In regards to “kobe flying into games”, he was in & out of court in 2002-2003 so he famously arrived at a Denver game late & dropped then off with a buzzer beater.
initial impressions are that they put all their focus into the pure gameplay, and making sure everything is balanced and also as realistic as possible. no wasting resources on graphics and sh*t this year, and that's awesome! do you guys agree?
It’s the best 2K gameplay wise in my opinion. I don’t play online at all. So no dealing with micro transactions and pay to win. Season/franchise is my go to and playing a pal on the couch. The gameplay is worth the 60 bucks. I’ll play till next September.
@@GisherJohn24 same bro but since these patches dropped ive had to nerf/buff some things for cpu i play on superstar 5 min qs. I been tweeking game speed between 50 and 60 but 55 prob the best.
I have a friend who I play competitive games with all the time. He gets this game every year and I really want to be able to play with him but I just can't put in the insane hours to grind a build up naturally and I refuse to buy VC just to be able to compete. So I haven't played 2k with him since 19
Yeah that layup meter really confusing for me… my first game on my career with 60 overall i did 18/17/6/1/2 6to 38%fg scored all my points inside wide open couldn’t make a contested layup because of the meter
Florida stand up... Man I'm not going to lie this probably the greatest 2K game ever made and the reason why I say that is finally will you can play a real defense and if you coming in with some b******* ass layup and it's contested you will get blocked or Miss shot same with the dunks that never been in a basketball game before you jump try to block somebody and it won't even do anything and he was score just like that great job 2K greatest 2K game ever
Glad I skipped buying day one, I'll get it when I see a discount cause I don't have the competitive spirit to bother with MyCareer anymore. And it's way better stuff out to play right now.
I just do the online challenges and the rest I play offline. The servers are shit anyways. It's the same for UFC FIFFA NHL MLB THE SHOW all of EA is garbage
@@potatopoison1130Everyone knows EA has fallen off a cliff. 2K is on the edge of the cliff and depending on how this 2k goes, they may fall hard. Only reason I'm giving them a chance (haven't bought the game) is because they are taking a couple steps in the right direction
I did notice that players got new face scans, and a few on classic teams. Shaq is probably the one people will notice the most, but as I tried the ‘08 Celtics I saw a realistic Scalabrine face scan for some reason, and a new face scan for ray allen….its horrifying because he has a bunch of wrinkles and looks like a dehydrated plum, but its new ig. Another funny 2k moment tho was when I hopped into shoot-around with the ‘01 Lakers, and started looking at the badges, animations, and other stuff for those kobe teams since I wanted to see if they improved anything with Kobe being the cover athlete. However….they gave Shaq a fuckin post fade. He has gold Post Fade Phenom, despite having no mid-range, and a sub 60 fade attribute. You can green fades with him too, the release is just hard af to gauge without meter
That’s fucking crazy but have you used it in game to see the effectiveness? Shaq’s post hook is already money. There’s a couple of players that they need to rework or at least the way 2K made them, looks odd on paper. All-time Larry Bird has like NINE HOF shooting badges and they all can stack up like crazy when shooting in-game. I noticed over 6 of those badges activated for me on a single 3! Larry having those badges is not weird but Curry has like 4 HOF shooting badges in comparison, and there’s at least a few I think that need to be made HOF. I don’t think Curry even has HOF blinders, green machine, and guard up ffs Kobe got similar issues to Curry. I think he’s missing some shooting badges, he doesn’t even have the HOF clutch shot maker, guard up, or closer, the kind of stuff that you need in 2K, to hit the crazy shots Kobe could hit in his career irl. They have so many 98 overall all-time players, that really would make sense to just have on 99 like Kobe, Bird, and Magic just for example.
How’s the shooting? Is it like 2k23 where you have to basically green a shot for it to go in? Or is it like 22 and prior where it was actually good gameplay (or at least better lol)?
All I want to know is, can you play local multiplayer with friends in the same room in custom matches with custom teams that you can name and choose the logo/colors etc of and are entirely composed of custom players that you choose names/appearance of and design custom arenas like NHL18? I haven't played one of the NBA games since 2K14 and am hoping that 2K24 is something like that but with a level of improvement reflective of the 10-year difference between them.
