Actually I’m surprised people don’t like that side reflector. I thought that was a major reason that the car caught me eye in the first place. I went out of my way to make it even more visible 😅

Brother, I agree with you about the gas tank size. I own a 2022 Genesis G70 3.3T and we have the same engine setup and you are right, the gas tank is way too small for the car. I can only go around 380 miles on Eco mode. We do have the same gas tank size as well. Stay safe

Also to share a sucky story; on the highway a few days ago, I felt something hit the car underneath really hard and when I finally looked, my ‘added-on’ front black lip had been smashed and completely dismounted and was dragging. I HATE Houston highways!!! 🤬 went ahead and had to remove the rest of the lip and ordered a replacement. This time I ordered a carbon fiber lip. Hopefully it will look even better.
Kind of funny, my next-door neighbor, this elderly white guy who is all about American muscle like most are, cannot stand foreign cars, but he actually approached me days ago, and said that with everything I had done and added to the Stinger following your videos, KJ, with some additional carbon fiber addons he said my Stinger looks absolutely gorgeous and he welcomes it onto his top list of favorite vehicles 🤣🤣🤣

I think the only thing I agree with is the range. I do a lot of long distance driving and I wish I didn't have to go searching for a gas station after that drive. I am able to get close to 400 miles though on my road trips from LA to Vegas. The side reflectors grew on me and honestly I think helps make the car look somewhat unique, the car still gets a ton of looks and compliments. They do make a paint matched replacement side marker.
Do you have the Gt or gt2? The base 2.5 gets you closer to the 400 range mark. The most I've gotten in my gt2 is about 345 miles.
@@brokeboy87 I have a gt2 scorpion edition, I actually have a video explaining how the car is as a road trip car and show that I was getting 30mpg on my trip which is pretty close to that 400 mile mark for the car.
Could it get better range maybe, but for a car that can beat/keep up with a gas guzzler dodge I think I’m cool with it. When it comes to reliability I have over 92 grand on mine with zero (knock on wood) issues. I keep the maintenance up doing them before they are due not when the manual says it’s due. Kia cars are very reliable but any care not taken care of will fail. The car will take care of you as well as you take care of it. Seeing all the crust from the coolant left there after the repair says a lot about how much you care about your car.
@@cee2368 The range is mainly due with the size of the gas tank, most cars in this class have around a 20 gallon tank, this car has a 16 gallon. The gas mileage is pretty good for a car like this so no complaints there but a charger/challenger can get 400+ miles on a full tank even though it gets worse mpg. I agree though, reliability is good on these cars, the 3.3l has forged internals and no one has really had any major engine issues with these.
Ok, we’ll let’s just say a person can get 400 + miles, how many people can really say that’s what they honestly get? Not the way I see people drive them, I have gotten 24 to 30 mpg without putting in eco mode or changing it to map 0, mines always on map 3 and yes it’s got a 3.3l just didn’t get the GT2 cause the car was already heavy for a V6 didn’t need the extra weight or the extra maintenance.
I feel you on the auto headlights dimming under shady areas lmao happens when I drive under trees in my neighborhood
Fun fact: All automotive vehicles (In the USA) manufactured from January 1st 1968 and on MUST have side reflectors / lights. It's a law. That same law also defines what colors you are legally allowed to to emit while moving, and from what facing of the vehicle. (Anything other than Red, Amber, or White is illegal). Covering up those rear reflectors and making them not reflect, can get you a ticket if a cop wants to issue you one for it.
Fuel economy gets better the more you open up airways for the car to breathe. Its a turbo car so air flow is important. With my injen intakes and borla exhaust i avg about 23-25 mpg and with the jb4 in map 1 i get up to 28/29mpg in eco mode! Its a great difference i immediately noticed!
It wasn’t so much the economy just yank size. I had AFE intakes but still for a grand touring car it felt small
Kia may have considered using their 5.0 V8, and it made around 420 hp stock. But the fuel economy could have been even worse. The Stinger is still a great car, but with some odd design touches.
I also had to outsource all my supplies when my stinger went down. These dealerships don't care, as long as they make that sell their good 😢
I like that you have original dislikes. I do think a V8 would be pretty cool but not sure it would be faster. The turbo 6 has more torque under the curve then a V8 would. Also a tune for the Stinger 3.3T makes waaaay more power then a tune on a NA V8. Anyways, nice video!

DEALERS DONT SELL PARTS TO OTHER DEALERS IF ITS A COMMON ISSUE OR A RECALL. AS A FORMER FORD PARTS GUY IT HAPPENED ALL THE TIME. AS A CURRENT KIA PARTS GUY ITS THE SAME IF ITS IN STOCK MOST PLACES HAVE IT FOR SOMEONE, ESPECIALLY A PART THAT SIZE

The Kia dealership is actually not worse than other non-luxury brands’ dealerships. But you did pay the price that’s close to a luxury brand and that’s what most people complain about. Toyota Avalon was discontinued for similar reason, people paid the price of Avalon also complained while having to wait in the same line with thousands of Corollas for a regular maintenance service. I actually wish Genesis can have a model with the hatchback design and size as the Stinger. Their G70 has useless rear seats.
Never had a problem like that with BMW or Porsche🤷🏽♂️

I agree with most of these. One thing I'd love to add to the list is the way the paddle shifters work. I hate that in the gt2 it will automatically take you out of manual mode when you stop. I dont think the gt1 has this problem because of the mechanical connection but the gt2 should have been setup the same way instead of the digital shifter. Also the gt2 should have an LSD like the gts had and its genesis g70 cousin.

Unlike the G70 the Stinger I believe can be equipped with AWD.

@@brokeboy87 G70 comes with AWD as well. In fact, it's only available with AWD in Canada
they also have carbon fiber and black replacements so no painting needed
I agree. Kia service is horrible. My stinger GT2 will be the last kia I have.
From what I've been hearing KIA's dealership network is just trash. That is inexcusable. They are trying to project themselves as new upscale brand but forget about the most important part, the after sales experience. This is not 1950's, there is such a thing as internet and word of mouth gets out rather fast. It is very hard to repair that damage. It took Hyundai decades to make people forget the stigma of Hyundai Excel, not sure why would they forget that lesson. Everyone gets baited to that 10y/100k warranty, they just don't realize that it will be very hard to get anything out of it as they will fight you tooth and nail on anything. It's a shame as their designs are really nice and innovative but they really need to back them up to gain people trust and confidence. Don't fall for empty promises of 10/100 alone, do your own research or you may regret it.
That really depends on where you are. The KIA dealerships in Australia and many European countries are great. Not sure what happened to their dealerships in the US. But I do remember the Nissan dealerships in the US are bs as well.

Can’t afford $100 for a cover? C’mon dude. That things gas tank and mileage is about that of a Ford 250 Diesel Powerstroke. 70 miles for 1/4 tank? Damn.
Highway is pretty solid at about 110 per 1/4, but city with the tune on map 3 sounds about right😂
The very fact that's its a kia is the reason i hate it, lol it may be fast but youll never outrun the stigmata that comes with a korean car for the price you can get a real sports car, and you dont have to say you own a kia. My point is i never herd a man ever brag about a kia, just go get a miata.
Can’t really get a “real” sport sedan in its price segment . Nothing that really compares anyways unless you go older and less reliable 😂 stigmas are just that , things other people think . Doesn’t effect the owner if anything makes it better because people aren’t expecting it to be as good or fast as it actually is
