Hi Tomi, Happy 40th Birthday beautiful! I am still plugging away on my Portage cardigan. Not much at the moment as I stole the needles out of it to make the Sophie shawl. I am 3/4' s of the way through it. I have just finished birthday socks for my sister and my mum in law. They loved them, thankfully. We just got back from a little break in Northumberland by Kielder lake. We are going to head back there next month as it's beautiful. I am back in work at our local Museum tomorrow which is fun. How are you liking, working at the yarn store? I would be constantly putting yarn away to buy, you probably have more self control than me though. Oh the other thing I have made is a couple of dish cloths. I haven't used them yet though. Sorry to hear about Squirrel passing, that must have been hard for you all.
I recently had to put down our last dog on May 31. She was about 12 years old and a rescue.😢 I understand pain and the feeling of her not being here is felt. Being petless is very, very weird. But I am happy you gave us a podcast. thank you very much

Thank you for letting your quirkiness and silliness shine in your videos. AND..... I also started playing a table top RPG game. It is D&D and I am running a campaign for my boys and a friend of theirs. I wish I had a group of adults to play with though.
So glad to see you back. I recently listened to a book called The Measure by Nikki Erlick. I loved it. I mentioned it to my daughter and she listened to it and loved it. We had some good conversations. A week ago I was on a girls retreat and we did a kind of book club regarding this book. Six ladies and one absolutely hated it, one didn’t finish the other four loved it and we had some great conversations.

Mieko Kawakami also has a novella called Ms Ice Sandwich which is also incredible. I'm so sorry to hear about beautiful Squirrel, you were so lucky to have found each other.

Seriously, my 40s were one of my best decades...so much settled in and also changed, but in a good way. I feel like I grew into who I was supposed to be in my 40s, if that makes sense. My 50s have been a pretty nice continuation of that. Love that you're working in a yarn shop! Does the shop carry your yarn too? And I had to laugh when you said about starting to buy dice. Me too. Do I play D&D? No. I'd like to learn though. But I really want to learn Magic the Gathering so I can play the new Lotd of the Rings version...I don't think Magic even involves dice though? I have no idea. Whatever. It's all good! 😂
Yes! They do carry my yarn - it's pretty cool. And I love that you love dice too! It's been so hard to not go crazy on Etsy. So far I've restricted myself to colorful 50cent loose dice from the game store... but not for long I'm sure. I tried Magic for a while when I was younger - I also LOVE cards. It didn't stick though, it's pretty complicated. LOL. What I like about RPG's is that there's a gamemaster who does all the hard work of the game and as a player, you're kind of just along for the ride. I highly recommend trying to find a group!!
