    I work full time I have a support dog for my anxiety but there are most days I go without food or very little food because I rather my dog not go hungry it’s been really hard I’m in tears most days when I find my bills or rent is going up im so exhausted and tired I wish this suffering would end 😢

      If England constantly changes their leader ? How much that cost ? Moving them in and out of Downing Street ,changing decor and furniture is defiantly not cheap . It may be a small cost but the burden is still put on the people.

    Food prices wont come down ever, the private companies are now charging more for goods that go to the wholesaler, that go to the private companies that go to the consumer, we have ruined our market in terms of that are GBP is officially worth less.

      What is the welfare state for if not to support families like this where one person cannot work for health reasons? What is the point of living in an advanced civilised society if we don’t allow people a basic standard of living regardless of their means? What’s it all for?

    They should turn the U.K into a giant food forest. They have a temperate climate and could grow food all year round. The Russians grow a huge percentage of their own food in a worse climate

      I live in The Netherlands and have visited UK twice. It was really strange to see so much grass and no agriculture.
      Besides that, in The Netherlands farmers have to leave because of the so called environmental/climate problems. In fact the plant are to make The Netherlands the capitol of Europe. Its insane.

    Same in Canada. My grocery habits changed DRAMATICALLY. She said it. I also cannot shop with enjoyment in mind. The price will guide what I am gonna eat during the week. 100% of the time I only buy meat, cheese when they're on sale. I frantically look all over the store for discounted/close to expire items to have access to items I could indulge before without spending simply TOO MUCH. I am an avid flyer reader now. Also, there was a DEEP, DEEP cut on amounts as well. Stocking food? Not possible anymore.

      i have budget $62 dollars in america for food a week i work 60 hours week the fed rised interest rate after low interest rates in 3 years i had sell my house 3 years to pay off i am 50 pretty much done after covid i have no will to work anymore

    Reducing or giving up Alcohol makes a huge difference to your finance.
    During lockdown, people realises this and saved massively as they couldnt visit pubs or bars

    All the supermarkets meet up with the department of food & fisheries. They price fix. The government are culpable and involved in this.

    I have always had to eat according to price not enjoyment. The only reason I’m such a good cook is because I’ve never been able to afford to go out to restaurants. Apparently tho it is only newsworthy now that it is impacting middle income people. We can ignore the poor and low income people tho for 14 years.

    People in the UK need to be more assertive when it comes to politics. Being passive and complaining won't change things. We are being walked all over by rich politicians who are out of touch with everyday struggles of the people. Things are and living is expensive. The cost of living crisis doesn't affect the politicians. It affects us the people. Wake up and act people.

    I have not changed my food habits as I don’t do anything else now apart from buy birthday presents. I am also prone to illness because I already grew up with food insecurity, so resorting to carbs and biscuits again will be the last step before homelessness.

      you'd need negative inflation for prices to come down, no one wants that, it won't happen. Inflation coming down just means prices aren't rising as fast as they were.

    I feel lucky that it relaxed a bit in Germany, I mean rent, heating and electricity went up, but not as bad as in England, and it has remained stable for a year now, electricity even went down a little. For comparison, we pay 120€/month for gas/heating and 55€/month for electricity in a 3 bedroom flat with 3 people. It used to be 85€ and 35€ so the change is there, but it's manageable. In the UK it's simply madness

      It’s not really about Brexit… inflation is happening everywhere and it is a lot worse in some EU countries.
      Covid government borrowing and the US printing trillions of dollars to pay for it really hasn’t helped the situation. When the de facto global reserve currency is essentially devalued everyone feels the pain.

    I only ate Wagyu because it tastes so good, but the price has gone up from 400g for £4.99 to 227g for £7! Now I have to eat other beef which taste very different.🤢

    What cost of living crisis? Just look at the ticket prices at Glastonbury and how many young people were there. Then the football , how can they afford air fares tickets, hotels, drink.

    They seem to be driving a nice new or nearly new car!!! Apple laptop on the fridge. She reads her bill on an expensive i-pad, they all go the football match and have their own football tops and they own a dog. Bagged soil in the garden for all the plants they buy. Then they say they are struggling to buy food. Give me a break.

    Food prices are coming down. Go into any store and compare your receipts to receipts from 6-9 months ago. I’ve noticed it now for 2 months in a row.

    I live in a 3rd world country and 1 hour of my work is equivalent to 4kgs of chicken. I can't believe I'll ever be in a position where I'll live a better life than many in the UK staying here.
