Anyone else here just randomly been dealing with this recently too? Seeing a lot of comments here posted weeks apart.
EDIT: I ended up: getting a new modem Since I was due for one but that didn’t fix it. So then I got a static IP address for it and did an alternate DNS setting and ever since then I’ve been having no lag at all what so ever (opened my uPnP as well.)
fortnite’s and rocket league has been buggin for me lately i’m either getting red X with 220 ping on fort or red latency with packet loss on rocket league so i’m trying to fix it

Turning on DSCP tagging completely fixed the issue on my wired internet connection. I’ve been playing EAFC 24 and COD and I’ve been speed playing and seeing frozen images for like a week now. You are a LEGEND bro.

i need help, i have good internet, nat type open, wired connection, all the settings from this video are on and i still have high latency. my latency hovers between 70-120ms its really does ruin gaming cause i cant play cod when im lagging the entire time.
Best bet is the location. Or multiple connections to your router/modem (phones, consoles, etc.). Farther away negates open/wired connections. Or farther more theirs settings in a Modem/router restricted. Most providers do it but it’s legal and free to chance by your doing. I changed the modem channel, i have a wall between my modem but im barely 8 feet away so I did 5.0 GHz. I changed the qqos in my modem and I prioritized my console as in whenever its on and im gaming it restricts any other connections towards it (my phone, tv, etc.) to create a more open space for my console with less traffic. One more thing I did is I set the distance limit where my modem can be connected to as small as I can to fit my house. Most times its already set to a distance for a more “bigger house” so if you’re in an apartment that allows you to have your own modem or router or just a small house the distance limit should be changed to only fit your house.

Was having really bad packet loss and lag issues but changing my DNS to the Google one helped a lot thanks man!

I put the cloud dns in first and it did nothing so entered the Google dns and it made it a little worse so I reentered the cloud dns and it made it incredibly better. I went from 100% packet loss to 1% and from 105 ms latency to 82 ms latency
This happened to me 3 months ago and had to wait couple days for it to solve itself, but now it happened again got new router and modem stil dont work so definitely a xbox issue

Set everything to automatic and then reset your MAC address & restart. Wait 5-10 mins then run a speed test.

Just started having this issue, XBOX360 (INTERNAL HDD) wired connection 800mps package from xfinity.... everytime I shut off and restart console it'll last MOST of the time roughly HALF TO 3/4 of the session then just get BASICALLY UNPLAYABLE.... WTF, is going on with this damn game..... It doesn't do it on bootcamp, just DMZ.

I did everything but change the manual DNS setting. Still had 100% packet loss. Changed DNS to manual and did the 1111 and 1001. Finally works. So weird it requires that after like 10 years of playing. Now it needs it.
I’ve never had any issues with packet loss until this year. Mines use to say 20% now it’s at 100% it’s ridiculous. It’s like this anytime I turn on my Series S.

I am wired with cat 6 and new nighthawk router. Up n down are fast an low ping like 9...network test shows 96 latency always. No idea how to fix or lower. Did the qos tagging but I did both maybe I should only do the wired one?

This didn’t work and I’m on a college campus, streaming works fine but almost every game is unplayable, I’m pretty sure it’s a hardware issue though as R6 Siege works on my PC but not my system. Is there any known solutions or am I just stuck?

does DNS matter if devices have the same DNS? for example the automatic DNS is the same as my laptop.
If you change the DNS should you keep it as standard to change the WMM

I tried the fixes in the video but have not fixed it. My cod stutters, but I have low ping, but 100 packet loss...
It doesn't show ping in game just latency which is between 15 and 35 usually. Even when that's low it can be laggy. My download speed is good 150+ mb so I do think it's the servers on the game itself now. I did the 2nd option last night on the vid and set dscp logging on seems to help a bit too but not a lot.
Had at least 50+ packet lost before this, changed it to wmm tagging and the lag jus stopped thx for help

Why dont you guys describe what the heck packet loss even is? All i know is when i llay madden it lags and then speeds up and i lose control of everything in online games only. Download speed has gone to garbage too, my bro's series S was doing 70mbps which is a little above average for our internet, told him to pause so i can see and mine was at max 4mbps.

Over 1 week ago my network was good, When I enter the Fortnite game, it shows that it is 35, when I enter the game it is much higher, and only in the early hours of the morning does the MS latency rate improve, and when I go to do the internet speed test on the Xbox, it shows 29 MS, but the packet loss is 100% and the MTU (which I don't even know what it is) is 1480. Does anyone know what it is?

Been dealing with this crap for about 3 months or so. Have done everything you can imagine. It feels like it may be certain games...like I downloaded the Tekken 8 demo last night and shortly after it started this problem again. Not sure if that's it, but it seems to be associated with downloads somehow?
It's so odd. I can hop on a GTA online public server for hours switching sessions back-to-back nothing happens at all as soon as I go to Apex damn lag lag
@@dylantedlock So I had a tech from our ISP come down here, again to give out old router back. They had replaced it with a 6k one or whatever it was a couple weeks earlier because of this problem but it didn't fix it. Anyway, he gave us the 5k (or g?) router back, then hopped up on the lines outside & replaced the line that goes from the pole to the house. Next, he discovered there was a fissure in the casing of the main lines outside that had caused rainwater to slowly seep into it and that was sapping the connection in a way that my shit would work, but only barely enough to get a connection, and worse during rainy weekends (when it was usually real bad). After the tech resolved all that, I've had a lightening fast connect, no hiccups, no packet loss, no disconnect. 100% fixed.
I play all kinds of high end games online for Series X and have had zero issues, so you guys might want to contact your ISP & get a tech out on the lines. This solved it for me after having issues for like 3 fkn months, plus, I never had to talk to those losers from Microsoft "customer service".
@@karnagefails333 that's crazy you say that because the line that runs for my internet is an old wooden pole that is surrounded by trees and sometimes has issues. So maybe I will call in and see if they can restore anything that's old up there.
@@dylantedlock Yeah dude. We have bushy pines needle trees around where the damaged line casing was where it connects to the, also wooden, pole. Yeah give it a whirl & get a tech out there it didn't cost us anything because we already pay the service. I hope that helps ya out