I love how if you hold the joystick down or button down after a DUNK you can hang on the rim for as long as you hold it... If you hold it too long you get a tech lol
I bought this game purely for the Lebron Era to finally be added. The nostalgia is real and it’s almost perfect. Once that first complete roster drops, I’ll be the happiest man alive 😆
What 2k needs to change from a dedicated 15 year 2k vet..... 1. They need to stop showing peoples stats in games, completely and go back to how it used to be in old pro am. 2. They need to put the PA commentators back in rec/pro am and actually use our custom names like old proam which was rec. 3. They need to completely remove greening dunks, and go back to the old dunking system. 4. They need to remove crossplay. 5. They need to remove the rep system and go back to road to 99 without dropping people back down for a bad game, remove rebirth tokens and only allow rebirth on specific builds as opposed to any build, too many ppl running around with 99s they grinded in a day. which leads to 6. They need to remove badge regression and let people pick their badges again. 7. They need to completely redo dribbling and deal with the dribble spamming issues as soon as they arise, crack down on exploits as soon as they start. 8. They need to keep the season system but make the rewards much better, people love free stuff, however things we get from the rep system should be rewarded in season while certain things everyone will want should always be attainable like +5 to all stats should be a reward for hitting 99. 9. They need to keep their servers fixed and up to date and Never adjust latency it should be done perfectly the first time. 10. they need to give back the ability to speak to the other team in rec, that should only be taken away in proam, too much hostility is created among team mates ppl forget who the opponents are, speaking of hostility...11. They need to completely remove the black to purple ranking system, and also remove anything that shows a persons season levels, when you create so much separation you encourage people to sell eachother, trash talk eachother, and of course refuse to play with other, the community is toxic because so many players get treated like trash, that was never the case in old rec which was called proam, it was no squads all random, nobody saw anyones stats and people came out there to try and win, there were rarely and fights or sellouts. 12... they need to not make vc cheaper, keep stats and clothes expensive its fine, but they need to pay alot more vc for accomplishments in game, even if you loose in park that should be a guaranteed 1000+ vc, my career should pay well over 5000 vc per game just for the win, and rec and proam should pay well over 10k vc per win, then the amount of vc you get for each price should be raised by a little bit. To remove the pay to win aspect season rewards shouldnt give anything that helps in game, that should come with the 99, the grind to 99 should be alot harder, capping anyone and everyone at an 85 and making people work to level up, by doing so there will be alot more diversity, everyone having a 99 in the early days of the game is just boring, and lazy. 13. They need to put intimidator back in the game, they separated it into two badges, for interior and exterior defense. Because of that foolish move we have 6ft shooters pulling up threes over 7ft shaqs and lebrons with no worries. And with the ability to pick your own badges we would see alot more diversity in defense as well as offense. 14. They need to automatically give certain badges according to height, weight, and wingspan. Things like intimidator should be auto with someone really tallk, really strong, or with really long KD like arms. 15. They need to ban not just the accounts, but entire ip addresses, some computer games like pokemon do this all the time. Ban them for hacking, boosting, or using any sort of cheats or modded controllers. Using a 3 strike system until they get perma banned. 16. They need to completely remove banning and punishing people for quitting games. Most people dont mind ai players on their team and speaking of Ai players. 17. They need to nerf ai players ability to shoot, and change the tendacies to just stand at the 3 point line, even ai players with a 25 3 pnt shot hang out at the 3 line and green 3s left and right. They need to add more tendacies to things like iso, setting picks and screens, and post ups, also handles, the ai players should be no different than in my career. 18. If the other team forfeits you should still get all rewards earned up to that point. 19. They need to fix the openess, directional, distance, passing sliders, they are broken. 20. Lastly, they need to start communication banning people for racial slurs, threats, and believe it or not, bullying, its become a huge problem in 2k and has even lead to people being killed, but they dont talk about that, being from south chicago i know multiple people who were killed over online beef started in 2k. The number is likely in the 10s-20s every year..... Bonus 21. They need to stop using kobe as the face on the cover, its insulting to one of the goats after he has passed on. Fix the game first then use it, but chances are, Kobe would be mad they took that honer from top prospects and players who had dreams of being put on the cover of 2k, its a thing.
One of my biggest problems with the recent 2Ks were ghost contests…doesn’t matter how contested you are, there’s always a chance that a shot from any player could go in
@@MichaelJones-ik5ip of course contested shots are less likely to go in, but they’re never 0%, like how previous 2Ks make it when you are slightly contested or don’t have the proper badge
I like the of you have active hands, it results in defects balls. I also like if you clamp someone who's trying to do too much, they end up losing a handed on the ball.
