Supercell Thunderstorm Chicago suburbs 5/17/19

A supercell thunderstorm approached Chicagoland late at night, producing hail up to the size of tennis balls west of the Fox River. The storm remained severe as it approached the western suburbs. Here was my view in Elk Grove Village before it hit. You can easily distinguish the well developed shelf cloud as it approached. Luckily, the storm became outflow dominant as it approached the most populated areas, but large hail and tree/powerline damage were fairly widespread.
