Best choice I've made tonight was to come here for carb advice. I'm considering fitting a 36 dcd on my vw mk1. When I'm done with this video I'm sure I'll be able to make a choice.
I remember those DCD carbs where hard to find in the 1990. I gave up looking. They were common on cammed cortina and Anglia Kent engines which were rare by the 90s in NZ
Thank you for a great video. I am running a 28/30 on my 1400 in a beach buggy and I am a little disappointed. The plugs are also white leading me to think it's too lean. I am looking to replace with a 32/36 or 36 DCD so this is very helpful to understand the differences in how they operate. I am very interested to know what you do to make a 38 Dgas usable as it looks like a lot of carb on the 1400.
Great video, both good carbs but the 38 dgas is still the best all round, the gears are an issue but still the best performance and consumption when the jetting is correct
@@carburettorrebuildservice8964 I saw the video of it. Did you do a follow up of it running and did you manage to get it jetted? I would be very interested to see it run
Hi, your carb was made for the Ford CVH engine, it also doesn't have the same base pattern as other Webers. Jets will also be a problem. rather go fir a 36 DCD.