I like the cinema cut when you light it up I think it's nice presentation. I think it gives it a TV feel and obviously it's Program that way that when you go into that mode that's what's gonna happen. I don't have a problem with that
I love the new fouls its more realistic. A lot of freethrows are shot in most nba games because its hard to defend players you cant touch. So it makes sense.
Damn 2k really making an effort to make a genuine basketball SIM game. Which is all I ask for and if I have a next gen console I'm tempted to buy it. For the online rec stuff it seems to be as shit as ever especially the badges progression. Well for now I'm still playing 2k22 on PC which I've bought at 84% off on a steam sale lol.
play now is easy LOL... you legacy plyers kill me... 2k HAS to be one of the MOST inaccessible franchises ever to date maybe Madden is on their lvl but idk i dn't ply that series... as a casual plyer who skips yrs and never plyed the game since its inception like you guys that online ranking is THE ABSOLUTE WORST Experience is all of online gaming and That is a FACT.. now me being on pc does make the difference since there isn't a big pool of players on this platform but even when I was plying 17 for ps4 you are still hard pressed to get any kind of wins in that game mode especially with how its designed which is totally stupid.... ofc you normie legacy plyers will have no idea what I mean since you no lives have plyed the game for the last decade thus knowing the move set and can ply with any team you want...
Bro I cannot make a build that i feel confident in… this shit is stressing me tf out lol. Probably wont actually make a player for a while and will jus stick to play now online
And the player jumping into another thing varies alot I’ve seen players try and chase down a player and 2k makes the jumper not foul and somehow it’s out of bounds on you. Watch how 2k not fixes that at all.
I have a question for all you guys that have the game. I literally just play my nba with a created player ( a balanced one) kinda if I was good enough to be in the league how would I play type thing. Anyways does the ai feel better? Like do your teammates hit shots? Does the cpu hit shots? Cause in 2k23 its either they hit everything known to man or miss every single little thing and its either imposible to beat the cpu in one game and the next you 50 bomb them. How good is the AI in general for mynba? Thats the only thing holding me back from buying this game.
Whoever’s decision it was to make player wear goofy warm up instead of their jerseys needs to be fired immediately. And whoever is in charge and keeps them in those warm ups every year needs to be fired too.
Worst part (besides them being money hungry) is the lighting… it’s so grayish, and there’s no way to fix it. Can’t believe 2k14 was the best graphics on a 10 year old console
Step back mid’s and 3’s were definitely possible in 2K23, but granted I was hitting those shots with Steph and Kobe, while playing on PS4 still lmao. The one thing I’m concerned for is whether the CPU actually stays on shooters like Curry and Klay, when you set them on deny and smother. Even in the Post, I felt that in 2K23 was in a good place but it’s such a thing you have to know the nuances for, to effectively score. When you figure it out though, it’s a lot of fun to score with Shaq and Kareem on their classic teams.
I like it this year mycareer is very cool. I like gameplays and badge system. This year im making maybe one build but its seems even at 99 getting all ur badges will take a while. I live the mid-range game as well. I have SF melo /PG13 build w a 96 mid-range. I love it.. i just hope they dont patch it to hell like 2k23. I seem to really enjoy every game people hate 😂
The movement & shooting is so realistic im loving it
Still sucks that they didn’t add the 09/10 Lakers team into the historic team list
They lazy AF 😢 like how hard is it to add new classic teams
@@SeeThruSmoke and it makes it worse since they already have the team via Mamba moments
Damn I was hoping u would had to unlock them in the Kobe challenge but seems like they not in the game at all 😔
It makes noooo fucking sense man, that is what I was really looking forward to when they put Kobe on the cover. I’ve been wanting to run the 09/10 Lakers teams for playnow online.
They hate Kobe man the real goat
The funny thing is right, and this is a true story. I named my son after Kobe Bryant, but I spelt it KOBI... And sadly he passed away on my 50th birthday on the day. We still have his jersey on my sons wall, so I'm looking forward to playing this game. I was waiting for the reviews to come out before I purchase this game. My son and I were talking about it this morning. We both love the game but we just waiting for the reviews to come out before we purchase. It. Don't want to waste 100 bucks especially in Australia because it's expensive to buy games.
