If you can’t treat squatters as home invaders, then there is something wrong with this country’s justice system………sad
no wonder you’re an egghead
Sure you can, bodies don't argue with anyone.
Yep.
Stop voting Democrat...get a spine
It is very sad how the system is.
It should be legal to use any means necessary to remove squatters.
Gas them out!
@@youtubepolice1060 I volunteer to eat a lot of Taco Bell and help deliver the gas.
Yup, even lead Poison. 30 caliber size.
In California, they aren't squatters, they are TENANTS. Congratulations! You just became a landlord.
In California, squatters and deadbeat tenants have more rights than homeowners. You can't even call the police on these shameless, soulless, conscienceless, heartless, evil theives, because police consider what they're doing a civil case, not theft, not robbery.
The audacity is breathtaking.
Not that audacious. Had they remained, the Sherriff would have done NOTHING because it then becomes a "civil matter" due to the STUPID politicians making the laws in California! They would have had to go through the lengthy and expensive process of eviction, and maybe even have to pay them relocation fees. You can thank the DEMOCRATS for that! TIME TO WAKE UP YOU DEMOCRATS you been stupid and ASLEEP.
They were probably tipped by the contractor or construction crew, that's often the case...
@@LaurentiusTriariusin this case,, it’s not even that far of a fetch to say it was the homeowner herself who set this up just for the attention
She was actually lucky. A lot of times it takes months or even years to get these criminals out. It's insane!
I believe that's if they've "established residency"
I am going to guess she got lucky because somebody in that crew had warrants.
@@airplayrule all they have to show is a fake rental/lease agreement.

I think they should be in the house residing first and then that’s when trouble starts
This is insane. A home owner shouldn’t have to worry about someone moving in. Isn’t that considered breaking and entering?
The contractor probably left the door open 🎉
it's still a trespass
If the door/gate to the property is unlocked, you are not trespassed until the owner of the property notices you and formally informs you that you are trespassed.
@@gamechannel1271that's a dumb law.
Pls dont misinformed ppl haha. Trespassing is when someone enters another person’s property WITHOUT permisssion regardless whether the door is open or not.
Hence sometimes you see ppl have their doors opened for either they doing house renovation, moving things around, cooking , or in general just want some air.
I can guarantee you, IF you enter into anyone’s property during the above event, or any event for that matter, it is considered tresspassing. And if the owner is there, and in states like florida/texas, you better pray you win the coin flip.
Let this happen to the chief of police or the Governor; they'd be quick to make an arrest or lobby to change the law.
The Chief of Police obeys the laws of the state. Let this happen to GOVERNOR NEWSOM and all those who elected him and his cronies.
@@truthbknwn imagine of that happened to a loser and criminal like trump! They would fine none of the utilities work because he didn't pay the bills!

@@truthbknwn But this is happening all over the country, not just California. It's disgusting that no one is doing anything legislatively.
The fact this is still allowed to happen is insane!!
I like what one municipality did in CA. The property owner registers with local law enforcement when their house will be vacant for an extended period. Once registered, any squatter attempting to move into said house is committing a criminal offense, allowing law enforcement to forcibly remove them.
Why not make laws protecting home owners who pay taxes rather than have squatter rights? Anyone know why there’s such a thing as squatter rights? This just seems so insane. Victims (home owners) not even able to have the law on their side if squatters move in. INSANITY
Property taxes should be optional, and withheld if lawmakers ignore property owners as they are doing.
Taxpayers have been supporting these squatters for many years with 80+ programs of welfare and that’s why the squatters feel so entitled. If lawmakers cared about the taxpayers it never would’ve happened.
@@daisydukes8252 : Welfare has nothing to do with squatters because Welfare actually PAYS rent to the homeowners (landlords). The squatter situation is completely different.

How bout making very strict laws against squatting in other people homes !!!!!
Bad advice to leave a dog alone on the property. They need food and need to be checked on everyday. security cameras that can be streamed and checked every day are probably best and a security gate to keep vehicles out.
Yeah, what's up with that.
Yea, because he said, "keep a dog outside by itself and don't feed it or even check on it"
Exactly!!!
Yes STUPID REPORTING
In my part of the country they’d be met with guns, not dogs or security cameras. This is ridiculous. I don’t understand how this is allowed to happen. Seems like a crime to me..isn’t that trespassing? Once they get in why is it so hard to get them out and make them pay damages with jail time?
Dogs , guns and cameras are necessary nowadays
It's still criminal trespass if they don't break and enter. Lazy cops don't want to do the work involved.
Why can't they be charged for trespassing?
because it's california.
they left, they can only be charged for trespassing if they decide to return
Because they gotta first inform the person that they can't come onto the property. It's then trespassing if they return. Also having no trespass signs don't hold up in court, because the suspect can always say "I didn't see the sign".

