I never had an interest in planning a trip outside my country...but now I have to save up for a visit to Hamburg or Rotterdam, just to see this beauty (and some others) come and go 😍
It's not pulling it. It's just giving it some tension for steering purposes. That tug boat cannot pull that ship with that cable at that angle. Impossible. The ship is powering itself. The tug is just making sure all is good.
The bridge looks kinda werid. In all the other mega container ships I've seen, they're like flat wall all the way up. But this one the bridge is like a narrow pillar in the middle.
Its a tugboat you can see one on the rear too. They make sure the ship stays straight and doesn't hit anything. The big ship probably has props on low power to move itself forward.
It’s an Evergreen ship, yes. Just to clarify, the ship that got stuck in the Suez Canal was not named Evergreen, that is the shipping company. The name of the vessel is Ever Given.
Well, technically, what holds the ship is the chain through friction caused by its weight over all its extent sitting on the seafloor. The function of the anchor is to hold the chain in position. Obviously it is important that the anchor has a decent size depending on the ship. But mostly, it is the chain that needs to be the right measurements for it. That will make the most difference. Then they just need an anchor big and heavy enough to hold the chain in the right position.
What's crazy is no matter how big the ships get, they will be just specs in the vast Oceans.
The tugboat getting dragged at the end is cute
This is the indirect method of towing. Tug uses hydrodynamic force in the hull to generate force in the tow rope. Looks weird but works well.
When I lived in Vancouver it was always fascinating watching the different ships.
@Hokusai Noir Yes. That is a nice travel.
I don't think that even Vancouver handles ships this big
It sure is needsbeer.
Oh how I miss home!
0.20 is that evergreen in the back xD?
Looks like an Evergreen vessel, yeah.
It is a vessel from Evergreen, but probably not the ship you might be thinking (Ever Given).
I guess this horn must be blasting you away while you're near this ship
it's saying i'm big, moving, and have no brakes, you'd be well advised to get out of my way.
Impressive Ship and the Tug's too Thanks for another exceptional video
I totally agree.
Thanks!

Let's get this one stuck next
LMAO
Dam great video here HD1080ide deserves channel subscribe...
Great moment in shipping
Couldn't agree more. Looking forward to the next great engineering feat in the world of shipping.

Vielen Dank!
The amount of ears ripped has gone throw the roof since this ship came out
Id like to track my iphone case, iphone charger and iphone battery
HMM : they are on containers 24, 2449, and 24490
Me: OK Good
Huge ship,What is a great works by human hands.
Hi. From to vietnamese
Hello from California.
Ok. Friends

That tiny cable pulling that huge ship. Crazy.
It's not pulling it. It's just giving it some tension for steering purposes.
That tug boat cannot pull that ship with that cable at that angle. Impossible.
The ship is powering itself.
The tug is just making sure all is good.
Tugs just push and pull ships into position at ports. The ship is clearly powering itself
Such a beauty
The bridge looks kinda werid. In all the other mega container ships I've seen, they're like flat wall all the way up. But this one the bridge is like a narrow pillar in the middle.
Cost saving 🙃
🎉🎉
Hope you're not confusing the bridge with the funnel.
Daumen hoch! Gruss inselvideo!
VERY GOOD
Can someone explain how that little ship is moving the hmm?
Its a tugboat you can see one on the rear too. They make sure the ship stays straight and doesn't hit anything. The big ship probably has props on low power to move itself forward.
Bugsier is so small how can it trail such a huge vessel
Tugs have engines producing around 12000hp and insane amounts of pulling force/ torque. Also buoyancy of the big ship helps
Wow!
Definately.
Is that the ever green behind it? lol
It’s an Evergreen ship, yes. Just to clarify, the ship that got stuck in the Suez Canal was not named Evergreen, that is the shipping company. The name of the vessel is Ever Given.
My TEMU shoes are in there!
Imagine that getting stuck at suez canal
ironic to see a paddle wheel near the most modern ships!!!
Who is here after Suez canal incident?
I really thought the Maersk is the biggest..
I guess the ship is from South Korea
It is
Daewoo made ship

Wahnsinn.
such a big ship being draged by small steamer wow
Love ♥️♥️♥️♥️
largest yet it fit on my phone screen
Ok.✌✌
Ship brand name: hmmmmm
Omg this ship is going so slow
Hmm anchors don't look proportional to the ship size. With such a large surface hopefully they hold in strong winds otherwise we get a new hmm Island.
