Even when re reading the visual novel. Kirei Kotomine past brings me to tears.

Kiritsugu was willing to kill his wife to achieve his goal. Kirei wanted to sacrifice everything to prove that his wife's death had a purpose and was not in vain. He couldn't accept that she had died for nothing. He wanted her death to matter. That's why he didn't commit suicide.

Damnt it make me sad. How much claudia love kirei. She always regards kirei as her savior. Because she know no man to be with her. But kirei choose her.🖤

I feel that people misunderstand Kirei’s character. For Kirei, being evil may bring him joy, but it isn’t what he truly wanted. All he wanted to do was to gain happiness without succumbing to his evil nature. Although, by the time of F/SN, he gave up on such hopes. Even though he is pursuing his desires and ‘happy’, he is at the same time full of self-hatred and miserable. He is empty. (He is not truly happy.)
