Sly Cooper is a kinetic and comedic heist film that tells the story of Sly Cooper, an orphaned raccoon thief, along with his childhood friends and partners in crime, Bentley Turtle and Murray Hippo. In the film, Sly learns of his birth family's secret legacy; that he comes from a long line of talented and international thieves. I remember seeing this trailer years ago and flippin my shit as a kid thinking one of the coolest Playstation 2 main characters might have their own movie within a year or two.

Yeah they really need to change the vision a bit, they totally skipped sly 1 all of these designs are from sly 2 and the events of that game directly follow the previous game, also they are framing him as super boastful and brazen, instead of sassy and witty. If they ever pick this up I hope to God the people who make it play the first game

it does for me too, but it is important to remember: the past is in the past. If we dwell on the past we'll never be able to get anywhere in life. Im not saying that you should forget or hide from the nostalgia, Im just saying that you shouldn't let it get you down. Remember this game, remember the amazing times you had playing it, feel then nostalgia. But dont waste time wishing things were different. Accept that it was one of the best times of your life, and let it remain a memory and not a reason for distress. For all we know the movie, had it been released, could have been horrible, so why taint that great memories we have. Those great times have come and gone, and you will always remember them. So make the best of this situation and see it as an opportunity to grow as a person.

I like the characterization. I can't help but want a Sonic-like touch-up. Make them look a little less like actual animals and more like their in-game counterparts. Sonic did a pretty good job.
I feel like Murray needs to look more like his in game character.

Yeah. The best visual hallmark of Sly was that it was made to look like a graphic novel. This strict adherence to ugly, realistic, furry character models with generic pixar faces is not only uncreative but hard on the eyes. Seriously, Bentley looks disgusting.

The movie was cancelled because the Ratchet & Clank movie got more attention than the Sly Cooper movie so the makers of the sly cooper movie stopped working on the movie and worked on the Ratchet & Clank movie instead

Sometimes good production don't get thier justice im a big fan of max payne despite the qualty of gameplay and all the other aspect it got discontinued due to poor numbers in sales and difficultes in production i'd say sly cooper suffered the same fate

Benjamin568 Look on his Twitter to find a post about him not working on it for quite some time then watch the IGN interview with him where he states it won't be coming out this year, and is doubtful if it ever will. Now ask yourself this...do you REALLY,and i mean *REALLY* want a movie based on this from the same studio that fucked up Ratchet and Clank so poorly as well as a movie based on a video game, something of which has NEVER worked before? Honestly it's better that it's been cancelled, because it's better for this franchise to be spared the same fate as other video games that went on the big screen.

One big factor to the Ratchet and Clank movie failure was that the didn’t even promote it at all, all we got was a date, that’s all, I saw no promotions at all for it and so it failed because no one knew of its existence except fans

A Sly Cooper movie done in the Spider-Verse/PiB/The Bad Guys art style would feed families
Sly Cooper is honestly one of my favorite PlayStation characters of all time, right alongside Ratchet and Clank, Nathan Drake, etc. The only difference is compared to those characters I think he’s WAY underrated and less recognized than the others, at the same time that almost fits because he’s a thief who avoids the spotlight lol.
It is such a shame this movie never came out (or at least hasn’t come out yet) it seemed like it was going to be so promising.
Hopefully it gets rolling again.

I just love how Bentley and Murray have one title while Sly has Many, really shows his ego. I'll admit "The Sly Goodbye, the Money, The Heartrobber, the looks, the Romeo, the Ladies 'man', the Tail, and the Dapper Bandit" really made me chuckle a lot. And how they still showed Sly is still a good friend that he stole the cop's doughnuts just to help his big friend The Murray with his hunger. It's a shame this movie never made it past the trailer. Really good potential gone to waste because of Ratchet and Clank's box office bomb.
Apparently the movie was going to have the characters struggling to work with one another due to their difference and Clockwerk taking advantage of that

No challenge, and he considers it to be a jerk move. i like that he passed up stealing from the possibly hard up doughnut shop (We don't know, they could have been a mom and pop bakery) in favor of hitting up his favorite target. It shows the writers know something about Sly's morals.

The fact that Murray looks completely different and the changed voice acting really disappoint me. But other than that, I'm eager for this. I've been a fan of sly cooper since the first one on my ps2.
They changed Murray's voice in every game so I expected a different voice for the movie, and I also expect a different voice for Carmelita too.

That's why I use renderfarms instead of render animations with my own computer.
My childhood is almost entirely based on Sly Cooper, so they better not screw things up. I can overlook the fact that Murray looks... like he does now, and that Bentley is not wearing glasses. So I hope this will be good. And that Clockwerk makes some sort of appearance. He was awesome.
But Bentley IS wearing glasses! I just wonder how he can drive the van when he's supposedly in a wheelchair!

I actually just spoke with the director of this movie on instagram and he said Sony just decided to cancel the movie and didn’t give a reason to him. He said he “I haven’t touched the movie since 2015 or so”

Sly Cooper was a HUGE part of my childhood. He started out as my favorite video game character and later on in more ways than one, he was like a part of the family. I really hope they make this movie. I also hope they make Sly 5 because i nearly cried at the end of Sly 4! I hope Sly's alright!

I really like that they've kept the same voice actors. Usually video game movies go down the pan because the actors they put in to play them don't give off the same feel as the originals, and with it being animated they can get away with keeping the same voice actors, because it's the same sort of work they'd be doing as if it were a game. I have high hopes for this!
Its not Sly's original voice actor sadly. But he is doing a good job.

Yeah, you're right, it does sound like him at least but why not just get the original instead of another actor to pretty much imitate the original's voice. At least that's how I see it anyway. Obviously Ian is trying to sound like Kevin's interpretation of Sly since a lot of people actually mistook him for Kevin. But what I don't like is that they didn't even ask Kevin to come back even though he wants to. They get Bently's and Murray's VA's to come back but not Sly's? Pretty stupid to me.
