    Go ahead and order the timing chain guides when you order the rest of the aluminum oil tubes I sent you the part#s on last video, you will need to replace it because you need to remove it for first oil tube.

    Good job! Mine kept ticking for almost 5mins. after replacing my tube. Had a holy Christ moment until it finally cleared up. Check eBay, there were a few cats there selling used metal sets, not too long ago... I regret not picking up a set.

    Hey Pete I’ve been holding off on this project on my 94 s600. It’s a little more rare as you know but are the “oilers” and maybe other components the same? I’m just doing my best to not be the “cat” stuck up the tree- thanks in advance

    I went to go look at a white 95 s500 very clean and well kept . I noticed the tick right away . I backed off but after seeing your video it’s not too bad .
    he’s asking 2800 very negotiable. Do you think it would be a good deal ? It has 204k miles .
    Also after leaving it idle for a few minutes it kids sounded like turned off or some what stalled is that normal. It happens quick .

    • @petescarport
      @petescarport  2 роки тому

      So 204k is a lot for any car but a well maintained s500 can go for a very long time. If the ticking noise goes away that is normal but doesn’t mean the issue isn’t there. Mine would come and go and I think that’s due to oil covering the area that’s making noise.
      The main things I would look at are suspension. Rear shocks are hydraulic unless changed out. New hydraulic shocks are very expensive. I would take it down some bumpy roads and then on the highway. I would also try and get it for closer to $2k if you feel comfortable with the car.
      Also how is condition of interior and do the soft close doors work and locks work?

    • @MsXfusion
      @MsXfusion 2 роки тому

      @@petescarport interior was 9/10 small rip on the drivers seat . Little stains on the floor .all the wood trim was perfect no cracks

      @@MsXfusion check engine is usually fine. Mine has it for o2 sensor. At that age a lot of emissions stuff goes bad or needs cleaned like egr. If it has any other light be cautious. Could be a major repair or a simple broken wire.