My friends were selling their home and after the closing, the new owners called them and said there was a family of squatters in the home and they wouldn’t leave.
My friend went over there with his .38, kicked in the front door and just started throwing their belongings into the front yard.
Sure enough - one fo the squatters put hands on him, and he shot him in the arm.
Cops came, and fortunately the squatters both had multiple outstanding criminal warrants so they took the squatters to jail and called CPS to come get the children (there were two little ones, poor things), and took the squatter he shot to the hospital (non life-threatening injury). .
The squatters threatened to kill my friend, so cops charged the squatter with that too.
Then the cops told my friend that they wouldn’t arrest him this time - but given the current laws, they could if they wanted to. Cops said they are being INUNDATED with 911 calls about squatters who break into homes, get utilities turned on in their name, and start receiving mail at their “new address” - once they get mail at that address, they have “established residency”, and they cannot be forced out.
Cops told my friend they could not, by law, recommend what he did - but they understand why he did it and they didn’t take my friend to jail, explaining they were going to write it up as a case of “self-defense”.
Believe it or not, the squatters tried to come back - but this time the new homeowners were already moved in so they didn’t pursue the matter.
What @Anai RaSoul said below, is completely true: “The audacity is breathtaking”.
Maybe taxpayers will start rethinking the 80+ programs of welfare they have been supporting these squatters with for many years. Thousands of dollars on EBT cards, rent assistance, utility assistance, daycare assistance, it goes on and on and that’s why they feel so entitled. Welfare needs to be abolished. Clerks can see how much money is left on EBT cards to use and I have seen several thousand dollars on many cards.
Why why do criminals get protected more than law abiding citizens. We should have all rights to protect their property by all means necessary against these disgusting squatting criminals lowlifes.

What a beautiful house I am so happy for the owners to have such a beautiful home. I had to protect my parents empty home and I did all of these suggestions including various lamps in various rooms on intermittent timers. Also a talk radio show. It was actually clever. No problems.
If squatters are not paying but have the rights to stay in a home why can't they be evicted for non payment of rent?
Ya gotta pay to stay - ANYWHERE! For anyone who does this, the usual 'eviction' laws should not apply. This isn't a ''tenant that didn't work out' situation. It's outright theft! It's trespassing and fraudulently acting as a LEGAL homeowner! Arrest them and give them lodging - in jail!
Another example of laws that need to be addressed to protect the honest hard working people. Laws should Not protect people who want to cheat the system because they don't want to work. People who choose to be law breakers.
If it happens to you or I, nothing they can do. If it happens to a politicians they are immediately arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. When public servants have more rights than the people, it’s time to clean house

It Ain’t Happening Buddy
A squatter broke into a neighbors home. Luckily the cops actually removed him because he did break a window to get in. If it wasn't for security cameras, the cops said they wouldn't really be able to do anything and probably would have taken months to prove home ownership
The cop was lying. Break and enterers are not allowed to stay. Break and enter even when the break and enterer doesn't stay is an emergency and police are supposed to attend as soon as they can.
Maybe saying he was lying is a bit harsh of me because on second thought, he could've been joking and your neighbour just took it seriously.
@@youtubepolice1060 - The cops not lying. You can’t prove it was B&E if nothing was broken “to enter”. A broken window could be a simple accident from moving in.
Tenants have protections. If a broken window could be used as proof that someone committed a crime and doesn’t belong there, landlords around the US would be evicting tenants without the courts… AND having them charged with crimes at the same time.
Sadly, this is the loophole being exploited. You have to take them to court to prove they don’t legally belong there… assuming the person living there has established some sort of reasonable residence there.
As for the tips you shouldn't have to do any of those things, no one should ever be allowed to do this without going straight to jail.
Squatters are a piece of work, they will tear up your property and then move on to another place and violate it
That is essentially the definition of a virus. Moves in though its not wanted, wreaks havoc then moves on to a new host.
They do the same to cities. Look at Oakland.
Why do squatters have rights????????!!!!!!!!!!!! So they can be protected after intruding and stealing from someone's hard work!! This is insane!!
the same reason that law breaking illegal immigrants have rights, and actually instantly receive benefits. Politicians benefit in some way or another. With immigration, the blue side is expecting to receive millions of votes , and committing treason on a daily basis by not securing our border is fine with them...
Anyone that tries to that will talk to my AR 15's
when my wife and I bought our house we were doing renovations all the while I was living there to keep the property safe, since even before now we have heard horror stories of squatters who moved into a sold house and you can't just kick them out you have to go thru the courts to do so which can take awhile.
Thats when you pull the gun and shoot them inside your home for tresspassing.
ridiculous law
@@deborahstone9696 - On it’s face, yes, absolutely ridiculous.. but just imagine you were a tenant and your landlord decided they wanted to kick you out.. if this “protection” didn’t exist, you’d be out in your a$$ just off the landlords word and a cops sole discretion.
If the landlord could give consent to an officer to enter the home, then millions of tenants across the nation would have no protections against unlawful and unreasonable searches.
And yes, plenty of squatters have falsified lease agreements to use as proof of residency.
This is why a judge/court needs to decide, and not the police. The law needs to be fixed.. not removed.
Hey cops it's called tresspass.
Understand?
The cops don’t exist to protect you and your property they exist to protect the machine sadly
This really doesnt seem that hard to remedy. If the lawmakers are unable to spend a few hours of their own time, I'll volunteer to write the friggin law for them smh
I used to think squatters were people who were obsessed with yoga
Why didn't the contractor call her 🙄
Stealing is a crime but squatting is not? Been watching almost the same news about squatters in America. I feel bad for the homeowners who are victims of these parasites. This woman is quite lucky tho and I'm so happy for her. I can't imagine the stress if those people were able to moved in. But I heard there's a new law now protecting the homeowners from squatters, not quite sure about it tho.
Stealing is not a crime anymore
Keep a dog there when you are gone? Doesn’t sound right.
The audacity
sheriffs cant do anything because they didnt break in or damage property? what about trespassing? Isn't that illegal?
maybe once upon a time.
How sad is it that squatters are protected like this!!
Are they bullet proof?
My parents own a few houses an we have squatters happen twice. The first lady took advantage of the COVID epidemic and moved into one of they newly cleaned house. It was a nightmare, this woman was a serial squatter who would then rent out rooms in homes to folks who didn't know any better (or claim so, so they don't get in trouble).
Cameras an everything thry didn't care, turned the house into a drug den an got destroyed.
Now we hire friends to basically live in the homes to keep check on them. A lot less expensive than the damage those folks did. It was a nightmare.
All the red-tape and court nonsense involved in dealing with squatters is a giant injustice not to mention a giant financial and emotional burden on actual homeowners. People basically steal a house ... and there's nothing the justice system can do except tell homeowners to start a 6 months eviction process.
Home is castle; homeowners use of force including lethal force should be entirely legal.
Live stream cameras and a 12 gauge.
I watched one video on a squatter where the homeowner moved in with the squatters lol. That made it so uncomfortable that the squatters left.
"Dirty deeds done dirt cheap".
I do not recommend this but when I had squatters at my rental condo I had my handyman remove both the garage door and the front door. This is not legal, please don't do it but it did get them out asap.
Why not? You own the home. You're making lawful alterations.
@@humansvd3269 It is highly illegal and I could have gotten into huge legal problems. Even though they were squatting I have to prove they are squatting in a court of law. If I take matters into my own hands the courts will look at ME, the owner, as putting my ''tenants" even if unwanted at risk.
Please don’t just “leave a dog.” A neighbor we knew did that to her empty house after she married and moved in with her new hubby. That poor dog howls all day wondering where she is. I wouldn't warn the squatters, just have the exterminators come, tent the house and start fumigating asap. As the homeowner, you are perfectly within your rights. Maybe the squatters would think twice about doing it again.