When i played the firat Kobe challenge and they had the NBA On NBC music to us oldheads that was purely iconic and very well received.
this is the best feeling 2k ive played, some of the most fun ive had playing in a while
Please tell me from where the background music at 4:48 is from ??? I know that Melody but from where ??? Old video of u or old 2k game menu music ? It’s so nostalgic!!! Please answer 😂
it’s called Ice Flow by Kevin Macleod
He said it! “Wassup nba fans dom2k on the mic” w
My favorite intro ever
In regards to “kobe flying into games”, he was in & out of court in 2002-2003 so he famously arrived at a Denver game late & dropped then off with a buzzer beater.
Yeah the shot cut always did not happen in Play Now Online last year, kind of annoying but i bet they’ll let us turn it off eventually
All sounds good maybe I will reconsider buying this yr thx Dom👍 glad to hear of improvement to gameplay & not just microtransactions👈💯 #2k 🔥
great video by dom once again
initial impressions are that they put all their focus into the pure gameplay, and making sure everything is balanced and also as realistic as possible. no wasting resources on graphics and sh*t this year, and that's awesome! do you guys agree?
It’s the best 2K gameplay wise in my opinion. I don’t play online at all. So no dealing with micro transactions and pay to win. Season/franchise is my go to and playing a pal on the couch. The gameplay is worth the 60 bucks. I’ll play till next September.
@@GisherJohn24 same bro but since these patches dropped ive had to nerf/buff some things for cpu i play on superstar 5 min qs. I put my 3s at 70 cpu at 65 and my their off rebound at 40 blocking at 30 and their lateral quickness on 40. May turn up my layup ability. I been tweeking game speed between 50 and 60 but 55 prob the best.
@@carniac1 it's annoying the patches break sliders. Foul sliders have never worked for me since 2k20
It's absolute pain playing Mycareer as a 60 overall. Don't get enough VC to upgrade shit and I can't do anything at all on the court.
Its legit pay to win. Its disgusting and the reason I rarely touch the park at all.
@@WhereIsYourIDI Stay Away From That Shit🤦🏾😅😅
And it's way better stuff out to play right now.
same . I just don’t care abt 2k anymore like I used 2
I just do the online challenges and the rest I play offline. The servers are shit anyways. It's the same for UFC FIFFA NHL MLB THE SHOW
all of EA is garbage
@@potatopoison1130Everyone knows EA has fallen off a cliff. 2K is on the edge of the cliff and depending on how this 2k goes, they may fall hard. Only reason I'm giving them a chance (haven't bought the game) is because they are taking a couple steps in the right direction
No jersey at black 🔝 is criminal
that XV - Awesome instrumental at the beginning. 2K12 hella memories 😎
I learned to just wait until black Friday sales to buy the game. It's always half off
You are so on point and thorough with this video..just subscribed to your channel
Enjoy 2k24..I will learn lots from you!!
They gotta update classic teams, it can’t be that hard to patch in some more teams
Just add the missing players on the existing teams damn lazy a$$ 2k
I juss got the Xbox Series X, 2K24, and Madden 24 today. Installing 2K rn and hopefully it’s good
I did notice that players got new face scans, and a few on classic teams.
I don’t think Curry even has HOF blinders, green machine, and guard up ffs
Kobe got similar issues to Curry.
Like 23 but fucked up
shooting is so much harder, especially on HOF. Cant even make consistent open 3s with a created player on mynba
Am I honest opinion this is the best 2K in years specifically on the gameplay side... I hope 2k does not break this game like it does every year
bot talking who cant shoot now u r trash can hit whites and 80 percent contested shots
Loving this game so far
The fact that we don’t have to overly rely on Icon Passing to get the open teammate the ball is a hell of a big deal in itself
The could really add depth and nuance to blacktop buy adding venues. Rucker park, Venice beach etc
I love how if you hold the joystick down or button down after a DUNK you can hang on the rim for as long as you hold it... If you hold it too long you get a tech lol
Can someone make a video on this layup meter. I missing what seems to be open layups
I bought this game purely for the Lebron Era to finally be added. The nostalgia is real and it’s almost perfect. Once that first complete roster drops, I’ll be the happiest man alive 😆
Is it offline
@@tamarrisjenkins841 yes, if you go into myNBA eras, it’s the second era after the modern era (today’s current roster).
Can’t even play … it’s ruined now because of the constant freezing… that was the only mode I play
@@deekidd4338 I’ve been away from my Xbox for awhile, is it broken now?
