So much to be explored when it comes to video on this camera. You’re one of the very very few channels that explores that aspect with this camera. Love it.
Thanks Bruce! I think you’ll enjoy the video I’m working on for this week! I’ve been forcing myself to use the sl2 for video over the sl2s recently and loving the results
Thanks for this review, Lukas. VERY helpful. Is there a reason you haven't explored the Leica 16-35? You mention that it was your favorite lens of your other system. Also, you can buy a Nisi filter system for this (and the Sigma) lens. I have no affiliation with Nisi (or anyone for that matter!).
Excelent video Lukas. Year ago I sold my Q and Nikon D800 with all the good ff lenses (14-24, 24-70, 50, 70-200) to get myself Sl2S with 24-70. Was it necessary, well, if there would be Z8 available that time I think I would stay with Nikon but my photos from Q and also some video convinced me, that Leica color is the key. Lately I am shooting a lot of inerior photography and went to Voighlander 15mm III which is great but just sub par for getting paid and not loose time postprocessing the heavy vignette and deformation. This week I am going to get 14-24 - did checked the Sigma as well but to my surprise the video part is very contrasty. So even more expansive, I think I’ll go with Leica. So silent, so smooth. Still on the edge about selling it and get theZ8 (resolution, AFC, 8K) but swicthing just too exapnsive, not to mention drastic low 2nd hand market prices of the Sl2S. Keep the Sl2 S vibe alive with your videos. Love them.
I appreciated your thorough appraisal. I think it would've been helpful if the title of your post mentioned the lens's use in video, since that evaluation took up a major portion of the presentation. Still, lots of good stuff to know and consider if you have seirious coin to plunk down on a huge chunk of glass (PS I thought Sigma had a 16-35/2.8 lens? Guess not)
❤thank you sigma. Now it is a beauty. The original is good, Leica make it nearly perfekt. I dont smoke, drink or by very expensiv clothes. So i spend money for a leica lens, which i can by 1/2 of price from sigma😂😢. Greets, Carsten Villa Petersberg

Thanks for the nice review. I have the Lumix 16-35 f4 and I really like it. It is light and I enjoy the range that goes to 35mm.
I’ll have to give it a shot! That may fit in the gap that I need! Glad you enjoyed the video
There is also a 16-35mm f4 Leica lens for the SL mount, not just Panasonic and Sigma versions.

I have the voigtlander 15mm iii as well and can confidently say that this 14-24 would fix all your issues! Thank you so much for the support!

Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for your note on the title!
I swear if I buy an SL2s I’m going to sue you - especially since now I want this damn lens.
We can be SL brothers 🤘
Would a step up ring solve this problem?
Nope! No spot to screw it on
Why? Why? I wanted this lens but the places I'd be using it are the last places I'd want to take the lens off the body!!!@@lukasvanderlende
Elmer. Its a hassle to fight. Can agree.
Oh damn, first! This is great man, thank you!
Thank you Alex! Glad you enjoyed!
I NEED this lens!!!
A super wide is always necessary!
You don't need it, you want it, huge difference between want and need
