I commute every day in DC on a 900 Tiger…which is borderline too hot. I was think of this exact bike as a second, but the heat would be a show stopper for me. Love your channel. Keep up the awesome work.

Good review. I had 30 mins on one last year; didn’t notice the heat but I did notice it did not like to go slow through congestion, that is not good for this bike. A real chunky bike, I liked it, but in this day and age you gotta go water-cooling.

Traffic jam and congested traffic is where this bike shine. You have to understand that this is a european brand, and it is legal to filter over here and most other places in the world actually. Not sure why most states in the US have not caught up yet.

Great review! I took demo rides on this bike and the 800 Scrambler. The shift and rear brake lever on the 800 were too tight, made for dainty Italian feet, I guess. Also didn’t like the handlebars on either. Agree with you on the strengths of the 1100, though. Great engine, and I didn’t notice the heat off the rear cylinder. Keep ‘em coming

Thanks! Yeah, the only handlebar option I enjoy on the Scrambler is the flat bar they put on the 800 Night Shift and 1100 Sport

Yeah, the heat is something that surprised me. Though, the only time mine gets really really hot is at prolonged stops, like when stopped for railroad crossings. Normal stop and go traffic is fine. Of course, i wear pretty thick motorycle pants and don't have dc/la traffic, which helps. I have the one with flat bars and ohlins suspension, and it is the best handling motorcycle of the bunch (r9t, speed twin, ftr, etc.). Anyone in the market for a bike in this class should at least consider it. I was ready to buy the speed twin before learning about it. Can't go wrong with any of these though.

Nice! I'd love to get my hands on one of these again and try it out on some actual fun mountain roads

Concise yet very informative. There was no another way to place that wire than making a loop over the (hideous) dashboard????

Hah you're right about that. Fortunately the aftermarket has come up with some quick & easy solutions to reroute that line.
