Audio books while reading physical books is the best thing to do especially with people with adhd .
I can now finish a novel every week when I adopted this method .

Awesome! We discovered it late but fell in love with this classic! Also, we're doing a modernization of The Moonstone over on our channel and we'd love know what you and your class thinks of our adaptation!

If you enjoy the way this book is narrated, you should really get your hands on The Woman in White, which is another Wilkie Collins mystery. It's about an art teacher who goes to a country house to teach two young women, and strange events ensue which are somehow connected to a woman in white that he saw the night before his teaching began.
It has some of the best mystery writing and some of the best villains I've ever read in a novel! It's kind of the book I want everyone to read at some point.
My partner and I are loving your channel and are going through all your reviews. Thanks so much for your fresh takes and wonderful perspectives!

I am so so looking forward to reading The Woman in White but trying to put it off for as long as possible to savour it. Haven't bought a copy yet but I know that as soon as I do I'll devour it! Glad you're enjoying my videos :)

I'm incredibly jealous of your library... as nerdy as that sounds. One day... One day

Wilkie Collins is one of my favorite authors and loved this book as well. You might check out "No Name" or "The Woman in White."

I think Wilkie Collins answered your question about the correctness of colonial theft at the end of the book.

I bought The Moonstone and was wanting abridged but am thinking this is unabridged. Very tiny print, big pages and 342 pages. No dates or copyright except for Cassia Press. Does anyone know if I have the unabridged edition?

I don’t agree about the possession thing. Read the epilogue. The idea is definitely that the Moonstone ends up where it belongs. There is a central irony in the whole book that these people don’t deserve it or have any right to the diamond. It’s subtle, but the epilogue is pretty clear that alls well that ends well. The lovers are reconciled, the Moonstone finds its rightful place. All is as it should be.

I read this while in hospital for the last 3 weeks because it was in the hospital library. I really quite enjoyed it. I loved the Betteredge part most of all. And all the Victorian air about it. So: quite a good experience with a book i found by accident.

We would love your thoughts about our adaptation as it unfolds over the next couple months. Thanks again for your excellent take on the Collins classic! Cheers!

No one who has actually read this book should liker this video because her description of Betteredge is so misleading?. Lovable? try grotesquely sexist and racist.

Him being sexist and racist is what actually leads to us liking him because it is portrayed as being funny. For instance he found a way to save money by marrying his servant which is quite funny and makes the audience like him. However if you are a social justice warrior and try to apply your belief systems to a book that depicts Victorian era values you won't like Betteredge at all.
