      It's been fun, but they still need more. Another strong RHD, and a center if they want to stack the first line. More importantly though they still need to focus more. They can't have 2nd periods like that. It was terrible. This game should have been locked down after the 3-0 lead. They still lack the discipline and killer instinct the 11 team had.

    Demko didn't bring his A game until the last 5 to 10 minutes in the third. Third and fourth lines played well. I am not even sure why people called the Suter-Kuzmenko-Mikheyev line the second line. It is increasingly clear to me that Suter, while a capable player, is not the right center for the two Russians. (You can say the two wingers are not the right fit for Suter.) My guess is that Tocchet wants Suter and Mikheyev to cover Kuzemko's defensive shortcomings. Something is going to give. Once you get into the playoffs (and hopefully before that), that line got to get going.

Ken Holland was known for resting Stevie Y and Lidstrom giving days off in March when they locked their post season position. A good example is Markstrom. If he plays 60 games, he is one of the best goalies in the world. If you over play him, he breaks down. We got Zadorov to assist with D relief so Hughes and Hronick could ultimately reduce their minutes. Refs gave soft calls to the Leafs after the soft calls they gave the Canucks and on the last 2 minutes of the game lol
      The soft Canucks calls didn't cost them the game, the Leafs' ones did.

    Man, Leafs PP and PK have been horrible lol
    Yeah, some soft calls for the Canucks on goal 5 and 6, but it shouldn't matter since we had at least 3 PP opportunities and no goals.
    Also Gio has been horrible since he came back, holy.
    At least the team battled, but man they need to get the PP and PK going. One Shorthanded goal doesn't mean the PK was great xD
    Ggs though, let's come back to winning. The Jets are right there and are playing great hockey.

      Leafs went 0/5 on the PP, Canucks went 2/3. Special teams were the difference. And only the last call on Gio was really that soft, the trip and first cross-check were fair I thought.

    • @peacebringer8
      @peacebringer8 3 місяці тому

      @@alexe606 I thought the Domi one was also a bad call, due to Leafs players suffering the same strength of cross-checks across the game and nothing being called. But yes, tripping was the only one that was actually a penalty

    • @alexe606
      @alexe606 3 місяці тому

      @@peacebringer8 That's fair, but the powerplays at the time we're 5-1 in favour of the Leafs, so can't expect to get the calls. I'd still put the blame on Domi instead of the Ref, can't be doing that in a tie game in the 3rd, especially after Marner just tied the game.

      @@alexe606 oh, definitely. Leafs PP and PK have been horrible xD
      0 for 5 is horrendous. You'd expect at least 2 on 5, or the very least 1, and the game would have played differently.
      But imo, that's on the coaching staff. They always do the same plays on the PP unless they get desperate and start dumping pucks as if there's no tomorrow.
      Looks like the players don't know where to be at any time during the PK, they look lost on all goals against.
      And the PP is like expecting different results by doing the same thing over and over again
