All the best for your Dad. I commented last week about owning a Nova. I also had Prostate Cancer. Caught it early, had surgery and all is well 8 years later. Wishing you well.
So very sorry to hear about your dad's illness. We will be praying. And yes, some hospitals do offer rv spaces for families of extended-stay/treatment patients, Google Hospitals with Hookups or ask your hospital about possibilities (if they don't know its something that would be appreciated, they'll never know to add it!). Other large hospitals may be able to suggest an rv park nearby with a shuttle service to and from the hospital.
I’m so sorry to hear about your dad. We used to live in Turlock & my youngest had to stay a week at Valley Children’s Hospital just down 41 from you. We stayed in my MIL’s motor home for the week at the hospital. It was so nice. It would have been very expensive stay or we would have had to drive 1 1/2hr one way. Praying for your family.
thoughts and prayers for your dad. U of M hospital in Ann Arbor has full camper hook ups across the street for patient families. So I wasn't surprised by that at. It does make it cost effective and easy. When Bob was hooking up the electric, it looked like he plugged into 30 Amp. Is 50 amp an option at all? 30 amp would not power our air conditions or the heat pump. Of course we are in a 5th wheel.
Sorry to hear about your dad Hillary, but be positive. My older brother is going through the same with his prostate and his treatments are going very well and his prognosis is very good,
Sorry you had to find out about RV spots at hospitals. I've never heard of sich a thing but can tell you the University of Utah doesn't have them. The University of TN doesn't either. But what a great idea!
Health tip. Parents teach their kids bad eating habits by sharing their plates. Kids must redefined their plate to eat different foods or the same results will occur. I know it sounds difficult, but it is a must!
Sorry to hear about your dad -- here's hoping for the best. The nearest large hospital to me has a large auxiliary parking lot that often has RVs parked there when I drive by, so I suspect they have a similar arrangement. I hope to never have to use it. Best wishes.
My hospital here in Portland not only has RV spots, it maintains hospitality rooms for those staying for longer periods. I am not sure what the charges are for these services. The RV parking is free, including water and electric.
Prayin' for you. Pretty sure my work/hospital does not offer RV hookups, but I do know that there are a couple travelers who say overnight in the parking lot when they work two shift in a row. But then again, we would rarely need AC or a life safety level of heater.
We did have to tell them who we were seeing but didn’t need to show any proof. Security drive around a lot so maybe they have something in place to know. But it was so cool you are right!
Oh my goodness! Sorry to hear about your Dad! I live in Clovis. Let me know if you need anything! ❤ P. S. if he’s at Clovis Community with Dr. Moffett…he’s in great hands!
My daughter and her husband 13 years ago had a son born 3 months early. My daughter spent the next 3 months in the hospital RV parking lot till he came home/
When it's very hot or very cold and you want to save about 2/3 rds of your warm or cold enter and exit the front doors. It's a real comfort saver. Best wishes to your dad, I had that cancer too.
Hope things are working well for your father. Since i have just found you guys, I need to go see if there has been updates. Being a nurse. I am always hopeful for people.
I worked at a Hosp for many yrs in Portland Oregon and we have several RV sites and some large vehicle spots. Good for those in need such as your situation and patient coming for treatment that may live a hour or more away such as on the Oregon coast and need a larger hospital for their medical care needs.
We went through prostate cancer last year. Very common. Totally curable when caught early. I suggest not running to the internet. Just talk to his doctor, who will be much more reassuring. Take care and try not to worry.
@@Vancaskeys I should add - and when not caught early, it’s completely treatable. I have a friend who had stage four colon cancer and now he’s cancer free. Medical advancements are incredible these days.
That is just awesome. I have always worked for smaller hospitals and didn't know this. I have thought about buying a van and doing travel nursing. Interesting
Sorry about your dad, thanks for sharing your journey....you are lucky to have A/C! I've been working as a travel nurse for many years. I did know they had RV spots but never used them before. Take care and glad you have your van at least to have comforts of being on the road. Looks like lego blocks for leveling, lol!
Spent 3 weeks in my rv with my dad in the hospital in Apache junction . He did pass I was glad I could be there.they had a spot in the parking lot for rvs. Pro tip: do your maintenance at home .
Praying, good, vibes or. happy juju, whatever you need coming at you for a good outcome for your dad. I know the struggle/happiness with the van. We have a Sequence 20k I have a drawer still sitting out with the drawer glide broken. I’m thinking maybe putting shelves in some of those spots with netting. It will give me more room for sure. Not sure yet. We switched out the piece of garbage they gave us as a TV. The cords are tucked up under the bottom of the cabinet, inside the side wall and then to the plugs located inside the cabinet. OOOPs we kind of tore the cabinet apart. Hopefully we can fix it. If not a screw and paint might be in the cards. 😂😂😂. Safe travels and hoping all comes out well. ☮️❤️
Ive never heard of any hospital having hook-ups ! Glad it worked out Sorry to hear about your dad . 🙏 Ps To be the most accurate. Always have the level standing on its own. Im a retired carpenter. 👍
Thinking of you and your whole family. Having a van is very useful. We used our van to transport my brother to his leukemia treatments about 2 hours away. It was very handy to have the van to hang out in while waiting for him. And we had anything available that he needed. I had heard that some hospitals have hook ups, I’m sure that’s very helpful in California!
Positive thoughts for all of you. My local hospital in Central WA has 5 RV hookups which are heavily used. Lg bus size rigs accommodated. During Covid used by medical travelers. Recently found and enjoying your channel.
Hi. I’m dealing with prostate cancer too so our hopes and prayers go out to you and your family. Aside note. When you put out your awning at the hospital I think I saw the same extra braces on your awning that helps a lot with wind that I have on my Jayco Swift. Love your channel and maybe we’ll meet boondocking sometime. Bless you and your family. Bob L.
What a blessing to have the van so close. Our prayers are with you and your family. Father God we ask for healing for Hillary’s father and comfort her and her family during this time. Amen
Praying for your Dad. Our hospital has 3 or 4 rv hookups. We NEVER leave our awning up (out) if we are not in camp. Too often people lose the awning due to unexpected wind coming up. 2 Friends of ours have lost theirs! Keep black outs to darken and get a curtain between the cab and living space. It will keep the living space so much cooler.
Yes engine on and awning will retract great safety
There are a few hospitals in Oklahoma City that have some RV hookups. Such a blessing for families.
Yes...such a blessing! ❤
Oh MY God........I live in Palm Springs! I wish good prayers for your Dad. The hook up for RV's at a hospital.....never hear of that! How cool!
Thank you Randy ❤️
Yes I've known about hospitals having rv parking for years , I parked in a San Diego hospital over 30 years ago
All the best for your Dad. I commented last week about owning a Nova. I also had Prostate Cancer. Caught it early, had surgery and all is well 8 years later. Wishing you well.
Thank you for sharing this!
Bob changing the filter was great. I learned something new. Thanks.
Glad to help!
Prayers for your dad. 🙏 Yeah, they have RV spots because a lot of traveling nurses are now living out of their vans these days.
❤❤❤
I did know about hospital hook ups for family members. Our Granny & Papa stayed in one when Uncle Carl was sick. Praying for your Dad
Thank you Yvette ❤❤❤
Yep, on my 2019 Travado the engine has to be off also... and good to know about the RV spots at a hospital I had not heard of that either
I wish the best for your dad. I lost my mom to colon cancer, too. Sorry to hear you are going through this.
❤
So very sorry to hear about your dad's illness. We will be praying.

