Nikon, you guys did SO MANY THINGS RIGHT with this camera!!! I’m in a different system and the Zf might make me switch to Nikon. Well done, guys. Well done. I can’t wait to check out the Zf in person.
Sorry everyone, but if the Z8 is the professional line killer, this Zf is going to kill any Fuji and Canon on this range. It is just tooooooo good. Nikon is reclaiming its supremacy by listening to customers.
Z8 chip, 24 mp, full frame, 30 fps jpeg, 4k 30 oversampled 6k, comes in multiple colours, flippy screen, pixel shift, old scroll retro look.. they absolutely nailed this one.. and gives us an idea what to expect from the Z6iii.
I own this camera and it's wonderful. Nikon, add the ability to record 6K 25/30p video to the new firmware, once you have added a recording to N-log. Let connoisseurs of classic ergonomics unlock the potential of the camera to the fullest!
Thank you so much NIKON. I’ve been waiting for this for a very long time. Can’t wait to get my hands on this beauty. Now, come on, and ship it already. And I promise, it’s not far long for NIKON to be top of the line again. Thank you so much. May God bless you
You guys are smashing it with this one. Just preordered. A bit concerned seeing all the overheating warnings from all the recent test videos, even when the Zf camera wasn't being worked too hard. Hope that ends up being an issue soley for the preproduction models.
Honestly, all of this is great. Focus-oriented and otherwise improved IBIS, Expeed 7 + almost Z8-level AF, more MF guidance, AF down to -10EV, true touch AF point selection, pre-release capture ... unbelievable. But two things really get me excited here: 1/250 s flash sync and a threaded shutter release! I hope there's a kit with the FTZ coming. Great video!
So what does this statement in the specifications exactly mean: "Up to: X=1/200 sec. to 1/250 sec.; synchronizes with shutter at 1/200 sec. or slower; Auto FP High-Speed sync supported" It's as if Nikon says, 1/250 still works but we precisely sync up to 1/200
Hi. Does “Flexible Color” picture control work on the Nikon Zf or only in the Nikon Z6III? If I save a recipe including “Flexible Color” adjustments to a NP3 file will it work on the Nikon Zf?
Nikon need to start putting the same autofocus modes they have in the Z8, and now the Zf, into the Z9? Why there is no ‘aircraft’ mode in the Z9 puzzles me!
Hope it can do trap focus for older AFD lenses / Zeiss zf.2 lenses. This means the shutter releases only when the shot is in focus. ( even with a manual lens )
What I don't understand is why the design of the F3 has not been chosen for this Zf. If the Zfc was already like the FM2, I think this full frame should have been like the F3 professional. Maybe it's because the design of the F3 is owned by Giorgetto Giugiaro?
Hi there. The front and top of the Z f camera body are forged from super-light, super-strong magnesium alloy. As mentioned on the product page, "knocks and bumps from daily use are no problem." - www.nikon.co.uk/en_GB/product/cameras/z-f
The price is too high here (Norway) - about 1.6x that of US price. I'll stick with my old bodies. (D610, D3, D200, D70) I don't do video much, but I frequently stitch my images in post.
Some guys review that ZF have 4k 60 fps un crop .. this is right news ? Pls update me If 4k 60 fps crop than what’s the change ? 10 bit internal for video ? We need 4k 60 fps uncrop ..
Hi Rafiq, the Z f can record 4K60fps but only with the DX format (cropped). With FX (full frame) you can film 4K UHD/30p, 25p, 24p. For more information on this, feel free to check out the Z f product page - imaging.nikon.com/imaging/lineup/mirrorless/z_f/
A new toy? 1. Nikon ZF has no handgrip, which is terrible for big lenses and good for shaking... But it looks so cool... Have you tried to change the memory card when the camera is on a tripod? Have you ever wondered why the small memory card is so unreliable? But it is so cool? When you want to change from Photo to video you have to change also the Video setting. For every Hybrid shooter a nightmare! But it is so cool! No user settings and no different settings for the video! Have you ever wanted to change the User setting quickly because you want to change to slow motion or to shoot a bird? But is so cool! Recording of videos on only one memory card like all the other Nikon cameras? But it is so cool! The Sony has 33 Megapixels.... But it is so cool! I would never buy any Full-frame Nikon because you are obligated to pay at least for 2 flashcards $600, and a full articulating display has only the Nikon Zf. Even better the Sony has 3 dials instead of 2 dials like all the normal Nikon have... A good image stabilization from the Nikon Z cameras is only for Nikon Z lenses. If you buy any Nikon camera in a different country or on the gray market you don't get a warranty. So I love rater to have a hot camera than a cool camera!
The camera costs $700 more in Europe than in the US. That's rude. There are no improvements to the Z6ii, rather major disadvantages with the poor ergonomics, no individually adjustable buttons and a micro SD card slot as a backup. At €2,500 just for the body, it's far too expensive. That was nothing Nikon, a real failure
Nikon really hit it out of the park with this one. Have my first wedding with the ZF tomorrow and I cant wait to use it
Thank you! We hope you love using it 📸

Where is the classic silver and black version?
Hi. Does “Flexible Color” picture control work on the Nikon Zf or only in the Nikon Z6III? If I save a recipe including “Flexible Color” adjustments to a NP3 file will it work on the Nikon Zf?
silver version please
Nikon need to start putting the same autofocus modes they have in the Z8, and now the Zf, into the Z9? Why there is no ‘aircraft’ mode in the Z9 puzzles me!
4:2:0 10bit is ancient. You really need to patch this in firmware ASAP.
Hope it can do trap focus for older AFD lenses / Zeiss zf.2 lenses. This means the shutter releases only when the shot is in focus. ( even with a manual lens )
Will there be a 35 mm (with that same retro styling as the 40 and 28) in the future?
When will you release the silver top?
would you happen to know if it can also do raw video over hdmi like the z6ii?
Apparently the sensor IBIS mechanism is not locked when the camera is turned off. Does this affect wet swab sensor cleaning ability?
What I don't understand is why the design of the F3 has not been chosen for this Zf. If the Zfc was already like the FM2, I think this full frame should have been like the F3 professional. Maybe it's because the design of the F3 is owned by Giorgetto Giugiaro?
Wonderful
Is the 10-bit video 4:2:2 or 4:2:0?
24 MP is good, but 33 is the sweet spot.
Is Nikon Zf has Film simulation profile?
24 is good for low light
im waiting for Z6 III
I wish you would bring retro lenses with aperture ring with it also. Z lenses just do not looks good with it imho
Epic.
I just wish it had more megapixels and I would switch from my xt5
Is the body also metal or just the top and bottom is metal?

You need more retro looking lenses, as the 28 & 40 are too slow. As the second you put on a Z lens on this camera you lose the retro look.
yikes - might be time to move on from my D750 haha.
I can't possibly understand why there are not 2 function buttons on the front. And no U1, U2, U3. What a huge letdown
