  • Hey Guys, this time I made cheese biscuits using Processed Cheese. It tastes amazing! Because of lockdown, I had to get creative in using some of the ingredients in my house. One of the item I find challenging was Sliced Cheese. I mean, the common way that we always used, is to slap it inside sandwiches or burgers. Due to the recent trend of making biscuits (The savoury kind), I thought, why not use this to create something....Delicious? And it worked! (Even I wouldn't have thought this could work out).
It came out flaky & every time I bite into it, there is that cheese essence & taste as it melts inside my mouth. Therefore, I would like to share this recipe with you guys.
Extra Tips: This can be enjoyed by pairing Cheese Biscuits with Creamy Chicken Soup.
Hope you enjoy my recipe and video. If you make it, do let me know in the comments down below on what you think.
    Ingredients:
    320g of Self-Rising Flour
    180g of Salted Butter
    1 Tsp of Baking Soda
    1 Tsp of salt
    1 Tsp of Black Pepper
    2 Tbsp of Sugar
    150ml of Cold Water
    3 Slice of Processed Cheese
    50g of Melted Butter
You can substitute self-rising flour to all purpose flour, but please add 3tsp of baking powder.
    Yield: 10-16 pieces
    Method:
    1. Sift your flour and baking soda into a mixing bowl.
    2. Add in your salt, sugar & black pepper. Then mix them all together.
    3. Sliced up your cold butter into managable pieces and add it into the mixing bowl.
    4. Pinch and incorporate the butter into the flour. Do not over-incorporate them, as it is good to have some lumpy pea size butter.
    5. The Buttered Flour will turn light yellow in colour and have a Sandy look to it.
    6. Tear up your 3 slice of processed cheese into small pieces and add them into the mixing bowl, then mix all ingredients well again.
    7. Add in your 150ml of cold water into the mixing bowl. Stir the mixture until combine then knead it into a dough. (Do not take too long, if your dough is too warm, it'll fall apart and become sticky & greasy)
    8. Flour your dry clean surface and take your dough out and pat it down into a rectangle and fold 1/3 of both side into the middle. Repeat this 3 times in total. (This will make a layer for your biscuit)
    9. Cut them into 5cm squares & place them onto a tray with parchment paper.
    10. Brush your melted butter onto the surface of each cut biscuit.
    11. Bake them in the oven for 20 minutes at 220°C, until the top is golden brown and it rise a little.
    12. Once its done, you can serve your cheese biscuits piping hot or let them cool down for 5-10 minutes on a cooling rack before serving.
    13. Enjoy.
