Caveman Death Metal on Thanksgiving and a breakdown to go with it. We couldn't possibly ask for anything better than this! The fountain of creativity spills over once again with sheer ear-splitting technical wizardry, and I'm here for it. Xtressor NUKE is definitely doing its job and adding even more edge. The entire mix is just punchy as hell with comfortably slammed levels, it sails past major label quality to my ears. Thanks for the rundown of the mix, it's just amazing what you come up with every time. 👑🎸🔥
Fully agree on the sound of drums. All the GGD samplers sound the same to me with an overcompressed, lifeless drum sound. I love the sound of UgriTone's Riot kit and one of the snares on Kvlt 2 is fantastic as well As far as bass, you can get a squier affinity PJ bass for
I'm so glad I got the Ugritone Farewell bundle. Such an underrated company. If you didn't already know, they did a recent update adding a third Ampenstein amp sim called Black Metallier and an additional drum library called Final Metal Drums.
F*ck yeah - I've been waiting for a video like this for a long time! 🤘I love seeing what people can do while "breaking the rules" and using budget options and stock plugins. Going to get myself one of those Marantz microphones for fun, I love these kind of cheap but quality mics, thanks for the tip! Also, I miss Mokafix - he put out some really great stuff in a very short amount of time back in 2009-2010, which was pretty groundbreaking at the time. Unfortunately he closed the company after getting snatched up by Native Instruments (where he's now head of UI design, apparently!)
Amazing mix man! Such brutal stuff! Thanks for always diving in-depth with these. This may be a fundamental question but does the compression on the drums help even out everything? Normally I’ll bring up the volume on the kick and the snare but that overpowers things like toms and cymbals.
@@CollapseWithin in most cases not really. Nothing that can't be sorted with small eq moves. There will be gain level differences for sure though. This EP for example has 3 very different guitars playing from track to track.
This has been bothering me forever , i usually multi track drums but noticed yours are just stereo , how do i setup a stereo drum track for midi drums in reaper?
@@resington really appreciate the help and reply but he shows how to route the drums to separate tracks , that's how I've always do it , but I just want to put them on 1 stereo track like you do for simplicity.
As someone who struggles to get a good ampsim sound, I REALLY appreciate you showing your chain for guitars.
Oh my God, man I had to take some screenshots of some of your VST settings because this is awesome! Love it!
Cheers!

You make some killer stuff yourself! I use your free IR pack on A LOT of my stuff, some even make it to final mixes.
sounds really good dude!!!!
Death Spiral is my favorite, techical riff, "slayer/Cannibal guitar solo style and a crazy final reverb
@@SantaMusicProduction37 cheers man! It's probably the easiest song to play. The solo is a bit mad tho yeah.
Nice!!! Will definitely check the album out as soon as possible!
I like that "Stressor" plug=in you are using. I use Tukan's Dis-Treasure. Awesome song and mix. I enjoyed the video.
I use the Drums Against Humanity (the Behemoth kit) from ugritone, sounds so sick
Thank You so much for sharing your knowledge....stay blessed man 💙
Your videos have helped me a lot man....
Damn son this is awesome

Awesome. I’ll give it a try. Thanks, Res!
Try the free Infected mushroom wider plugin. It's amazing on dual track guitars
Sound massive 🤘🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Wow!! Good job thanks
Superb as normal. Overall sound is huge. Hardly wana share that Reaper Template 😀
Cheers man I didn't make a template, if more people ask maybe :p
@resington Template please 😅
I'd be interested in the template too! 😀
Yea would love this Template!

Do you prefer nembrini delay over Sanford delay and over kts delay?
Hear me out, Hertz Drums 2 is on sale for 25 dollars and it has a sampler just like Perfect Drums
How does Hertz Drums 2 (without any packs) sound like? Like compared to the ML Sound Lab? Because I’m considering buying a drum vst
@kosmajahn2877 the cymbals are pretty decent, the shells sounds a bit meh but you still can use the sampler and putting shells samples
Killer track man who does the artwork on your album cover? Very old school
@@vincentemerald2574 Nomer61, he's on fiverr, does good stuff. Cheers!

Hi, lots of different youtube videos then trial and error. Thanks!
Does using different guitar or different pickups make a noticeable difference in the guitar tone?
