Max MPs speed is guaranteed if you are connected with cat5 cable...wifi depends on location and strength of signal.
The problem could be also your equipment such as using an old laptop that is not using Wi-Fi six that could be slowing it down have you tried running speed test of an iPhone
Just got this router and it won't let me turn on the 5g bands and is much slower than my old router

I have Verizon Fios Internet and I wanted to know what extender would I need to add that has a coaxial and hdmi hook-up for power.
Did the range on the new router improved compared to the old router on both frequencies (2.4GHz & 5GHz)?
My WiFi extender is really slow on my pc, and on my mothers laptop it’s really fast (I use an Ethernet cord)
do a speed test. you can google that and get a speed test application on the web. if the issue continues contact your provider.

Where does the white cable go on the other end? Is it in the wall? I don’t think I have a WAN outlet.
If you have internet in your home - there is a cable that is connected to the OLD router that comes from outside. that is the main cable that brings internet to the device. that is the main cable. if you never had internet home then you need to get a tech to set it up. good luck
Then your existing router would be using an standard coax which is limited to 100Mps from Verizon
So there is no need for a modem with this?
Yes, you need a modem. What you are seeing here is just a WiFi Router.
why is the check on your router red but mine has no color.
My old Verizon G3100 router doesn't have the RED Verizon logo (Check or Tick) but it had the same in WHITE; It's just a logo. White's hardware version was 1103, whereas Red's version is 1104.
