Thank you SO MUCH for posting a vlog at the Elvis Festival! I was supposed to go to this event but being a total klutz, sprained my ankle at the CHOC Walk in the Park in the morning so I couldn't attend. Virtually getting to be there thanks to you! And yes definitely get an Elvis costume for the homestead, perfect attire for editing videos in! lol
Elvis Presley was, or should I say is, the quintessential American icon. I always love watching his movies. His amazing voice could sing almost any musical genre-rock n' roll, country-western, gospel, which I especially love, along with all his Christmas songs! I remember when he died in August 1977-forty years ago- and what a shock it was to the entire world and so tragic, him being only 42 years old at the time. I like to think that Elvis is up in heaven helping to lead the choir, along with the recent addition of it's newest member, Glen Campbell.
PS: Adam since you bought the peanut butter and banana soap so you ought to try the edible version and make yourself a fried peanut butter and banana sandwich! They're fabulous! A good way to use up ripe bananas too!
I was never an Elvis fan until l watched the 68 comeback special. Then I saw that and l was like wow this guy can really sing!!! The song at the end is now one of my favorites. He definitely was a great performer.
Just the place you would find me at, looked like a fun day, those small festivals are so much fun. Oh my, all I can picture now is you dancing and singing in front of the mirror to Don't B Cruel or Hound Dog, LOL.
Forty years on and still Elvis's impact is felt...Adam, you should have bought that Elvis costume. With your personality, you would have been a natural.
great stuff Adam! one of my best friends is an Elvis tribute artist in Las Vegas for a long while now ( see my you tube videos for when we brought the show to Chicago) . thanks Adam for keeping the spirit of the king alive!
Thanks for this, Adam. BTW, visited Tupelo and Memphis during Elvis Week and this time I had additional places to look for thanks to you. In fact, I shared your Priceville cemetery video with folks on the property and at the museum. Thanks again. You are the man.
Saving this for dinner time, but wanted to get an early comment in - Thanks for all you do Adam. Been watching you for a long time and your videos are something I look forward to each day.
I was super bummed because I couldn't get off work yesterday to go to this. But I wake up and see that you did a vlog of it! Thanks for taking us there dude! I am so glad you got to enjoy it.
I been restoring a 1942 Willys WWII jeep and the project is almost complete. On and off its taken almost 8 years! I still have all of my Elvis records I bought as a kid and used to sing a bunch of his songs in a band not too long ago (I'm in 2 blues bands now...)
As a classic car owner I can tell you they are a labor of love to say the least lol. My parents & grandparents gave me my dream car a 65 Ford Mustang for my high school graduation. I have had her since the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit started & I have yet to attend the cruise!!! Every year something goes wrong with the car that she misses it. It has become a running joke that she is sitting in the driveway again this year like a girl stood up on prom night. I have taken apart the engine to get to the timing chain so many times that I think I could do it with my eyes closed now lol. But I have owned her for 22 years & I love her lol.
I really enjoyed your visit to the Elvis Festival. I am a big Elvis fan from when I was a teenager. Pigeon Forge TN has some really good Elvis tribute artists.
Ahhh, Garden Grove. Spent a bit of time there as a kid; my parents would take me there on picnics and to stand around bored while they went shopping. :-) Looks like you guys had fun!! See you tomorrow!
Elvis was so handsome and all his movies were so good and he acted so well and was totally gorgeous to look at - to watch. I loved the movies he was in. & his singing was so special. He was an Angel. He was the King. He deserves all the credit he gets which lasts forever.
