I've called this laptop a "PC" multiple times in this video.
Since my first language is Japanese, in Japan, we call a laptop a "Note PC"; hence I called this laptop a "PC."

Hi Peace! Do you recommend this Macbook to graphic designers that does not so heavy/casual video editing?
My first time watching you and I enjoyed your review, however may I suggest losing the filter as it just makes it look ‘cloudy’ when there is no need for the video you are doing 👍🏻🙂 It’s good to see just a simple real world look at this MacBook with the base model and a proper days use. Seems like worth getting if you get the 16gb model as a new purchase but not so much if upgrading from an M1 air.
Love the video! I saw you that were video editing and was wondering what your experience doing creative work was like? Also, did you notice any significant temperature changes?

Great video. Cool to see a real life tests. The crazy tests of benchmark and ssd test don’t make any sense for normal users. In your opinion this base version is sufficient for student use (excel, word, same tabs in chrome etc)? I got one but I saw many videos and get worried if I made the correct decision. 8 gb of RAM is enough for this use?
I hear you. I ordered the base model today and will not be using it for video editing. I hoping it can handle basic tasks like word and browsing the internet. It my first time purchasing an apple laptop.
@@princehakeemali My niece in college has an M1. Performance is great and she loves the laptop for its great battery life. Honest reviews of the M2 have not seen any problems with most use cases. You might help others if you post a comment later, positive or negative, but I think you will be happy. Good luck.
@@brachiator1 you have the base m1 macbook air? I bought the base version mainly because the time for shipping was smaller. I am not from US than if I can’t wait for a base model with ram upgrade. But I expect it will be fine, as i don’t do any heavy task in my notebook.
Benchmarks etc push the device to its limits and aren't representative of "real world" usage by 99% of people who will buy it. Streaming videos, video calls, surfing the web and maybe a bit of photo editing is what these'll be used for by the VAST majority. Annoys me when a reviewer brings up cinebench like i'm ever going to use it lmao.
So am I better off keeping my MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports)

I push my current old laptop to 7GB while using it. Should I get 8GB or 16GB?
Are M1 Pro 14inch's battery very different from the M2 Air with this kind of light use? Anybody have light use battery data or personal experience of how long their own lasts? I have money to spend, and I do medium type work, but mostly web browsing. Battery is big for me too, and i like the 14" screen.

Hey bro, is the latest Lightroom classic update uses a lot of RAM more than what u actually have??? I have 8GB Mac mini and it uses almost 10GB!! Is it normal or a bug?
No Lr classic is definitely heavy on the ram usage
If you can, use Lr cc for light edits

This is my use case too and it’s working great with only a slightly warm bottom. Way cooler than my Thinkpad with a fan!
Coming from a slow and old ‘15 MacBook Air is going to be amazing, can’t wait for it to arrive.

Which of these two is better for a university use (take notes, watching videos, using excel and other stuff)?:
-MBA with 512 of SSD and 8gb of RAM
- MBA with 256 gb of SSD (with the storage issue) and 16 go of RAM
Considering that I would like to keep this MacBook for at least 5-6 years
Unless you’re running VM’s the resource management is supposed to be really capable with the M models.
So, I’d say fix the SSD issue, which will benefit you in transfer speeds, swap memory and just more storage.
Unless you really need more ram.

wow that apple product can give us peak performance while being efficient. I self own a MacBook Pro 14 with 10c and 16c and it draines around 10 to 15 percent if doing productivity work
if you had to choose from surface pro 8 (i7 32gb 1TB) or MacBook Air m2 (16gb , 512gb / 1TB) which system would you pick and why?

The base model M2 Air has been shown to not be the 'one to buy' due to being under clocked. And since most people can't really afford to increase the RAM and GPU, it really leaves us scratching our heads on what to buy... 🤔

This model is definitely not the “go to” model, especially with the base model
It's not underclocked. The SSD can be slower in some RAM swap use cases. If you can't afford to upgrade to 512GB then consider the M1. Even so, the SSD issue might not be a serious issue for most users. It is more a matter of principle that Apple should have kept the SSD the same as in the M1.