Brooooo that replay update would’ve made the 3 kings of New York so much more crazy. Still watched it all and still watch much love 🤝
One of my biggest problems with the recent 2Ks were ghost contests…doesn’t matter how contested you are, there’s always a chance that a shot from any player could go in
That’s basketball buddy
@@MichaelJones-ik5ip of course contested shots are less likely to go in, but they’re never 0%, like how previous 2Ks make it when you are slightly contested or don’t have the proper badge
I like the of you have active hands, it results in defects balls. I also like if you clamp someone who's trying to do too much, they end up losing a handed on the ball.
I play my GM and just adjust settings to make it enjoyable. Competitive but enjoyable.
What settings do you use?
yes, no intro since 2K17. Shady did that intro! 🔥🔥🔥
this is nice! but I will not get 2k24, the PC version :(
They need to bring back shaq's real body type, he is just to slim from the stomach waist area.
2k23 was a great game, and it looks like their jus building on it i might actually have to buy it
I will definitely get this game. ON SALE.
The dunk cinematic was in last year's 2K as well. I disabled cinematics altogether because they are just annoying to me.
I did get blocked during a cinematic dunk! It was dope though! And I play on broadcast camera!
I like the cinema cut when you light it up I think it's nice presentation. I think it gives it a TV feel and obviously it's Program that way that when you go into that mode that's what's gonna happen. I don't have a problem with that
EXCELLENT VIDEO!
I'm glad you explained the lay up thing I was a little confused.
Your voice got deeper my boy 😂 i been watching you for years you sound totally different
sounds like they made some great additions. I'll buy it on Black Friday when the price drops.
Do you miss open layups still or they improved that
If your open the green window is really big. Hard to miss
Playstation home! Broooo thanks for that memory. It’s not as cool as Home was, but this’ll do
play now is easy LOL... you legacy plyers kill me...
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Bro I cannot make a build that i feel confident in… this shit is stressing me tf out lol. Probably wont actually make a player for a while and will jus stick to play now online
have y’all matched up against the same team you’re using in play now yet? or is that fixed
playstation HOME 😩😩 omg so funny you mentioned that I used to have the BEST TIMES THERE
Ahhh before Mike Wang patched this game 10 times and brought back ghost contests
Also when the community started complaining which made them start patching the game
i’m a lockdown with a 79 3pt and hit a spin jumper buzzer from half
Dom u gotta do a legends league
How we feeling about the visual cue settings?
Has the issue of the untimely late game fouls and timeouts of 2k23 been resolved in 2k24?
No... I wish 🤞
I’ve had the game 2 weeks and the shooting is a lot more difficult than last year
Best 2k ever…
And the player jumping into another thing varies alot I’ve seen players try and chase down a player and 2k makes the jumper not foul and somehow it’s out of bounds on you. Watch how 2k not fixes that at all.
Damn… old XV instruments dom? I c u 😂
I was getting called way too much for illegal screens. Had to adjust slider for it!
How does this affect Dom’s 2k sim legacy on twitch?
Shut up with the memes it’s not funny
tell me if im wrong, but i think you can turn off the cinamatic animation for greens and dunks
Playstation Home reference! I miss it
Alright I know this off topic but what’s that background instrumental dom had at the beginning when he was talking
From a pure franchise mode and basic multiplayer standpoint, would you say this game is worth a buy if you haven’t played a 2k game since 2k16?
He's a content creator and a 2k shill why are you asking him?
Don't even waste your time on 2k.
Literally. In the playoffs it can be so stressful. I’ll probably just wait for a sale that’s what I do every year
@@rs660alec yea me too
I think nba live had that cinematic dunk feature
Did you not play 2k23? Literally the first thing you listed has been in the game before...
Whoever’s decision it was to make player wear goofy warm up instead of their jerseys needs to be fired immediately.
And whoever is in charge and keeps them in those warm ups every year needs to be fired too.
Let’s get that sim going brother
Worst part (besides them being money hungry) is the lighting… it’s so grayish, and there’s no way to fix it. Can’t believe 2k14 was the best graphics on a 10 year old console
Am I the only one that thinks they did one hell of a job with D’Angelo Russell this year? Dude plays just like himself lol
I forgot about Predrag Stojakovic. Peja must be short for Predrag?
I like it this year mycareer is very cool. I like gameplays and badge system. This year im making maybe one build but its seems even at 99 getting all ur badges will take a while. I live the mid-range game as well. I have SF melo /PG13 build w a 96 mid-range. I love it.. i just hope they dont patch it to hell like 2k23. This year i dont feel the need to play REC and Park that much. Only with my boys.
I really like this game after playing it yesterday there’s really not anything that I see bad about it
