This course is so good! Absolutely beautiful and really challenging holes that can be approached in all sorts of creative ways. Rewards courage and punishes mistakes. A+
We got so used to seeing Calvin be automatic from 40 feet and in that watching this round seemed a little unreal. He still has another major win this year, I can smell it.
It's almost as if Heimburg had a birthday the day before and all of his competitors were buying him shots at the bar to get him as hammered as possible
To find the effective length of a course, wouldn't you take the total par minus 36 (to account for what it takes to hit a green in regulation. A par 3 in theory should be reachable in 1 shot to set up a birdie putt, par 4 in 2 shots, etc). Then divide the length of the course by the total par minus 36. Is this right?
I wish Jomez had more of a spoiler shield energy, like in years past, but they have to spoil us with what everyone ahead of the featured card shot now for some reason... Super annoying to me
Uli Hole 14: "If I threw OB twice, double digits would come into play.".....and what I mean by 'Double Digits' is, that I'd be curled up on the ground in the fetal position, sucking on both thumbs. (2 Digits) This is the Uli-gized term for 'Double Digits' and buy my new book: 'One Lout's DG Lexicon.'
This round was one of the hardest to watch in memory. Hate to see some of my favorite players struggling like this 😬 Is the Heimborg actually human?! I'm still skeptical.. I think maybe his software is intentionally throttling him to try and trick us
Length calculation should probably be Total Lenth / (Total Par - (2 x Number of Holes)) = Avg Throw. Otherwise a 300' par 3 yields 100' per throw average...
This might be a bad suggestions, but; what is the pro tour had a Tournament system, kinda like F1 has. Win gives you 30p, second 25p (or something like it). That way every tournament would make it a bit more interesting to me.
Wow. Not sure what happened to Calvin. But he literally lost 9 or so putts. Which would have brought him to lead if he nailed them like he used to in previous tournaments. Sigh. Miss his awesome putts. Hope he’s okay in his personal life that isn’t causing these misses.
I have, what may be, a stupid question. I've been watching disc golf for years and every season, it's the same courses and same holes. It's getting repetitive. Why doesn't the champion's league choose different courses each and every year for the pros to play? Wouldn't that be sweet?!? Having new challenging courses each and every year and it would allow for viewers to see new (up and coming) courses. Courses and townships could via for their courses to be included in the tour.... kinda like FIFA or the olympics. Just a question and a thought.
A lot of it just has to do with logistics. The course needs to be open enough for film crew and spectators and at least 100 person MPO field, which many great courses just aren’t. And it needs to have good cell coverage since live broadcast is a big priority for DGPT/DGN, so almost nowhere too out in the boonies or in a low population state. Lastly, it’s just easier to have a continuing relationship with the same parks departments, golf courses, and private courses than to have to walk into whole new sets of negotiation each season. Oh, and there needs to be a large enough scene there for the local club to clean up and pre set the course and help run the tourney itself on top of fundraising for the pro purses.
Unfortunately, ""Hey, I'm Calvin Heimburg" doesn't make the disc go in the basket. MJ and other dominant athletes lost plenty of games, they missed plenty of shots...BUT!?! He'll get it back.
Such good production and basically my favorite commentators, but can't you at least make a compromise maybe?, where you (at the most) just show the non-featured players' scores in small print, maybe just between holes and not have the commentators keep talking about it, or something? It is so annoying hearing AND seeing the fact that the rest of the field is beating the only 4 players that we are watching play........... Edit: And keep everyone's scorecards at the bottom like it was before. It's pretty clear that almost every viewer preferred it that way man. I don't understand why Jomez would make these changes for this year's tournament coverage
Just have to mention it. What's up with the insane amount of commersials. 8 I think, or was it 9? Every other hole really doesn't do the feeling of watching the coverage any good.
Fucking hell man, every shot is overly „impressive“, „wow“, „what?!“ I have to mute the commentators to not go rampage. These are professionals and if you hype up every second shot, a real outstanding shot gets washed up completely.
Loving the tourney. The announcing IMO is starting to do way too much psychoanalysis of misses, shot selection, nerves, power, etc. Sometimes even talking right through a great shot, tough miss etc. Use of the words/phrases out of his mind, incredible, amazing, I have a question, who's stressing, is it time we start talking about, etc.
Hey y’all, some constructive feedback on the commentary. 1. I get that Calvin is the favorite based on his performances this year, but it really feels as though Nate and Jerm get joy from seeing him suffer. Just lay off of it a bit when people struggle. We have all been there, and this sport is about supporting everyone not about calling out mistakes like they are moral failings and as if we all don’t know that they are mistakes. It feels like you all really treat the underdogs with compassion, which is great, but then take the gloves off for Calvin and sometimes other top players because you expect more. If you wouldn’t say it to them in person, don’t say it on commentary. 2. Nate and Jerm need to leave more space for Uli and for the commentary to breathe. No need to fill every second with analysis or words. Definitely need a solid 25% less from Nate and 15% less from Jerm. 3. Think about your audience and understand this isn’t normal golf, so emulating those announcers is a huge mistake. The energy of this game is about support and wanting everyone to succeed, not calling out mistakes in a mean spirited way as if it’s your job to be harsh and critical. The fans want to feel like we are watching the round with people who know what they are talking about, which would mean you chime in when you have something truly insightful and relevant or funny rather than filling all the empty space. Best of luck as this sport adapts to more normal, slow growth after a couple crazy years of growth.
Am I the only one that’s not impressed when a professional player goes 50 long on a 450 foot hole? Like, it’s way more impressive to park the hole than to be able to throw really far and go way past it.
I am excited to see this 19 under tomorrow from Ulibarri. Would expect nothing less.
Huge props to Calvin for staying composed and not letting emotions get to him through the round. Professional disc golf right there
This course is so good! Absolutely beautiful and really challenging holes that can be approached in all sorts of creative ways. Rewards courage and punishes mistakes. A+
Thank goodness somebody is FINALLY brave enough to say something about Corey Ellis's power!
I, for one, am sick to death of the lack of coverage on COREY ELLIS’s insane bombing power.
He really can bomb though. 🤣 Dude's stand-still is sick! First time I saw him was winning at my local Lexington Open. He's come a long way
Not to mention his distance! He throws discs very far. I'm not sure why people aren't talking about this
I, for one, cant believe how noone is talking about Isaac Robinsons angle control and ability to hit gaps!
@@andreasmyhre7578 weird, I hear / read about it every other day.
I wasn’t aware of Corey Ellis’ booming power, but thanks to Jomez coverage I do now. Thanks Jomez Pro
I couldn’t believe he actually dinked off the tree and hit the whisker. Unprecedented
me 2 uli sometimes i wanna see the full flight from over shoulder view
We got so used to seeing Calvin be automatic from 40 feet and in that watching this round seemed a little unreal. He still has another major win this year, I can smell it.
Let’s go Gosstache!!!! Love from Grand Junction❤❤
That's a perfect leaderboard right there at the start; a variety of scores from the surrounding holes.
"don't throw rocks. Throw latitude 64."
Lmfao! I love Jonathan and the new direction of lat 64 ads.
Should we start calling Gossages fistpumps Goosebumps? 🤔
It's almost as if Heimburg had a birthday the day before and all of his competitors were buying him shots at the bar to get him as hammered as possible
Perfect timing. Just finished the front.
Same
kinda same left for 20 minutes to play my backyard course
perfect timing was when it came out at 10am
Great job Jomez peeps and all the amazing folks volunteering at Glendoveer during the week.
Thank you team Jomez. 🙏
Shout out from Wisconsin, let's go Big Sledge!!
Very good coverage as usual but it seems like this course makes it difficult to get good angles for the cameramen.