Told you you should have come to Memphis a couple weeks ago - I have the Elvis picture in blue you liked in a framed puzzle I found at a yard sale once and I recently had a friend give me an old family black velvet like the one in blue jumpsuit on that table - after spending a hot August Week in a Tent with so many in Memphis - I just might recognize some of those Elvi you showed = I do actually know a very good Elvis Tribute Artist in Calif - and several thru out the country next time you go a traveling and an awesome near your folks that has added flamenco style background to the classic Elvis Music - next time you are down that way - lol - thanks I was starting to have some Elvis Week withdrawal
I found myself laughing alot in this one. Nutter Butter cookies and bananas are really good...that is my Elvis food item. That soap does seem wild though! Ha!
Good morning Adam, that was definitely a fun vlog covering Elvis. Been to Main St. in Garden Grove to see the classic cars a few times. If you were to seriously consider purchasing one of those classics you'd want one that was restored, in what is called 'frame off" meaning the vehicle has been completely torn down to it's nuts and bolts and rebuilt with up to date technology, like electronics, engine, transmission even disc brakes. A car like that would set you back $50,000 to $75,000 or more depending on what strikes your fancy. The Aztec Restaurant and Lounge with it's Elvis motif has great food, make sure to bring your appetite you're going to need it. Have a beautiful day wherever you go, see you tomorrow. "COMMENTS OVER"
Love your friends adventures of tintin shirt! Looks like a cool Elvis festival. Wish they had more stuff like that where I am. By the way, you should totally get the Elvis costume. Nothin weird about that!
Hello Adam yeah those events are great I was there last year and saw the cars and I went even to the t thrift shop there you get nice things in there so sad I that I missed this year😥
If let's say Elvis Presley was alive and he did came to that Festival about him, I don't think anybody who be able to recognize him today. For one reason he's in his 80s now and he wouldn't be looking the same when he was 42 years old. He would be dressed like today's clothes instead of the 70s. So if he did went to the Festival, no one would even know. But Elvis Presley does lives on, in our Hearts and in our Minds. As long there is an Elvis Presley fan, he will continue to live on even after the Generation of today is long gone.
Hey Adam!! I enjoyed this vlog. I am also an Elvis Presley fan. I think it was in 1977 when he past away but not 100% sure on that. I was like 2 when he past away. I love his songs. Thanks for giving us a tour of this event. Did you buy the Elvis outfit? Love you Adam!!
Morning Adam! Bluegrass Elvis? A first for me! Now I have the image of you dressed as Elvis , alone in your apartment, dancing in front of the mirror! Wiieerrdd!
Elvis was inspired by Dean Martin so much that his way of singing was inspired by him and when Elvis dated one of Dean's daughters he called Dean his nickname The King Of Cool.
Bill Monroe wrote Blue Moon of Kentucky" to be a slow song. Mr Monroe heard Elvis sing his song up-tempo'd and it is said that he approved! The band I was in started of the song with the fiddle slowly and then we stopped and I speeded up the tune on the banjo. Wonderful song!
Love 💘! Wow...that was surprising and so fun! Ha! I think Elvis would not be recognized... Evidently he went to an Elvis impersonating contest right in Memphis in the 70s and someone else won! He came home laughing...he thought it was hilarious! Love the old winged Cadillacs...cool cars...but would be an expensive hobby even if you could work on them yourself.
As a side note; Garden Grove is the best 'value' place to live in Orange County as it relates to real estate price and quality of living. It also neighbors Disneyland and is about 30 minutes drive to nice beaches. If anyone cares.

its nice to see young ones still enjoying things from the past.

Elvis is the king of music
I just always think of boats when I see those cars. Big as boats!
My dad refers to certain vintage cars, especially Buick and Lincolns, as "land yachts".
4:41 - Haha, Lil Elvis cracking me up!
Adventures by George Elfis?

Elvis was inspired by Dean Martin so much that his way of singing was inspired by him and when Elvis dated one of Dean's daughters he called Dean his nickname The King Of Cool.

I love Elvis...and then the Woo. Maybe in the opposite order. I don't know. But love...oh lots of love!
In the next 10 years the Elvis obsession will fade. At this point it’s just a money grab.
I would go broke if I would of be there, I saw many things I would love to own of Elvis....
