📢LIFE BOOK 📢 LOOOOL 📢 Thanks for joining me in this new format! I'm not used to being in front of the camera but it was fun putting this video together! Where you at, end of video gang? 🧢

After jumping into PLOTTER this spring, I wound getting a Hobonichi (Original A6) because I needed something dated and bound for record-keeping. I would love to see a video about your PLOTTER planning and drawing! 🐣

2024 is my first year in a Hobonichi -- went straight for the cousin and an original. I use the Cousin the most but have picked up my A6 again for nightly brain dumps and daily gratitude in the monthlies. I just love a full, squishy book. I have to go investigate what Plotter is. :) 🎩

You are so right about buying too many journals. That’s why I like undated planners. Also when I buy a beautiful planner I want to use it more than one year. So on the the daily pages I am fine with putting a sticker over the dates and I have blank pages.

I"ve been struggling to describe my feelings about my planners this year, and you hit it very nicely on the head when you called it "planner fatigue" because that's pretty much the reason why I stopped using my planners /hobonichi Hon this last month or so, and mostly have been focusing on journaling in an undated notebook. That said, for 2025, I'm going into the Hobonichi Avec Cousin to downsize the amount of planners in my personal and work life, and then I'm also going to keep the undated vertical weekly from Traveler's Notebook for my work planner so that I can take it out and keep it on my desk at work to stay on track without giving away too many personal things at work.

🧢 great video! I bought the 2025 Hon. I’ve used Hobonichi digital planners, Notion and Obsidian before but wanted to go “analog.” Being a minimalist, I don’t intend to purchase a ton of “extras”, and I want to use the journal in its original spirit for the first year. Your video convinced me to not watch more videos or I might get sucked into all the cute ideas…and I don’t want to create overhead for journaling like spreads. Anyway, thanks for the video!

And I’m surprised to learn people buy more than one planner! I think analog for thoughts and digital for planning is the way to go for me!

🧢 Love your video! I gambled on getting the hobonichi A6 at the middle of the year, if I can stick to the habit of journaling. So far it is going great! Im not saying that I havent missed a day/weeks of not writing, but layout how the notebook was design was something that will make you do so. Either way, we chose the notebook that serves us best and have fun the most! Looking forward to more of your reflections in journaling culture and community!

Thanks for this in-depth video. I appreciate what you said at the end about evaluating what works for you. I have been using a Hobonichi techno cousin as my work planner this year. I wanted that mix of the monthly and weekly spreads with the daily pages, but I have found that although I use the daily pages I don’t really use the calendars. I also feel guilty about using such an expensive planner with beautiful paper for my biro work to do lists. So I think next year I will be using a standard day to a page diary. 🧢 Love this format of video btw!

🧢I appreciate this video. To be honest 2025 is the year of simplicity. I will be using the Aura Estelle Catch All and Traveler's Dairy. I realize that I do not need all the things. 🧢 I enjoyed your reflection and insights about pivoting when a stationary tool no longer suits our lifestyle, needs, or preferences. I love the A6 Techo! It was a go-to book in 2023. However, this year, it has simply not worked, but no worries. Like you said, we can always revisit a tool as our life evolves.

I love this talking to the camera, Job! and I bet it feels a little freeing for you not having to worry about hiding your face.
I am using an A6 HON this year and I like it. I do no scheduling and just journal in it. I think for next year though, I will be using one of my umpteen impulse-buy notebooks in an effort to use up what I have. The challenge for me will be to make sure I set up the dates in them beforehand so I stay on track with daily journaling.

Great review! I appreciate the take on multiple planners. I used to be a hardcore EC user along with Hobonichi. I recently decided to cut ties with EC use. I already use the Techo, Hon, and weeks and the EC was just a “shiny toy” to have cause it’s so popular. Since I cut the EC, I’ve been able to purge all the stickers and kits that went with it.

🧢 I love and have loved the Techo since .. I think it was 2014, but it might have been Fall of 2013. It’s flexible, sturdy, patient, doesn’t mind if I skip a day, or stick things in it, or watercolor, or doodle, or … to me it reflects life, both mine and in general. It catches everything that is thrown at it and ends up looking well-lived-in and gorgeous. My secondary it the Traveler’s in original and pocket size, I switch those up. But my Hobonichi is my bestie
    Love seeing your face, too.

