LOOK WHOOS BAAACK! Djoker has been on such a high level over 2023, a human let-down in AU-23 is very plausible. Let's see what Novak brings for the rest of 2024 before we start down the RIP-Djoker highway. Looking forward to seeing what Rafa can produce in 2024 as well! Let's see what the Amozonian Roger-meister will unveil in flowing Technicolor :). Great to CU 3 & looking forward to more episodes & more THREE-peats!!! Cheers, Milan
Loved that y’all talked about all 3 legends and I’m really excited for the Federer doc!! Also I agree with Joel that going out on your own terms is a myth 😊
This tennis show is slowly doomed. Nadal already 38 years of age, Djokovic soon will be 37 years old. Nobody ever outside of Ken Rosewall since 1972 ever managed to win a Grand Slam being older than 37+ years of age.
Here in Sweden we were informed how the great hockey player Peter Forsberg ended his carreer. He simply said he didn´t want to live with chronic pain. My feeling is that Nadal is facing the same predicament.
Amy Lundy, i like your view onto Tennis but it is beyond me how you can say that Djokovic did not have a bad tournament. I think he had a rather poor tournament for his standards and his match against Sinner was probably his worst perfomance ever.
At the outset, missed your post AO analysis-you folks are the best at that. Also, it’s great to see Ms. Lundy’s full name for a change lol. Although, having Mr. Drucker out of his usual position will take some getting used to.
I’d like to know what Amy was smoking during the AO. “He was having a great tournament “? Seriously? We all know you love Novak but damn, some honesty wouldn’t hurt. He played bad all tournament long, dropped sets to Prizmic who has done nothing since, Popyrin, and Fritz for the first time since 2021. Than he enjoyed easy draw in round 3 and worn out Manarino. He made it to the SF because he is great, and despite playing poorly
On the Roger documentary - Roger could literally film himself sitting in his den staring at a wall for 12 days and Fed fans will watch it. I know I will. It'll certainly be more interesting than men's tennis has been since he retired. Even Novak looks bored because he doesn't have his 2 biggest rivals to motivate him anymore. That AO SF against Sinner would have never happened if he knew Roger and Rafa were still in the draw and a potential finals opponent. Or Murray for that matter. They all know it's the end of the greatest era ever in men's tennis. If they each want to write their own ending then who are we to nitpick how they do it and the lack of objectivity or negativity they want in that ending?
I'm surprised how little has been said about Novak being quite sick during the Sinner match. He may not have won, but it was such a drop below even his 'average' level. Outside of some early clay court matches, or the injury period of 2016-2018, this was the worst I've seen him. He couldn't keep the ball on the court. It was not really that Sinner played that great. Look at the 3rd set.
Well got outplayed maybe maybe not, but 60+ UE is not nole at all let alone it's a semi final of gs where most of time increases his level of play like he usually does in letter stages so that is that.
Novak had a monster year in 2023, which is so unprecedented especially at his age. & being 1 point from CYGS pretty much, if not for wind he might've gotten Wimbledon too. & usually the next year is likely to be mediocre, especially for Novak. So I think he might just win 1 slam this year, and Olympics is going to complicate things more imo. I don't think he is winning the french this time, so it will be either USO or Wimbledon.
The Last Dance was a great documentary series because it offered a different side of Jordan, a nuanced often not flattering portrayal of the legend. And you got to see him through the eyes of his teammates. I’m not holding my breath for this Federer doc being anything but a mainstream massaged media story of the faultless Swiss gentleman who shed some tears at his farewell LaverCup. I appreciate Roger’s career and his often sublime tennis, but it’s tiresome watching the idol worship and the propaganda of the virtuous Roger Federer, without hearing any honest critique of the man. I actually remember listening to Roger being interviewed in this years Laver Cup in Vancouver with Jim Courier and he was charming talking about life after tennis, but it all felt very polished and his answers though humorous at times felt managed too. Sorry if this sounds blasphemous. Novak’s more my cup of tea.
