That is really cool. Just put a nice motor in there and give it some paint and it will be really cool. A beat and Bondo clean up at least. just make the panels that are bad and patch it up and paint it.
Welcome to Ghia world! Remember everything is 2x the price of Beetle prices! 🤘. Get some Koni adjustable reds on it as they are heavier and need the stiffer shocks
I'm seeing Briggs & Stratton red nothing but Era correct speed performance parts, for the engine a one off modern SPG style roller crank have someone make up a set of fumio fukaya style angle Port heads , full roller rockers and Geneberg traction bar, Racestrim valve covers and oil sump, Joe hunt magneto ohh wee all the old school tricks to the new aluminum block and some CB heads😳😂✌️
No roller cranks but definitely a touch of old school performance I’m a fan of the oldskool but also know better about the modern performance advantages of today’s innovations. But for the old school guys I have an engine for a empi gtv car coming soon that will mess with everyone’s heads it’s got rare everything on P11s and truehalf accessories too to bottom! Oh and also a dds parts berg and you will smile for sure

SGV kids didn’t have as much disposable income as Orange County kids so the Cal Look treatments fell short of the mark. Thats also why the L.A. kids that had even less money would just slam their stockers on Alloys and call it a day.
@@volkstroke SGV Vdubbers with the decent feria they had put together some nice cars. I wouldn’t doubt they would have put together even nicer cars had they been Transas and Rateros like a lot of L.A. Vdubbers. LOL
Lol your body guy is stuck in 1960. You can use chemical stripper. You just have to know how to work with it. The one thing you don’t wanna do is sandblast it no matter what anyone says, blasting is stretching the metal and that ain’t good. By the way, that shitty looking formula France steering wheel is actually worth money. Lol I have no idea why but people want them now.
@@volkstroke Here is a great explination of why you should not blast large body panels. ua-cam.com/video/uLJvlQ8t-RU/v-deo.html Sylvester Customs is out of Temecula.
Damn, I missed this video. I can't believe it. Your 1641 dyno vid brought me here. Nice score.
I'm excited for future episodes on this!
Yes sir we on it
Already working on the update
A low budget low light, awesome 💪🤜👏👏👏👏
Yes indeed!
We will try
As long as the front end is in good shape... it's a bonus! BTW the OG color with a black roof will look sick!
Ghias suffer from frequent nose damage as compared to all other cars; not sure why.
Wow. I'm anxious to see how much bondo you find. A lowlight just hanging around like that. Crazy!
What a killer find man , I’m already in love with it ! Beautiful car ! I’m jealn now dude , nice 👍
Good score buddy!! Nice!!!
Can't wait to see what you do with this - I'm sure it will be awesome!
You rolled me on that comment "we're not math surgeons", classic! Keep it up bro, you're the best out there.
Bug pack shifter my brother !
Ohhhhh nice
@@volkstroke can’t wait to see this old car come back alive !!! Beautiful old car man , don’t get to see these low light cars much here
Nice project looks like fun
Very!
Beautiful. Car.
Great find David! 🎉
Man l have a bug but ghias are my favorite, looking forward to your magic
Definitely fell into the right hands
We will try to make it cool
That thing is sweet David. Would love a clean Ghia like that one. Gonna be sick once the Volkstroke gang builds it
🔥😎🔥
We will do a special form of oldscool performance

I already got a stack for it and it’s going to be fun oh and shocks I got some gas adjust
Nice , looks like fun 👍🏻
Hot tip removing spiderwebs with a propane torch. It just vaporizes them.
I love my 67, but would trade it for a low-light like that easily!!! 😅
Lowlight 🥰 A shame they eliminated the lower moldings and the window weatherstrip trim. The cars look so finished with those.
That was the 80’s , dechrome or blackout the ese chrome.
its got a full case tranny in there. so maybe they updated the gears at least to 412.
Lots of room for a turbo! Hopefully you can keep the Sunshine state license plates registered to the car.
That's the plan!
Minus the turbo 😆
@@volkstroke Where's the fun in that? lol
@@witcher71 I don’t like turbo motors it’s not my thing I like aspirated carburetor motors lol 😆 slow but snappy
@@volkstroke I can dig it. I like turbo because it makes a small engine think it's big and a big engine even bigger.
Daaaaaannng! Low some low-lights.
Damn a 59!!
Yes sir
This the one I wanted

I could be dead wrong but the shifter looks like a DDS (Deano Dynosaur) or bugpack
Thanks I’ll try to get it restored I know the right guy
Hell ya cant wait
Use plastic bumper repair epoxy on your steering wheel. I restored my badly cracked wheel in my 56 oval with it. It fills and sands easily.
Thanks for the tip! I will
I dig your videos man. Are you going to replace that whole back rear left panel?
Most likely
What we all want to know is purchase price? ;-)

Hmmm maybe we go more older in the oldskool

Heck of a score isn't that a hurst shifter I watch all your videos

Yup thats a dechromed Cal Look. That color was called “Magenta” in the 1980s.
Yeah has some distinctive cal look attributes except for the motor
SGV kids didn’t have as much disposable income as Orange County kids so the Cal Look treatments fell short of the mark. Thats also why the L.A. kids that had even less money would just slam their stockers on Alloys and call it a day.

Maybe a new real street category, stock stroke real street 💪
Like 4” bore on 69 cranks ?
@@volkstroke hell yeah! and to really keep the class in the cheep zone, stock head only - 35x32 🤔 kinda like a class 11 for the 1/8 mile.
4” bores are not cheap you must want 94 mm like 1914 only
Yeah but iv done that years ago made good hp on 1914 still on 40x355 but car was running 8.20 s
That's a really car is that original paint
Doesn’t look like it; he says original is like a copper color.
It looks like 80s era “Magenta”. A very popular color back then. Or maybe just a red that faded.
