- The Dutch Domino Team presents you: World Domino Collective 2021
From this moment on, our events are called “WDC 2021” as we are growing in number of builders, especially those from abroad.
What was meant last year, is finally being shown to you now. Our theme is Fairy Tales, and we have chosen three tales to create this amazing domino spectacle of over 500.000 (half a million!) dominoes. The Tales are:
Peter Pan - 140.000 dominoes
The Emperor’s new clothes - 100.000 dominoes
Beauty and the Beast - 155.000 dominoes
Each tale will be explained during the falldown by none other than our own Thomas van Wely. Subtitles of the narrations are provided in: English, Dutch, German, French, and Spanish.
The project was built with a total of 18 builders, two full weeks (14 days) and made possible thanks to our sponsors:

Thank you for bringing us such a great event! Congrats to everyone involved, you can be really proud of yourselves. We're sure it takes a LOT of effort to make something like this happen, but you guys just did it! The storytelling through the dominoes is amazing, and the falldown went almost perfectly. Also, kudos to the people who did the filming and the editing of this video. Really a top performance from start to finish. We're very happy that we've been able to be part of this story.

très beau projet, j'ai beaucoup aimé les tours de vêtements dans l'armoire pour "les habits neufs de l'empereur", et j'ai adoré les pétales de la rose qui tombent au fur et à mesure, pour "la belle et la bête", ça m'a mis les frissons !

c'était super, bravo à toute l'équipe ! on a pu voir à la fin le décompte des dominos qui ne sont pas tombés, comme tu m'avais expliqué :) c'est une bonne idée d'avoir mis ces images :)
Truly an incredible masterpiece, the way of narration, the color combos, music, the editing and the flow of the video made the whole video super interesting! The Peter Pan part was really great, with some nice music syncs, and nice fields, super great, huge ship and walls, the second tale was pretty funny and the emotions of the people in the field looked realistic, the third tale was my most favourite, the way of representing each scene was awesome, the wolves, the sparks, the long wall at the ending, the art of the prince and the princess were all superb!! The thing I loved the most was how the dominoes turned the page of the book and took off each petal by petal in the rose, it was absolutely mesmerising! A beautiful piece of art and truly the best domino setup in the history of dominoes, awesome job guys, really excited to see what y'all are going to come up with in the future!!
Truly a masterpiece to watch! It still amazes me how I get used to see the designs when they are made months or a year before, yet you get blown away again when it is fully standing and toppling in exactly the way you meant. Absolutly loved building these (and edit this looong video), another 2 awesome weeks of the year. Over half a million dominoes is just insane and every year we surprise ourselfes with getting better on every detail 😁

Really nice field design/patterns with the shadings. I Really liked how the sails looked falling with an uneven wave across and the reflections on the dominoes falling.

Please🙏 Can someone explain to me about the " mess ups?" What if someone makes the wrong move while assembling the dominoes or a breeze blowing by , certainly that must have happened, I can't fathom the fact that all these can be lined up perfectly without at least one exterior element that is not/ or may be in their control .to mess it all up before the showtime.
The amount of time it requires to put all these dominoes intricately. it's mind boggling. I can't even imagine the pressure they must endure.

I’m gonna be biased because Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie of all time. I loved the Beauty and the Beast portion because I love that movie. But one thing that rubbed me wrong was that you changed the color of her outfit it should have been blue not orange from her everyday wear.
Who sorts them all and puts them back in their boxes? Or do they?
In two days everything has been sorted.
