Its a powerful advanced smelling technique that perfumers have used for decades but we have never seen in literature. We've named it ITSOF - Inducing Temporary Selective Odour Fatigue. It uses the way that the nose fatigues of smells it is over-exposed to. It can be used for researching perfumes and identifying specific differences in 2 batches, a copy vs. the original, top-note vs. middle notes etc.
NOTE: YOU ACTUALLY HAVE TO TRY THIS TECHNIQUE TO GET ITS IMPORTANCE, READING OR JUST WATCHING HOW TO DO IT DOESN'T WORK!
Its from a collection of around 100 videos only available to our Workshop Graduates. Each video will have a new technique or method for perfume creation. If you want to see more videos in the series be sure to subscribe.
Excerpts from a session in The Art & Technology of Perfumery Workshop March 2012.
Lecturers: Stephen V. Dowthwaite and Ryan Chadwick, PerfumersWorld with participants.
PS. If you prefer to really be there in person or can't wait for the next video then join our next workshop. PerfumersWorld.com

Students need...a parfume work sheet! To truly understand Top,,,Middle,,,and Bottom notes....to (learn) how (essential oils) go into each section of the parfume... triangle! For example....sandlewood...would be a (bottom)...... note in the triangle. I believe (Ylang- Ylang) is a middle note....(citrus).... scents like (Orange) would be considered a top note. To balence ....scents out.
