The Cologne Domino Team proudly presents its 6th event. After one year of planning and organization our team of 22 people worked on the project for 2 weeks before it all was toppled in one spectacular show on the 30th of August, 2013.
The event took place in Cologne, Germany in the sports hall of the Liebfrauenschule.

Right when I thought CDT couldn't get any better, it just got... A WHOLE LOT BETTER! Congratulations for not only beating your old record, but destroying it by over 100,000 dominoes! By far the best CDT to date!
That was nothing short of incredible. Best CDT yet.
You watch these videos and can't stop imagining the stuff around you made of dominoes. Amazing skills.
The whole project looks AMAZING!!! Very colourful, nice 3D structures and awesome field-designs. The end field was huge and the builders challenge succeeded :)

Once apon a time in the west - part of Germany. There was a story of 285.000 awesome little dominoes. They waited a whole year..... to avenge themselfs again!

Great job everyone! I think adding a few more lines and small to tiny projects to the event was a good decision; even though the topple was stretched quite a bit that way ;-)

This was awesome! The builders challenge worked and only 4000 dominoes did not topple. A great success!

Die 2 Wochen waren echt ne super Zeit. Freue mich jetzt schon auf das nächste Jahr, obwohl wir noch nicht einmal fertig aufgeräumt haben ;-)

Traurig was ich in den Kommentaren lesen muss... Ich fand das Event wirklich sehr klasse und habe mich auch sehr gefreut, dass ich mal in die Halle gucken durfte ;)
Freut mich auch, dass ihr so viele Steine mehr als geplant aufgestellt habt.
Wir haben unser Event auch größer ausfallen lassen, als geplant und es hat die Leute gefreut. Wahrscheinlich sind das alles Sinneranhänger die hier haten...
Ich fand es wirklich sehr sehr schön und freue mich mal selbst mitzumachen! :)

WOW I AM IN LOVE. this was your coolest and most successful project ever! drinking game domino builders challenge? genius. was it expensive to get all of the glass panels? what material did you use to make the custom domino stairs?

I liked the challenge! I would believe building a domino line with alcohol in your blood would be quite challenging!

really amazing :) I like the small details added in the projects. I needed to see it 2-3 times to recognise some projects of what they mean :) Some very inventive stuff!

Supercool! This was the best CDT I have seen! I particularly liked the Grand Canyon: very real! And congratulations to mastering the challenge this time! But really - the whole team deserves a heck of a lot of applause!

die projekte sind echt klasse und sehr kreativ. mir gefallen besonders der grand canyon und die geschwungenen felder wie zB das klavier.
mich würde mal interessieren, welche projekte ihr spontan gebaut habt und wie ihr da in der halle noch platz für gefunden habt. war die nicht schon mit 250k restlos ausgeplant??
und ich finde es schade, dass man mittlerweile doch irgendwie deutlich merkt, wie durch die extrem volle halle die kameraführung leidet...

I used to do domino toppling with my brother. At the time, my mother was a very heavy smoker and was spending a lot of money on her nicotine habit. My brother built a domino layout which squashed cigarettes.

haha yep; but our hands were so shaky during the BC, that it was pretty close... you can't really simulate that pressure during the falldown, so we trained with more glasses for the same time :) And it worked quite well...
