Thank you I can't wait to collect some seeds from mine when they brown. This is the first year I've planted them and I planted them late to get some late blooms and they are all blooming now and so beautiful! I had hollyhocks that I planted two years ago that bloomed this year and they were all so gorgeous I saved tons of seeds from those. I planted some this year and saved some to plant next year because it was so late I don't know if they will survive the winter and give me blooms next year. But if not I'll have more blooms in 2 years 😊
Hi! This is just the video I was looking for. I've never grown zinnia before and wow, they're beautiful and over 4 1/2 feet tall! They're all different colors and shapes. A couple weeks ago I saw snowy mildew starting, took leaves off but now it's on every leaf. Can I still harvest seeds? My sister said zinnia always get this? They're still blooming too, and maybe only 4 or 5 dried out blooms so far. Do I just have to throw them all away because of the mildew on the leaves? Tia for answering. I subscribed and can't wait to see all your videos. 🙂 Edit: I just saw your $tree gardening finds video from a yr ago. Those are the zinnia seeds bought this year. The Freesia seeds never came up and out of about 14 gladiolus bulbs, I only got 4 that bloomed.
You absolutely can still harvest the seeds even with powdery mildew. Mine always get covered with it this time of year as well. Regardless, I think zinnias are one of the must have flowers growing in everyone’s summer gardens! Thank you for subscribing and best wishes on all your future gardening endeavors! 🤍
@@thegrace-filledgarden thank you so much! Yes, I love them, they grew so beautifully. I enjoy watching the bees that come to them, especially the big bumblebees.
I just watched! Such a lovely garden and setting to live! And your zinnias look great and healthy in your video. You’ll have to post a video when they really start giving you a lot of blooms. Thank you for watching my video :)

My zinnia has only seed skins. I think the birds beat me to them. Finches love these.
I have planted Zinnia's for the first time so this is very helpful. I hav just posted my first garden tour video. Would love if you would check it out