I love the new video format! 🧢 I have been doing daily documenting in a hobonichi for several years and I love having all my memories in one book. It can get exhausting though. I am less anal about seeing "pretty" pages everyday. I just want to make sure I capture something but I need a lot more space than an A6. I use an A5 cousin for my daily documenting, but before finding Hobonichi I was using loose 9x6 watercolor pages that I bound with silver rings. TFS!!! ❤

LOVE this video and seeing and hearing what you used your A6 for! Oooo same!!! Traveler's Co and Plotter are my 2 main systems that I use and carry with me every day, as well. Regular size and Bible size are what serve me the best. I Did use a Hobonichi Cousin A5 for 2024 but it never went with me anywhere due to size/bulk/weight etc... it sat on my desk- yes I use it, but its just too much space for me and just too big. This year I am going with the Hobonichi A6 Avec which I know will be exactly what I need. I also have my Traveler's inserts (regular and passport) and my Plotter as well. Plotter is my main use for planning, schedules, appointments and things like that while Traveler's is my memory keeping, planning, brain dump and all around everything!!

I picked up a Cousin from 2023 for this year in July. I have commitment issues and I’m still not sure it’s the format I want, which is why I snagged an old one and am just redecorating it to be current. I mainly use the weekly section to track my 10yo’s online school lessons so our heads don’t explode from being overwhelmed. But I do love love love writing on the paper and the daily section is my random notes or journaling prompt section. It’s been a good option for trying out different formats and making myself stick to things for one month before deciding if it’s working for me or not, and I’m allowing myself the freedom to try new things each month.

I also am using the Hon as my journal this year but I found that when I was traveling (unless it was for months at a time) I liked my weeks to quickly log what was happening so I could then make spreads in my TN. Planner fatigue is sooo real. I just collage empty pages to make my books pretty when I flip thru them or at least try to repurpose them somehow if I abandon them for a while😊. Thank you Job, I Love seeing your handsome face . I was using the hobonichi technique but I found I had to use it every day and I just couldn't keep up with it, so I went back to my travels note book. It works so much better for me. Since I have a busy schedule. And thank you for your videos.🥰🧢Love Kelly Your Favorite Nurse 🩺

🧢 I love the HON ever since they introduced it so I am definitely going to use one again next year! The A6 size just brings me so much joy just from looking at it when I hold it in my hand! For the most part I think I have my line up figured out but there is still time haha

🧢 🎩 👒 I just started using my A6 Techo again after falling off for some time, and I’m really enjoying it! This is good inspiration. And I know what you mean by us plannerheads being distracted by all the lovely notebooks and planners out there. 😂

🧢i love my Hobonichi A5 avec, i bought one for 2025 again. I daily journal in it. Sometimes i want to try my TN but the paper of Hobonichi is my fav ASMR so no TN for daily writing. Love your video🎉 thanks for sharing ❤❤❤❤

The A6 Techo made me fall back in love with Hobonichi. White TR paper, portable size, and a less intimidating daily journaling or memory keeping page. I love the black gingham HON as a keepsake!

🧢 Loved the video format and your willingness to try! I was "inspired" by you to use the a6 Hon (until the plot twist 😅) I am using the a5 Hon currently and having fun with it as a memory keeper. Will be re-dating a5 midori one day a page for 2025 to clear old stock.

I love all your videos, and I thought I remembered you saying you weren't in a Hobonichi right now because you had refrained from buying one on your release day video. I'm in so many journals, and I must admit that the covers override my sensibility to what's inside sometimes. I am spiraling deep into the rabbit hole of inks right now, so I'm trying to focus on papers that bring out the best in different inks. At least that gives me an excuse to explore different notebooks and journals. You mentioned a video on Plotter. I was looking at TN stuff just last night, and I was drawn to the Plotter cover because I don't like the knot on the back of the TN. Still, I love everything about all the incredible stationery supplies they have put out, and it matches what I'm looking for in many ways. I noticed that the Plotter was ultra-expensive. If you made a video about that, I'd be interested in knowing more. Thanks👊

Hi Job, I loved this video! 🧢´My first Hobonichi purchase arrived earlier this week, I bought a Day free A6 and a Yumi Kitagishi cover. I think the day free will close a gap in my system, which is mainly bullet journaling. I'd love to watch an in-depth video on Travelers and Plotter.
