I think what Rob Zombie did with this theme was outstanding. The sound effects and the girl's voice just made it that much darker. John Carpenter's theme excited your fear. This theme fills you with a sense of dread and hopelessness. Loved this movie. The second one.........not so much.
Especially how the ending made this remake as already the final part with no future sequels planned since the main character has died along with michael

Yeah the 2009 sequel was play. But the original Halloween will always be a classic and the best no matter what. But what I like what Rob Zombie did was that he actually called up John Carpenter about doing a remake and to me that is the kindest thing you can do if you decide to do a remake of somebody movie. But what I also like about this version of the movie too is that we got so much more of a backstory of michael and his family life and how his life was in the hospital and his relationship with Samuel. Both Versions are great.

There was an alternative ending for RZ'S Halloween 1, In it, Michael after bursting through the car window and taking laurie, he stands outside instead of being inside of the house, after Loomis convinces him to let laurie go, he does, but starts walking towards them, and the police shoot him down
this scared the shit out of me when i watched it for the first time , in my opinion this is one of the best halloween remakes . Especially the soundtrack , eerie and dark.
I think Rob did a fantastic job with this movie. I did not want "true to the source material" content, I just enjoy Rob's unique take on the classic film. It's clear he really enjoyed the original, but still wanted to tell the tale his way. Nothing wrong with that, that's what makes a great artist in all of us.

Rob Zombie’s first take on Michael Myers was definitely more different than the classics.. because it introduces such a raw, darker, gritty, violent and more sadistic version of Michael, as well as the main theme it delivers such a unique and twisted tone while still keep the “classic” feel/vibe to it. By far, the most terrifying version of Michael up to date.
Because Rob Zombie was smart enough to know that he couldn't change the main part of the song or it wouldn't be good but he could tweak it just enough to make it more dark because let's face it if he did not keep the original sound from the the original theme song from the first movie then it would not have worked because he makin tweak it to make it better but you can never replace the original song so he just tweaked it Rob Zombie is a genius who knows what he's doing
I appreciate that Zombie!Michael's doesn't screw around with the mind games or underestimate his victims, he is more straightforward, and that his killings are a lot more gruesome, visceral and thorough. And that he's bigger, bulkier, hairier and his outfit and mask are filthier and more messed up looking. But I also appreciate Carpenter!Michael's mystic, stealth, soullessness, voicelessness, nigh-invincibility, his superhuman patience and has absolutely no redeeming qualities nor personal ties to anyone. Being framed as a force of nature who draws power from death. Combine these two together and you'd get the most formidable and terrifying abomination to ever exist.
Definitely one of my favorite incarnations of Michael. Just did a video on this version of Michael Myers. This is no doubt one of the best versions of the theme song as well. It still gives me chills!! It encapsulates Michael and his being so damn well! My favorites would have to be (in no particular order) the original '78 theme, The H2 '81 theme, This '07 theme & the newest one and it's variations from H '18 aka Halloween H40 and Halloween kills.

I like it, but there's just too much overtones and random sound effects going left to right and right to left. Keep it to the metronome, piano, synths, drums, and that's it. Maybe some over-dwelling bass, but what's with the moaning and machine guns?