Sometimes fairgrounds have hookups and RV campgrounds. A little less cost than a KOA. But glad there was hookups there.
Oh wow this is great to know. Thanks for sharing!
I’m so sorry to hear about your dad.

There are many traveling, nurse or medical technician uses rv and class b vans
Oh…that makes sense.
Praying for your father. I've parked my camper van many times at Stanford Hospital, but there are no hookups. It's $12/day.
Super Glue Gel will take care of the a/c cover in no time. 😁 Hoping the best for your dad .
Yes! Thank you!

Sorry you had to find out about RV spots at hospitals. I've never heard of sich a thing but can tell you the University of Utah doesn't have them. The University of TN doesn't either. But what a great idea!
I don't get alone with plastic either!
LOL!!!

I do hope the prognosis is better than your past family experience. Wishing you both the very best.

I have Rize 18 m. Yes engine must be off for awning use
That is cool. Never seen that in Canada. Did you need to show that you had someone in hospital? How do they stop everyone from parking there.
Thank you ❤ We really appreciate this!
If you are in the Salt Lake Valley, there is one hospital that has hookups
So you use a surge protector? I didn’t one added to the power pedestal. Highly recommend.
Not we didnt use one this time. We need to get a new one.
My daughter and her husband 13 years ago had a son born 3 months early. My daughter spent the next 3 months in the hospital RV parking lot till he came home/

On the Nova Coachman, the awning will not go out or come in with the engine on .
It makes sense 😀 but we had no idea when we first got it and thought something was wrong 😂

I have a yard in Clovis you can hook up at if you need
Oh wow. Thanks Joe. That is very kind of you ❤️
Do you use an external surge protector ? (I might have missed in earlier episodes). A necessity for sure.
And Love your videos

Thank you! 👏
I personally never worry about leveling my van. I have a 12v fridge not propane. As long as my head is higher than my feet I’m good while sleeping.
Prayers for your dad. In Jesus name. Amen
Thank you ❤
Not all hospitals have RV hookups.
That’s what we were wondering…
Yes. On the sequence we have to have engine off. Wishing all the best for your dad!
Thank you! ❤️
Never leave your awning out when you aren’t there. A wind gust will rip it right off. Not worth the risk. Prayers for your dad.
thank you!
Praying for your father. We’ve walked this road with 3 of 4 parents. Finding joy in the little things - like having your home on wheels.

Bob took that into account on our last trip after reading this comment! LOL! Thanks!
I did not know of rv hookups and I’ve worked in hospitals since 1977. Maybe things have changed or it’s just rural hospitals
Yes, many hospitals have rv hookups. Best of wishes for you all.

Yeah...we thought of that later lol
Get a little battery powered/rechargeable vacuum for the AC filters. They work great on our Fifth Wheel ACs.
So smart!
Prayers for your dad and you too❤.
