holes...that goes for military, LEO and responsible concealed carriers.....

I have this bag I had it for a while it is holding up great like the day I first got it. It works well but if your a chunky guy the waist strap won't fit so well. But other than that I love it.
so in the firearm compartment, I see a red zipped area. have you tried sticking the safelife pad in that pocket? that way it stays in front of you.

U should do a video if you haven’t yet why u chose a tactical back pack to carry all ur stuff and your camera and gear instead of carrying an actual camera backpack that has the extra padding and slots for lens, camera, camera gear etc. And how u place your camera in a backpack that doesn’t have slots for an actual camera. Do u just throw your camera in or wrap ur camera in a towel and throw it in your backpack or just throw it in there???

I ride motorcycles as well: could you do a video on how you set up for cold/warm weather etc.? For instance, I carry in my vest or jacket, but it's a nuisance to quickly get you my CCW, especially with gloves on. I'm curious how you'd handle this.Thanks for everything you're doing! Great reviews!

I've been going back and forth between a commuter and transit for those days that i only need to carry minimal stuff and a full blown back pack isn't necessary. Wathcing the 2 videos on these bags is safe to say you prefer the commuter over the transit?

Nik Baret my Gamut plus is definitely water resistant! I don’t worry about rain storms but I’ve only got a laptop I worry about. Waterproofing sprays work great in layers for longevity and extra protection!
Is the strap ambidextrous? Was looking for something that would work for right shoulder carry.

See, for me, off-body carry seems more like a way to carry a backup or a suppressed pistol, not your first-response gun.

Why haven't you placed the armor in the zip up area in the back? I thought that area was for that and the plastic stiffening panel. I also thought the clips were for a tablet or small laptop. Not bashing your setup. Just wondering if it's due to not knowing or a reason like wanting quick access to the body panel for another bag etc...
It makes the bag too bulky when setup like that because that compartment is already slim to begin with

Can you speak a little more to the fit of the SafeLife Defense BackPack panel in the Transit? It sounds like it works, but can you tell me if it has to bow or anything to get in there? I ask because the width is apparently 11" and the width of the sling is apparently 11" too, and given tolerances I was wondering it if would fit according to OCD standards. :) Thanks!

I think companies should be designing sling bags more towards being worn on the front over the chest rather than pulling it around. Then it becomes more like an Alaskan guide holster and always keeps the firearm in your field of view. Plus if you're running a ballistic plate it's always over your vitals. That split second it takes to swing the thing around is enough time for a bullet to hit your chest in an active shooter scenario.

the ONLY reason i AND NUMBER ONE REASON I STAY AWAY! from vertex bags is cause of the buckle "quick release" on the straps. I've had them break on bags before... and once the break the bag is useless. its the weakest point of the bag. #1 reason myself and others stay away from them.
If that's the case then you should post a video of the bag and how / why it failed. Also, they have a good warranty, 2 years on bags and packs and a year on apparel.
i just don't see the whole point of "quick release", it weakens the bag straps having buckles and why should we have to go through the hassle of warranty/shipping a bag back instead of just making a strap without the quick release.@@TalonSei , love your videos, just not A fan of their straps. love their bag styles, hate the buckle straps.
I know you have the Scorpion S1 but in your opinion would the S2 Micro fit in the back area or would it be better off in the pouch where you have the plate? Considering ordering one of these bags.
