CRAB TRAP SETUP

Setting Up My Crab Traps, for the Blue Crab Season in Florida.
My traps have been marked, according to Florida, FWC Regulations. Your regulations, in your state, may very.
Crab Traps, and Buoy's were purchased at " 3 Kings Crab Traps" in Salt Springs Florida.

How do you label your traps. What do you use. I feel like paper dissolves in the water and ink pen washes away

I used a wall plate cover and permanent marker.
Holding up good.

I just picked up the same trap at a garage sale. So the top of the trap is where the bait is. Is that correct?

That is correct, your bait goes in the top compartment.

So you stuff the bait in the top, and drop in the water. The crab will go in the sides of the trap and start feeding on the bait. The bottom of the trap should open up so you can sort the crab.

We fished them for 40 years with the bait and openings at the bottom, not the top, and have caught thousands.

@@portbarre5262 I guess I should have been more descriptive and said after you bait the trap, from the opening right side up, then the trap must be flipped to ensure the trap opens are on the bottom. My video was on giving a general tutorial on setting up your crab trap, here in Florida according to state regulations, .I will do my best to be more diligent next time. Thank you for watching.

Nice crab traps/pots I’m sure by now you’ve noticed you have your pull harness attached on the bottom of the crab trap/pot not the top, the bait filler should on the bottom
I like running a loop on the top of the buoy unless you’re going to use a auto feeder to reel your crab traps/pots in.

Looks to me that the trapes are rigged upside down. The funnels should be at the bottom of the trap. Not the top.

Yes correct, they should be on the bottom, I forgot to tell people after baiting flip it back over.
I had addressed that when the video first aired and I have a video showing that when they get deployed.
Unfortunately when I had addressed that the first time, someone had deleted that response. And just trolled the channel .