SPOILER SHIELD🛡️
Mcbeth wins by a bogey and a half
I wish Jomez had more of a spoiler shield energy, like in years past, but they have to spoil us with what everyone ahead of the featured card shot now for some reason... Super annoying to me
On the post round interview Calvin said he didn’t get a chance to practice this course. Unfortunately he’s gonna regret that choice
Well, at least I know now. Thanks. I didn't know what was going on with him
Of course there's a Park City, Utah. I see you Sexton.
Just bought a bunch of Saints for practice, nice and stable.
Big Jerm, you get to Park City via I-80 or I-84.
Great commentating!
Thank you Jomez!!!

that was a wild ride
The water feature on hole 5 is a moat.

They greasing those chains? Sheesh. So many putts slipping out.
These baskets suck. Chains are too light
I wonder who was feeding Calvin birthday beers and shots after round two 🤔

WHY is JOMEZ not showing the disc selection off of every tee shot anymore??
I wish I had bad days like Calvin
i dont think this is the jonesoro open yall (may wanna edit the description haha)
Come on, Calvin!
Calculate how long a course plays by distance times par, Nate? Tell that to DGLO. 😆😆😆 500` hole... Plus 80' uphill
♥
iknow its the players who need to tell what disc they are throwing. most of us are here because of that tbh
If Gannon Buhr shot only 1 stroke better... we would have seen Alden, Isaac, Ezra and Gannon on Chase Card!
like the idea but it's ezra aderhold, not ezra robinson.
like the idea, but the fourth one should be gavin
Wow. Not sure what happened to Calvin. But he literally lost 9 or so putts. Which would have brought him to lead if he nailed them like he used to in previous tournaments. Sigh. Miss his awesome putts. Hope he’s okay in his personal life that isn’t causing these misses.
Apparently he just didn’t get to practice this course so it makes a bit more sense
Why does Gossage look like an auto generated Mii?
I have, what may be, a stupid question. I've been watching disc golf for years and every season, it's the same courses and same holes. It's getting repetitive. I could do without Emporia. Don't really have a problem with any others. Maple Hill and Idlewild need to stay on tour.... as well as Smugglers Notch
I'd like to see some new courses, but too many and you lose stability.
A lot of it just has to do with logistics. The course needs to be open enough for film crew and spectators and at least 100 person MPO field, which many great courses just aren’t. There also just aren't that many courses at the top level of play anymore.
Somebody test Corey Ellis for steroids, because that power is out of control.
NOBODY talks about it, but Cory's got POWER!
@@mikejones8866 they just don't talk about Corey in that conversation enough. I've never heard about his power. Lol

Shpield soiler🏔
No need to tip your hat to politicize disc golf Jeremy. No hate.
The mixed pro-open on the title is a bit passive aggressive. But I like it....
??
