Uni students struggle with cost of living

One in four universities in the UK are now running a food bank to help students struggling with the #costoflivingcrisis. We speak to students at Buckinghamshire New University about how they are making ends meet.

My husband went through years of study. He had to bòrrow money and work whenever he could though he had lectures the whole day and was studying long hours into the night to become a doctor. His parents could not afford to pay for his studies, but could help to pay for one or two of his text books. My children were firtunate to have a dad that paid theirs, but were heartbroken when students had to give up their studies because of the lack of funds. Some work for a few years, saving some money and study later. There are alternative wats to reach ones goal. As a student I did my own laundry by hand in the bath. I did not feel deprived.

The guy working all he can is my kind of guy. I did that coming to college and when I was done it was paid for. Didn’t beg to have it paid by the Gov.

With what equipment. What if your landlord won't replace it. Circuit laundry is so expensive. What happens if you don't have a car to take to a private laundrymat?
It's not as simple as you make it to be

Did you go to university? Because doing laundry costs money as most housing does not have free laundry services. So it's not that they want someone else to do their laundry, it's because they do not have the extra money after the other bills