There needs to be strick laws made against squatting. The cost to the homeowners can be astronomical!
Some countries in Europe have contracted house sitters not only for private homes but also for public buildings such as churches and schools etc.
We's SQUATTEN!
Yeah. Or the cops could actually do their job and drag those people out of the house after tranquilizing them. Have them wake up in jail or prison.
Didn't even obscure or blot out the home owner's vehicle license plates!
Time to start handing out room temp challenges to squatters...
do not take his advice about leaving a dog on the property dogs should never be left alone for long periods of time
There should be an occupant ID system where an officer could just check it on the cruiser computer to confirm that the rightful occupant or owner is currently residing at the address in question. All other people not on the list that are found to be occupying the property immediately get carged with trespassing and get a free night at the jail.
Outrageous that you need to have the equivalent of armed guards in your home to protect from squatters....need to revise the laws
No law revisions. Just consider them shovel ready. Complete the mission. No documentation or phone calls are required.
This is horrible when did it become acceptable to push n bully ones way through life ? Stealing from stores houses cars now our homes are being moved into !!!! Crazy stuff
Nothing they can do, there's the problem. protect the rotten at all cost.
Must be nice to have that kind of money
Apparently even if you don't have that kind of money you can still move in to a nice house.
I’m sure they worked hard for what they have.
EVERYONE (thats not a squatter) should contact your senator and push for home owners rights against squatters
Nothing could be done for someone who breaks into a house!?
Yea a gun ...

The nerve of some people.
Its amazing and even more so annoying how these people think its ok to do stuff like squatting in somebody's house .
There’s a couple in Chicago that are serial squatters owing over $1 Million dollars in unpaid rent and fees since 2009. The worst part is they keep moving into condos and then stop paying the rent. Also, they both have day jobs so they choose not to pay their rent. People like this need to be put in jail for a long time!
Wow, really?! That's crazy! There needs to be some sort of watchlist for owners so people like that can't game the system anymore.
Only when some senator has to personally
go thru this, will they change the law.
That's a very dangerous situation to find yourself in walking right into a bunch of squatters on your property. I don't know what I would do. I would probably not tell the squatters that I was going to call police.
If it were me, Was it would be very dangerous for the squatting scum...
I thought that too.
Why are there no videos on UA-cam from the squatters POV?
Only in Cali they would say they can’t do anything about it how sad

Squatters don't just move in. The forge rental agreements so when police arrive they don't know if the squatters have a legal contract or not without being able to confirm signatures. That's why police can't immediately act. If you don't find them within 24 hours they will be moved in, have paperwork ready and if they have a few weeks they will also have utility receipts. Security camera's with motion notification is your best bet. But have a plan and be prepared because they will be.
