I love your videos, but you're partially wrong that you should just use a magnet to check to see if the 50/50 coins are silver or not. You should use your digital scale, because when you stick a magnet on a 50% coin it's going to stick to the hat that has magnetic and it's going to ignore the part that is silver, so you might accidentally throw that coin back thinking it's not silver
I had some of the best and worst luck with my latest dime pickup. I've found 15 pennies in these rolls, and over 50 missing dimes. But I've also found 4 silver dimes, so I don't know what to feel right now.
Hello all, hope everyone is having a great weekend.... So what do you think the value of the Canadian dime is?? Also, someone commented that older Canadian dimes are 80% silver, is that a fact?? How can you check the percentage of silver in the dime?? If you were gonna sell the dime, where would you take it?? Does the dime need to be authenticated/appraised by a third party before it can be sold?? All apologizes if I'm asking to many questions but I just started collecting coins and bills and I'm learning as much and as fast as I possibly can... Thx in advance...
Canadian dimes are known to have an 80% silver content until 1967 where the content was changed to 50% and then silver was discontinued altogether in 1969. If you are selling the Canadian dimes to a coin shop or coin show or jeweler they already know what they are buying. No need to get it appraised which is not value added. Good luck!
Nice finds Dave, you have been killing it lately with the dimes!
Great silver finds Dave!
My grandma recently let me look through her tub of coins and I found a silver 1962 silver dime!
