As an older player (62 yo), what is important to me is...Does it look good? Does it feel good? Do I like to log in? As someone who has been playing MMO's for 20+ years, I need my MMO to progress technologically, and offer certain features that enhance or improve on what I have already played. TnL really has a lot of things I like and want in an MMO. A good grind loop, visually appealing, sonically enjoyable, and worth my time to log in. Certain features even make it hard to go back to older games I have played in the past. This to me is what makes a fun MMO. If you focus on learning the game yourself (not following whatever guides are out there) you can level at your own pace, and still have a lot to do...and after 700+ hours, I am not bored yet.
Aye, I like the candid video dude. Does T&L have a similar volume of horizontal content as GW2? Guild Wars' expansions release years apart, but their episodic/seasonal content fills the gaps. I’m still new to T&L, but I’m worried about a lack of meaningful rewards for completionists and collectors after level 50
So to compare both (5000+ hr in GW2, 700 hrs in TnL). There is very little horizontal progress in TnL, the only thing that comes to mind is morphs(mounts) but not many and very similar models, amitois that give you tiny bonus for you Acc but you get some easy and the rest are jsut rng, guardians unlocked relatively easy and pages/books only take a few hours to complete them all, the skins are mostly for real money. So not many meaningful things for horizontal progress/collect. GW2 is only horizontal progression, so both games have a lot in common but also very far apart, as you will only grind a bit at first to gear up and later in GW2 all the content there is gives you only skins, but at some point for me, I was just not excited anymore in GW2, hance why they call it Fashion Wars.So if thats your thing I'd say go for GW2, but if you want to have some vertical progress at least, then go for TnL.
na you don't, but you need to have no life to do it any f2p that nolifed the same as ppl in those guilds do would be able to take part in endgame pvp, easily but pvping 3h a day 7days a week with maybe 1day off every 2weeks are absurd demands lol
honestly the new concepts like open world dungeons and guild raids are great. yet the end game feels repetitive and doing 5 dungeons a day seems too much. plus, the rewards for doing the end game content at times doesn't feel that rewarding. on top of this small and medium size guilds needs to be able to do pvp arch boss content as well. plus, the combat needs an overhaul. I keep hearing a lot of these issues would be fixed in a major update for the new dlc. yet if the end game still feels like a job more than having fun to me it isn't worth it.
I wish they copy some things related to WvW in GW2, so that anybody can participate in end game content. Like random matchmaking for alliances (form alliance of random guilds). Right now its the biggest bs, you go in there and you are alone vs all guilds at once :D, even if you got a guild, its just not enough where there are alliances,..
Its not the lack of content in TnL. Its that half the games content is time gated, leaving you playing the other half most of the time your on making it feel like a chore. Plus it doesn't help that this is a pvp Game that doesn't reward you for pvping compared to the rewards you get from pve. I want to spend my time pvping in thrones but I find myself doing pve mostly and at this point its just to help the guild stay up in score. Good on demand pvp is what is needed and most of the mmos that are referenced in this video all had on demand pvp more then just arena and those mmos had much better balanced arenas as well.
Absolutely yes. They claim its pvp game, but compare to other I played it has the least amount of pvp and the limitations are the worst. Playing pve 80% of the time to play pvp 20% of the time, at best...
I think it's a great game, but I like to take breaks overall from games. So the break they did was perfect, I'll be back for Talandre. And despite loving TnL I'll dip again after 1-2months, but I do this with all mmo's/games I play. Getting into the ratrace by now in ANY game you automatically have to compete with ppl who play 14h a day every day 7days a week. So I just try to eat my ego and stay away from that
3 years is kind of a long time to be waiting for content ngl. Game studios will build entire new games from the ground up in that same time frame. I’m not big into mmos, but it’s extremely reasonable for people to not want to play the game if there hasn’t been an update for years. Ofc this is a new game so only time will tell but if after a year and nothing has really changed, i’d probably hop off too. Smaller scale updates with shorter wait periods is by far a better way to go for keeping audience retention.
Well, MMOs take between 5-7 years, sometimes up to 10 for development, and for example Bllizard managed to drop a new expansion every 2 years, and they are massive in terms of resource, so MMOs take a bit more effort compare to other genres, but I totally get the frustration of some people. I think the devs can add certain features that add mroe freedom so people can make their own content while waiting, things like custom tournaments and also make the events more dynamic. Right now we got the most static events ever and it gets old very quickly, I can't get any excited for the next field boss at all and I'm not even doing the so called "dynamic" events anymore...
playing with couple friends and have fun on discord,in game i hate morphs, idk i love more mounts and wings that this sistem,i would love see housing. Also more improve as crafting or some other job, gather craft sell, sell gathering things etc
I like the game itself but stopped playing it after 200 hours. The p2w aspect is killing it for me. This game is too much PvP focused just to ignore it. If they'd only have skins to buy in IS or would be p2p I'd stay for much longer with the game. I'm not complaining because I had good 200 hours and met some nice people. After all It was worth it and all of it was for free.
The only content in the game is whales and zergs killing eachother. Pve content is a filler tool to make you want to p2w. The Pve is awful and nobody would choose to do it in isolation, it’s a chore. T2 and beyond are just a way of getting all the p2w players to p2w again to get their next gear set. It’s a new carrot on a stick. All the new content is the exact same thing re-skinned. These games are specifically designed to addict you. But it’s important to remember, addiction and fun can be separated. What is addicting might not actually be fun.
Yes, very true, reused content dungeons, they didn't even bother to make usnique areas, but mosty used the open world maps with extra barriers. Sadly it seems that way, I think T2 will either keep a certain dedicated player count or so after the game will completely collapse.

Definitely need to be in a guild and swipe to enjoy end game pvp

@Bankai90 yeah I was in top guild in my server from start and it started getting ridiculous.

I guess the flow of content in this game does work sometimes, it's not as grindy as other games.

I feel that they will add housing one day, but who knows...
Eso?
Never tried it, is it any good?
I do
You in ember duka?

I mainly just dont like the mobile style gameplay they have where they limit the amount of runs you can do per day. Big turn off for me.
Yes, this is the worst, If I quit TnL, this is gonna be the last thing I miss from it, it's bs.
The pvp is so bad! Not sure why they didnt cioy some of the stuff on gw2
Yes I'm been saying it quite often, they jsut need to copy some features from GW2, they are just on point.
