Stu’s workshops playfully encourage students to deepen the mind-body-spirit-instrument connection which allows for enhanced listening, increased creativity and greater ease in music making.
Over a 25 year career, Stu has performed gypsy jazz guitar with symphony orchestras, presented ukulele workshops at festivals worldwide, toured internationally and recorded with renowned sacred chant artist Snatam Kaur on her 2018 Grammy-nominated album “Beloved”. In 2014 he was awarded a prestigious grant from the National Endowment of the Arts for his work offering healing music at cancer hospitals for patients and their families.

Thanks for the morning lesson. I don't drink coffee ☕🤣. I'm surprised I didn't discover this sooner. But, timing is Everything!!! I'm just getting cozy with the 5 shapes of the A minor pentatonic scale and really learning my fret board. Just bring me home to the root! For me it's now a matter of brain connectivity. The mind and soul gets it. The hand needs to catch up. I look at my progress. A year ago, I wasn't HERE! 😎✌️
I just played a solo!! That's so simple! I always just play chords at this point....I did struggle a bit with the chart of the notes that you put up so I watched it over and over and drew it in tab (which I also never read) and now I've got it...thanks Stu!

Really enjoyed this one and want to come back to it in depth in the near future. What I love about 12-bar blues is that it isn't at all as restrictive as it seems; like haiku, the boundaries of the form leave a lot of room for creative improvisation and variety of expression.

Just bought an ukulele. Tenor ukulele. And i don't know what type of chords i should use. Iron strings or plastic strings?
There is no way that beginners can play that, after you playing like the pro you are, you have forgotten how hard it is to learn

Hello Stu, so I gather the BB King Box scale in A, is not the Blues Scale in A
Help, I'm confused! The 1 IV V chords make sense to me, but not the
single notes.
I'll explain more in the workshop - the "BB Box" is not a scale, but a hybrid of major. minor pentatonic...stay tuned for part 2 video 😉

Sometimes i laugh.
You can hit 3 notes and sound like BB King. I hit the same 3 notes and sound like a 3 year old pinging a rubber band.
Still... it can only get better, so I just keep practicing.
Thanks for the compliment...just keep on doing it & your tone will get there...remember: we hear the sounds on the inside first -- then the come alive on the outside :-)