100%. I would love to have Federer honestly address how he dealt with the fact that Nadal had his number for a long time. Similar with Djokovic, I would like an unfiltered response to losing some very big finals to Djokovic. His image is too refined. I love to see beyond that facade.
There is no surprise here. That is always how RF wants his fans to idolize him. ALL his talk is scripted by his PR team and NO ONE knows what he really thinks. Allowing the camera rolling in his house, in his hotel room? I'm sure he will behave the same as if the camera were not there (and also Amy mentioned post production editing) 🙄 And releasing the documentary around Wimbledon? Of course, being the attention seeker he is!
Novak after not allowed entry for 3 years finally playing sunshine doubles 💪👌 But i hope he doesnt tire himself for RG, WIMBY and OLYMPICS which are very very important at this stage of his age and career.
Hey guys always appreciate your takes. I gotta say my sense is Roger doesn’t like being out of the limelight. He knows he’s not the goat anymore. He’s not just being au natural with the cameras coming in. It’a performance. He’s backing his own documentary.- narcissistic. You can be sure he’s going to make himself look absolutely fantastic. And putting it out around Wimbledon- Roger wants to take the attention away from Novak.
Gill your point about Rafa not ever getting to a point where he will stop winning and it will either be him being injured or him playing and winning a lot. Well a large part of the reason for that is that he only allows himself to play when he thinks he has a chance to win. I suspect there are many times where he probably isn't "injured" to the same degree where he can't play, but he doesn't play because he knows there is no chance to win if he does. Whereas I think some of those other names you said will play matches regardless (Murray I think for example is at a stage now where I'm sure he has been continuing to play knowing he won't win but simply because he has such limited time left and wants to prioritise moments on court, win or lose).
It feels like Amy and Joel are naturally contrarians so even when Gill says something super obvious they get into a whole dynamic to contradict him and the conversation goes sideways. Like discussing whether a player would want to go out on their own terms is pretty obvious. You’ve gotta do mental gymnastics to play devil’s advocate to that point… which is what Joel and Amy did. Kinda bogged down the whole episode. This has happened with other episodes too like when Gill talked about importance of mentality and Joel and Amy said mental and physical are the same thing… it’s really bizarre to have to defend such obvious points against people who are just being contrarian.
Rafas confidence movement endurance will all return When he plays RG and olympics. Thats a magical experience i have had time and time again several times since 2014. 💁♂️😇
I beg to differ that Sinner outplayed Novak. The 1st 2 sets it was more of Novak playing extremely poor and uncharacteristic loss of form. Sinner did play well, but let's be honest that he didn't have to dig deep and wasn't pushed. If Novak was there even 70%, I am sure the results would've been different or at the least much closer.
Amy and Gill should be panic stations; Nole got beaten at his 2 sure slams by 2 very young rivals who will only get better. Joel doesn't mind this turn of events.
Djokovic is the Greatest of all time 24 40 410 no body in the history of tennis wins more than nole serbian peaplle are not for points or slams only for History Djokovic Jokic 😂😂😂have a Nice Day
My prediction: If he is feeling fit, Rafa will play Barcelona, Monte Carlo, Rome, Roland Garros, Wimbledon, Davis Cup, and retire at the Davis Cup, where there is not the same kind of questions from the Press, as it is an event for national teams.
@@jennes3200 Please, don't hurt my feelings. This is serious, you see. Innocent people are being slaughtered (you should know where), but this matter right here is way more urgent.

Don't answer it to us, answer to yourself first and make a joke out of yourself here.
I think it is a combination of Sinner on fire /in form (making his opponent not play great) and Novak not playing his best. Two matches at ATP finals, my take away is that Novak has to play almost his best to beat Sinner (who has improved so much). I am a die hard Novak fan and also like Sinner (my 2nd favorite).
